He Shall Strengthen Thine Heart

Hi Friends!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  I had a chance to relax and create a Mixed Media card using the new Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Texture Tiles I (the March stamp of the month- see details here) with the previously released sets, Wait on the Lord and Peaceful Peonies.

The main image panel is only one layer but I did layer it onto two additional layers of cardstock, so it is technically not a one layer card :-).  It is fairly easy to create but did take some time with the watercolor, heat embossing and stenciling.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). De-static a piece of watercolor paper with an embossing powder tool.  Ink the large peony image from Peaceful Peonies with archival black ink, stamp onto the prepared paper, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Watercolor the image with distress inks, markers and distress stains (see list of colors used below).

2). Watercolor the background with tumbled glass and broken china distress ink, heat with the heat tool to dry.  Once dried, de-static the paper with an embossing powder tool, ink the verse from Wait on the Lord with archival black ink, stamp onto the panel and heat set with clear embossing powder.

3). Use a stencil brush with broken china distress ink to stencil a light chevron pattern in the background and stamp the grid image from Texture Tiles I randomly over the area.

4). Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of green cardstock, trim again and mount onto a piece of black cardstock before mounting onto the white card base.

5). Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the flower petals and an Extra Fine Sharpie® White Paint Pen to add white highlights to the stamens.

6). Finish off the card with Morning Dew Nuvo™ Crystal Drops.

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Tim Holtz® Distress Inks- Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Worn Lipstick, Tumbled Glass, Broken China; Distress Markers-  Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Mowed Lawn; Picket Fence Distress Stain, Extra Fine White Sharpie® Paint Pen; Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen

Paper: Watercolor.  Basic Black, Wild Wasabi

Accessories: AquaPainter™, Embossing Buddy®, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, MB Chevron Stencil, Stencil Brush

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by! I hope all of you have a fabulous week and visit again soon- hugs, sweet friends!
