Peace, Love, Joy with Christmas Topiaries

Hi Friends!

I am having fun with the brand new Christmas stamps sets from Sweet ‘n SassyStamps this week!  This card was designed using the Creative Worship Clear Stamp Set, Christmas Topiaries (designed by Krista Hamrick) available on pre-order from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps (check out the details here - use code PREORDER0817).

I think that the topiary images in this set are so fun plus I love the font for the sentiments- perfect for Christmas as well as other occasions!

I wanted to participate in a few online challenges so I decided to incorporate the Tuesday Morning #419 Sketch Challenge as well as the Addicted to Stamps and More #258 “Holiday” Challenge into the design.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Ink the topiary from Christmas Topiaries with Versafine™ onyx black ink, stamp onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Once the embossing has cooled, use a gold paint pen to color the stars, bulbs, garland and pot before die cutting with a pierced tag die.  Mount onto black cardstock and trim close to the edge.

2). Use a snowflake embossing folder to emboss a piece of white cardstock, trim and mount onto the black card front and adhere to the white card base.

3). Add a piece of gold striped designer paper to a piece of black cardstock (for the horizontal strip in the sketch), mount onto the card front and add the topiary tag with dimensional foam.

4). Stamp the sentiments from Christmas Topiaries in a row with Versafine™ onyx black ink, stamp onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Once the embossing has cooled, trim the panel and create the fishtail banner by hand or with a punch (I use the edge of a retired hexagon punch).  Mount onto black cardstock, adhere to the card front with dimensional foam and add two crystal black drops.

5). Add the glittery gold bow to finish off the card.  FYI- I had this ribbon in my stash for years so thought I would finally use it :-)
