May Your Cup Overflow

Hi Friends!

This week at the Stamp Simply blog, the Stamp Simply Design Team have been sharing black and white cards with a “pop” of color.   Plus, Stamp Simply is a Super Sponsor of the National Coffee Day 2023 Blog Hop!

Plus, it is time for the  National Coffee Day 2023 Blog Hop and Stamp Simply is a Super Sponsor!

I decided to create a black and white with a "pop" of color coffee card using the Have A Cup on Us Bundle along with the Sunflower Season stamp set (using a fun masking technique).

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy playing along with online challenges, so I am linking this card to the Can You Handle the Pressure “Anything Goes with optional twist Bees/Beehive” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to check out my Sister DT cards yet, or the National Coffee Day 2023 Blog Hop , I hope you will do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Emboss a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of white cardstock with the Sizzix 3D Texture Fades A6 Intertwine Embossing Folder.

Trim the panel to approx. 4” x 5 ¼” and mount onto a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of black cardstock.

De-static a piece of the Sunset Ink Drops paper (approx. 2” x 4” piece) with an embossing powder tool, ink the sentiment from Have A Cup On Us with Versafine Onyx Black, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

FYI- my piece of ink drops paper is approx. 2” x 4” and is part of a cut off from a previous project- I love using up my scraps!

Mount onto black cardstock (approx. 2 ¼”x 4 ¼”) and adhere to the embossed panel.

Wrap a piece of the black and white baker’s twine over the panel and adhere the entire panel onto a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” white card base.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the coffee cup stamp from Have A Cup on Us with Versafine Onyx Black, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, stamp the coffee cup image onto a sticky note or masking paper, carefully cut out the cup to keep the outside covered, and mask around the coffee cup image.

De-static the coffee cup image with an embossing powder took, ink the sunflower image from Sunflower Season with Versafine Onyx Black, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Remove the masking paper and die cut the coffee cup with the coordinating Have a Cup On Us die

Color the sunflower with yellow water-based markers and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Finish off the card with the black and white baker’s twine  bow and a few black rhinestones.

Stamp Sets: Have A Cup On Us, Sunflower Season (Stamp Simply)

Inks/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- So Saffron, Crushed Curry, Hello Honey

Cardstock/Paper: White,  Black, Craft Consortium Ink Drops-Sunset

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., Have A Cup on Us Bundle (coffee cup die) Sizzix 3D Texture Fades A6 Intertwine Embossing Folder, Divine Twine Baker’s Twine- Black , Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Black Rhinestones

To celebrate, I am sharing a fall coffee card designed with several stamp sets and supplies from Stamp Simply!

To create this card:

De-static two panels of white cardstock (4 ¼” x 5 ½”) with an embossing powder tool.

With Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamp the coffee cup /images from the Have A Cup On Us Bundle and on the other panel, stamp the sentiment from Welcome Fall.

Apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, create a mask with a sticky note and stamp/heat emboss the leaf image from Harvest onto the coffee cups in the same manner as above.

Die cut the coffee cups using the coordinating Have A Cup On Us Bundle dies and color with water-based markers. Add a bit of shimmer with a clear glitter pen to both cups and set aside.

Trim the panel with the “pumpkins and spice…” sentiment to approx. 2 ¾” x 4 ¼” .

Ink the subway style background stamp from A Cup of Java with teal ink (I used the same teal marker to color the stamp), stamp onto the bottom of the panel.

De-static the panel and heat emboss the sentiment “Rise & Shine” from the A Cup of Java stamp set with clear embossing powder (same steps as above for the heat embossing).

Add a strip of plaid designer paper (a scrap from the Doodlebug Design Pumpkin Spice 6x6Paper Pad) and mount onto a piece of teal cardstock.

Wrap a few strands of natural twine (wrapping the twine ends behind the panel) add the twine bow with a button.

Trim the pieces of Carta Bella Welcome Autumn designer paper to approx. 3 ¾” x 2 ½” and layer onto a piece of white cardstock.  Mount the panel onto a piece of teal cardstock, trim again and mount onto a piece of black cardstock, finally mounting onto a white card base.

Adhere a piece of 3/8" white crochet lace and a piece of scrap cardstock to cover the raw edges of the designer paper.

Adhere the layered twine/button panel onto the card front using dimensional foam and add the stamped/die cut coffee cups with dimensional foam as well.

Finish off the card with a few black rhinestones.

As many of you know, I enjoy participating with online challenges and used the Splitcoaststampers SC345 Sketch for the layout and will also be linking to the Simon Says Monday “Emboss It” Challenge, the Addicted to Stamps and More #439 Any Occasion Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #563-#564 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

National Coffee Week- Taste and See

 Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far!  In honor of National Coffee Day this past week (09/29), I am sharing another card designed using stamps, dies and paper from Stamp Simply!

I personally love the smell of coffee, but only drink one cup every week or so.  I do drink a few café latte Protein Drinks every day though (very similar to iced coffee) and I love the coffee flavor.

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy playing along with online challenges and will be linking this card to the A Place To Start September 2021#9 Patterned Paper, Please Challenge, Addicted to Stamps and More #415 “Die Cuts or Stencils” Challenge (I used Die Cuts) and the Word Art Wednesday #511-#512 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the Stamp Simply blog or the other challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

For the background, ink the small subway style text image stamp from the A Cup of Java with distress oxide inks (I randomly applied Rusty Hinge, Ground Espresso and Spiced Marmalade over the image), repeatedly stamp onto a piece of white cardstock and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the oxide inks dry, stamp the coffee bean image from A Cup of Java with Ground Espresso distress oxide ink over the panel, heating with a heat tool to speed the drying process.

Use a stencil brush to apply Antique Linen distress oxide ink to “age” the paper, trim to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”.

Mount a strip of the rust pattern paper from the Carta Bella Welcome Autumn 6x6 Paper Pad onto espresso cardstock.

Die cut a piece of white cardstock with the Tim Holtz Crochet Die, sponge Ground Espresso distress oxide ink over the die cut “lace”, mount behind the strip of layered designer paper.

On a scrap piece of the light birch designer paper from the Craft Consortium Wood Textures 6x6 Paper Pad, ink the same background stamp with the distress oxide inks as in the steps above for the background panel, lightly stamp over the birch paper.  Heat set with a heat tool to dry thoroughly.

De-static the scrap birch piece with an embossing powder tool, stamp the verse sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink from
Coffee or Tea?, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Layer onto the patterned paper strip and adhere to the card front.

Die cut the “heat swirl” from the A Cup of Java dies, adhere to the background panel.

Mount the entire background panel onto a piece of espresso cardstock, adhere to a white card base.

Die cut the smaller coffee cup with the coordinating A Cup of Java dies from the fall leaves pattern in the Carta Bella Welcome Autumn 6x6 paper pad, layer a scrap piece of the Welcome Autumn paper and Tim Holtz Crochet Lace die for the “wrapper”.

Mount the coffee cup fie with dimensional foam.

To finish off the card, use a clear glitter marker to add shimmer to the “heat swirl” and add a pearl to the center of the coffee wrapper.

Stamp Sets:  A Cup of Java Bundle, Coffee or Tea? (Stamp Simply)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distress Oxide- Antique Linen, Ground Espresso, Rusty Hinge, Spiced Marmalade; Zig Wink of Stella Brush- Clear Glitter Marker

Cardstock/Paper: White, Espresso,  Carta Bella Welcome Autumn 6x6 Paper Pad , Craft Consortium Wood Textures 6x6 Paper Pad

Let's Do Coffee

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a card for the 2021 Spring/Summer Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop that was designed using the Coffee & Friends 6x6 Paper Pad by Echo Park along with stamps, dies, ribbon, etc. from Stamp Simply.

The spring colors in the  Coffee & Friends paper are so pretty with the cute coffee images!   I paired several different patterns from the paper pad with the coffee themed A Cup of Java stamp set and dies (along with a few other Stamp Simply supplies) and Tangerine seam binding- a perfect match for this paper!

In addition to the Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop, I incorporated the Splitcoaststampers SC229 Sketch Challenge (from 2009- so thankful they never expire, lol!) into the design.

I am also playing along with the Simon Says Wednesday “Use 2 or More Patterned Papers” Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #483-#484 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to stop by the Stamp Simply blog yet, or the other the challenge sites, I encourage you to take the time to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Trim a piece of coral designer paper from the Coffee & Friends paper pad, mount onto a piece of white cardstock, trim again and adhere to a piece of black cardstock.

Trim a piece of black plaid paper from the Coffee & Friends paper pad, mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim close to the edge and adhere to the background panel.

On a piece of green cardstock, use a stencil brush with the Tim Holtz Lace Layering Stencil to apply green distress ink onto the cardstock.

Ink the background stamp image from A Cup of Java with espresso ink and repeatedly stamp onto the stenciled cardstock.  Trim and mount onto black cardstock before adhering to the background panel.

De-static a piece of black cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the “Let’s Do Coffee” sentiment from the Stick Family Sentiment Add-Ons stamp set with Versamark™ ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool. Die cut the sentiment with the Fishtail Sentiment Banners Dies (die-cutting two additional dies to mount behind the sentiment for added strength).

Die cut a piece of white cardstock with the Tim Holtz Crochet Die (I had this piece on my desk from a previous project), mount behind the sentiment and add to the background panel.

Mount the entire background panel onto a white card base.

Die cut the coffee cup using the A Cup of Java die set (I used the smaller coffee cup size) from the patterned paper from  Coffee & Friends paper.  Mount onto black cardstock and trim close to the edge.

Mount the coffee die cut to the card front using dimensional foam (or chipboard) and add the Tangerine seam binding bow to finish off the card.
