Happy Mother's Day

Hi Friends!

This is the third card I designed using the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps  April release stamp sets, Rose Banner along with A Mother’s Love Clear Stamp Set along with the previously released stamp set, Texture Tiles I.

With Mother’s Day only days away, A Mother’s Love Clear Stamp Set is perfect for quick and easy cards as well as more layered cards.  I decided to create a vintage watercolor card- an easy card since the main panel is just one layer :-)

I love to participate with online challenges and will be linking this card to the Simon Says Work It Wednesday April “Mother’s Day” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1).  Ink just the large rose portion of the Rose Banner image with archival black ink, stamp onto a piece of watercolor paper and heat set with a heat tool. Stamp the bees from Rose Banner and the sentiment from A Mother’s Love with archival ink and heat set with a heat tool.

2). Using a Speedball® Elegant Writer pen, outline the petals of the roses as well as the bees, use a water brush to dilute the ink and watercolor the images.

3). Once you are satisfied with the “antique” watercolor, add a bit of light rose distress ink for the roses.

4). Ink the script image from Texture Tiles I with tea stain distress ink and stamp repeatedly over the background. Trim the panel and add the polished hemp twine strands (wrapping the ends behind the panel).

5). Mount onto a piece of kraft cardstock, trim and mount onto the light pink card front before adhering to the white card base.

6). Finish off the card by adding a few crystal drops.
