Look at this great
photo? I absolutely love all the bright colors and the patterns- they inspired
my Classy and Elegant/ Mixed Media card!
As I mentioned
in my previous posts, I have such a large collection of stamps of which many of them have never been inked or not inked in years, so I am
trying to give them some “love”.
I
created this card with a set that I have never inked yet from Joy Clair Stamps –
Paisley Bouquet and paired it with a digital sentiment that was in my stash
from Power Poppy by Marcella.
If you have not had a
chance to visit us at The Card Concept or the other challenge sites yet, I
hope you will find time to do so- such gorgeous inspiration from all!
To
create this card:
1).
Score and fold a piece of 4.25” x 11” heavy white cardstock in half. Cut a piece of turquoise and white cardstock,
both to 2 ¼ x 5 ¼” . Emboss both with a
Mandala embossing folder, mount onto a piece of espresso cardstock, add a strip
of espresso cardstock to cover the seam before mounting the entire panel onto
the white card base.
2). De-static another piece of white cardstock with
an embossing powder tool, stamp the main image from Paisley Bouquet (Joy Clair
Stamps) using Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat
set with the heat tool. Once the embossing
has cooled, color the image with water-based markers.
3).
Die cut the colored image with an oval die.
Also cut two additional ovals from espresso cardstock (using the same
size oval as the main image), layer the two espresso ovals together to create a
small frame for the main oval image. Layer
together and adhere to the card front using dimensional foam.
4).
Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the flower petals (difficult to see
in the photo) and an extra fine white paint pen to add highlights and details
to some of the flowers.
5). Using a software program (I use the retired My Digital Studio™ from Stampin' Up! but you could use Word® or another photo editing software program), import the digi stamp image, re-size and print out onto white cardstock. Trim the sentiment, create the flag
ends, layer onto espresso cardstock (trim again to match) and mount onto the card front using dimensional foam.
6).
Using distress oxide ink along with a flourish stencil, stencil around the main
image and over the sentiment.
7).
Add a few rhinestones to finish off the card.
