Choose Happiness- A Color and A Sketch Challenge

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to share another card that I created yesterday using the FMS173 Sketch along with the HSSCC205Color Challenge

Again, if you not have already visited either site yet, I hope you will find the time to do so- fantastic ideas from all!

To create this Clean and Layered (CAL) card:

Using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, stamp three of the flowers along with the bird and sentiment onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamp the leaf image twice onto another panel of Very Vanilla cardstock.

Color the leaves using the Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Write Marker and add a few shadows with the Sahara Sand Marker.

Color the flowers using an AquaPainter™ with Calypso Coral Classic Ink and add shadows with the Stampin’ Write Calypso Marker and use the Crushed Curry Marker for the flower centers.

Carefully cut out ("fussy-cut") each of the flowers as well as the bird.

Use the Crushed Curry, Calyspo Coral and Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Write Markers to color the flourish around the sentiment and use the Artisan Label Punch to punch out the sentiment.

Using the Artisan Label Punch, punch out another piece from Coastal Cabana cardstock, cut the label in half horizontally and trim toward the centers on the points that were cut in half.  Layer the Coastal Cabana split label behind the sentiment.

Trim a piece of retired Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper (DSP) and mount onto a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock.

Add this panel to a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, trim and mount onto the Calypso Coral card base.

Trim and mount the stamped leaf panel onto a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock and add to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Adhere the flowers and bird using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the sentiment to finish off the card.

Walk on the Wild Side- A Watercolor Birthday :-)

Hi Stampers!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful week so far! This past weekend, while I had the new set, Walk in the Wild and along with the 2013-2015 In Colors out, I  decided to create a masculine card using the Moose image.  I am so thrilled with the realistic art forms in this set :-)!

I also incorporated a modified version of the Splitcoaststampers SC440 Sketch (added a central panel - hope that was OK) :-)

To create this card:

Using Early Espresso Classic Ink, stamp the Moose image onto Whisper White cardstock.  Using the AquaPainter™, pick up ink from Coastal Cabana for the sky, Baked Brown Sugar for the Moose and Pistachio Pudding for the grass.

Use the Distressing Tool to distress the edges and with Sponge Daubers, apply Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink along with a bit of Early Espresso Classic Ink to the edges.  Adhere to a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and distress the edges as well.  Use the Color Spritzer Tool along with an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write marker to add a bit more distressing.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Baked Brown Sugar cardstock.

Ink the smooth interior of the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and emboss a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock.  Cut this embossed piece into thirds and add one third at the top of the Early Espresso card base and the other third at the bottom (save the extra piece for another card later).

Add the knotted Hemp Twine (retired) to the embossed Baked Brown Sugar layer and add this to the card base.   Adhere the Moose focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock, punch out with the Large Oval Punch, distress and sponge the edges, spritz with the marker as above and add to a piece of Early Espresso cardstock punched with the Artisan Label Punch to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Walk in the Wild, Wetlands

Ink: Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar, Cool Cabana, Pistachio Pudding,  Stampin’ Write Early Espresso marker

Paper: Whisper White, Baked Brown Sugar, Cool Cabana, Early Espresso

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Large Oval Punch , Artisan Label Punch, Distressing Tool, Sponge Daubers, Color Spritzer Tool (retired), Hemp Twine (retired)

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a great Friday!!

Sunflower Prayers- A Sketch with a Color Challenge :-)

Hi Stampers!

I hope you are having a great weekend so far!  I decided to stay up late (or early depending on your point of view:-) and create one more card.  This one incorporates the PalsPaper Arts PPA159 Sketch along with the Dynamic Duos DD53 Color Challenge.  Again, if you have not done so yet, please take a moment to stop by each site and check them out!

Whenever I use black lately, I find that I tend to gravitate towards either heat embossing, or in this case, my printer ink and My Digital Studio (MDS).  I love the crisp clean lines that you can get with the digital image plus as I studied the color combo, I knew that I had the perfect images already printed ready to go!!  Love using MDS for this very reason.

To create this card:

Print the image from the Sunflower Background Brush stamp set (resize to approx. ½ the size of the actual stamp) and the sentiment from Thoughts and Prayers onto Whisper White cardstock.

Carefully cut out the sunflower image and cut the petals apart to remove all of the white background.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Pacific Point Designer Series Paper and a piece of Basic Black cardstock.  Lightly sand the Pacific Point DSP and cut into a 3 ½” square, mount onto Basic Black and again onto Whisper White cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Adorning Accents Edgelit™ to cut two lacy edge pieces for the top and the bottom of the card and assemble per the sketch.

Add the 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon bow along with the punched sentiment to finish off the card (the punch used is a sneak peek of the new Artisan Label Punch).  Add the Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Sunflower (MDS), Thoughts and Prayers (MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black

Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Pacific Point DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Pearls, Artisan Label Punch

Thanks again for stopping by- have a wonderful day!!
