TCC146 Magical Wonder of the Season

Hi Friends!

Welcome back to The Card Concept Challenge! We are starting our January- June 2021 season and the first challenge for 2021 is #146 {Winter Warmth}.

We are excited to be back with a few new designers on our DT- we hope you will take a moment to visit and see how they were inspired as well:-)

Look at this fun photo!  I was inspired by the Scandinavian images (reindeer, snowflakes) along with the red and white to create a somewhat vintage style Clean and Layered card Christmas card (I have a goal to create at least 15 cards per month- I mailed out over 150 this year and still did not mail enough, lol!).

I am also participating with the A Place To Start January 2021 “Challenge #1- Anything Goes” Challenge.

Again, if you have not had a chance to visit The Card Concept (or A Place to Start) yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

For the background panel- using scraps of designer paper from a previous project, adhere to a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of white cardstock and emboss with a knit embossing folder.

Trim the embossed panel to approx. 3 ¾” x 5”, trim the panel to 4” x 5 ¼”.

Adhere the strip of red satin ribbon, wrap the ends behind the panel and mount onto a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of black cardstock. Trim and mount onto a white card base.

Prepare a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the sentiment with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing powder has cooled, die cut with a label die and die cut the same size label from black cardstock.  Cut the black label in half, adhere to the back of the sentiment panel and mount onto the card front with chipboard (or dimensional foam).

Die cut two of the deer head dies from black cardstock, mount onto one another to create a thicker die cut.

To finish off the card, adhere the layered deer head die cut to the card front with chipboard on the left side (to match the level of the sentiment).

Stamp Sets: Magical Wonder (retired Stampin’ Up!)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black

Paper/Cardstock: White, Black; retired Christmas Quilt 6x6 Paper Pad scraps (Stampin’ Up!)

Tools/Accessories: Gemini, Jr., Dies- Savvy Stamps- Deer Head, Little B- Frames; Knit Embossing Folder (retired FSJ), Heat Tool, Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Single Face Real Red Satin Ribbon (from my stash)

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- we would love for you to create a card based on our Winter Warmth photo and join us at The Card Concept!  The challenge is open until January 18th at noon EST.

Julie, first I would like to thank you for the shout out to our challenge and then I would like to thank you for submitting this amazing project in response to our challenge at a Place to Start!

I have the embossing folder and similar paper (I never knew what to do with them.) Thanks for the inspiration. I will have to case this when my card orders roll in for Christmas 2021!
