The Card Concept #192 Happy Easter

Hi Friends!

Welcome to our #192 {Happy Easter} at The Card Concept

The Card Concept is a bi-weekly challenge and we would love for you to create a card based on our inspiration photo and join us!

This is a fabulous fireplace and I love how they decorated it for Easter.  I was inspired by the neutral colors, the cross on the mantle and the overall theme of Easter for my Clean and Layered card.

As many of you who follow my blog also know, I enjoy participating with other online challenges (I know how much work goes into maintaining a challenge blog and want to give support).  I will be linking this card to the Word Art Wednesday #589-#590 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not already visited us at The Card Concept, I hope you will find the time to do so.  Gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the DT as well as the Word Art Wednesday challenge site.

This card was fairly quick and easy to create.  The verse sentiment from the Easter stamp set (Stamp Simply)  was heat embossed on vellum, die cut and then layered onto a piece of the floral patterned paper from the Gather at Home designer paper (Carta Bella).

The cross from the Easter is for Jesus stamp set was heat embossed onto a piece of designer paper from the Craft Consortium Wood Textures 6x6 paper pad (all from Stamp Simply) before die cutting with the coordinating die.

The photo corner and side pieces of green plaid designer paper were hand cut from another pattern in the Gather at Home paper pad.

A piece of white crochet lace and pearls were added to finish off the card.

I hope you are inspired to create a card and join us for our #192 {Happy Easter} Challenge.

TCC152 He Has Risen!

Hi Friends!

Welcome to The Card Concept #152 {Celebrate Easter} Challenge!

What a fabulous Easter/Spring tiered tray! I love all of the different elements, bunnies, carrots and textures!

I was inspired by the neutrals as well as the colors and that fabulous “He Has Risen” block on the bottom tier to create a Clean and Simple/Classy and Elegant layered card!

In celebration of Easter Week and Resurrection Sunday, I wanted to create a card reflecting the true meaning of Easter and pulled out several stamp sets, dies and accessories from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store for the design.

I am linking this card to the Simon Says Monday Easter/Spring Challenge and the Watercooler Wednesday WWC312 “Helen’s Challenge: All About Occasions” and the Word ArtWednesday #485-#486 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit The Card Concept, or the other challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the cross image from Easter is for Jesus and the sentiment “He Has Risen” from the He Has Risen stamp set with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, stamp onto the prepared panel, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut the cross with the coordinating die from the Easter is for Jesus Bundle and the sentiment using the Fishtail Sentiments Banner Dies.

Repeat the same steps above to heat emboss the floral image from Floral Clusters-Summer Roses and die cut with the coordinating die.

Watercolor the cross and floral image using water-based markers.

Emboss a piece of white cardstock with a sheet music embossing folder, trim to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”.

Add a strip of 2" Raschel Peach Lace and a piece of 1/2" Dusty Olive Seam Binding Ribbon over the top edge of the lace, wrapping the ends of both behind the panel.

Adhere the die-cut floral image and mount the entire background panel to a white card base.

Add the cross die cut and sentiment with dimensional foam (or chipboard).

Finish off the card with a few pearls in the upper left-hand corner and center of the flowers.

Stamp Sets:
Easter is for Jesus Bundle, He Has Risen, Floral Clusters- Summer Roses

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, Stampin’ Write Markers- Peach Parfait, Lemon Lime Twist

Paper/Cardstock: Whisper White

Tools/Accessories: Gemini, Jr. , Stamp Simply Steel Dies- Floral Cluster Single, Fishtail Sentiment Banners; Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Raschel Lace- Peach, ½” Dusty Olive Seam Binding, Pearls

Thanks again for taking the time to visit!  We hope you will have the time to create a card based on our inspiration photo and join us at The Card Concept! The challenge is open until April 12th at noon EDT.

Easter Trio of Tags

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a set of Easter tags designed with the Stamp Simply February Mini Release Stamp/Die Bundle sets, He Lives and Easter is for Jesus along with the Welcome Easter 6x6 Paper Pad and other supplies from Stamp Simply.

Generally, when I am creating cards, I will stamp additional images while I have the stamps/dies out and save for a future project.  As I was straightening up my desk area, I noticed several scraps of the Welcome Easter paper along with a few stamped images plus scraps of die cut lace, that I thought would be perfect for tags.

As many of you know, I enjoy playing along with online challenges and will be linking the daffodil tag to the Tic-Tac-Toe #104 Challenge (middle column down Die-Cut, Flower, Colouring) along with the Word Art Wednesday #481-#482 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

I will also be adding the bunny tag to the Animal Friends "March Bunnies” Challenge.

If you have not had time to check out the Stamp Simply blog or the above challenge sites yet, I hope you will do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create the trio of tags:

Die cut three tags from white cardstock using the second to the largest die in the Sizzix Framelits Dies- Tim Holtz Tag Collection.

De-static white cardstock for the stamped images using an embossing powder tool, stamp the rabbit and egg images from Easter is for Jesus stamp/die bundle along with the Daffodil image from He Lives using a pigment black ink onto the prepared cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die-cut the eggs, rabbit and daffodils using the coordinating dies (I also die cut additional pieces from white cardstock to mount behind the colored images to give them additional strength).

De-static scraps of white cardstock and heat emboss the sentiments with clear embossing powder (as in the steps above), Die cut the sentiments with the Stamp Simply Fishtail Sentiments Banners dies and layer along with the scraps of Welcome Easter, Crochet Lace pieces and stamped images onto the tags.

Add a bit of tangerine seam binding to finish off the tags.

Stamp/Die Sets: He Lives, Easter is for Jesus (Stamp Simply)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Water-based Markers- Zig® Clean Color and Stampin’ Up!

Paper: White Cardstock, Welcome Easter 6x6 Paper Pad by Echo Park

Easter is for Jesus

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the February Mini Release from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store! This past week, we have been sharing the rest of Stamp Simply Design Team’s cards on the Stamp Simply blog- so much inspiration, I hope you will check it out!

With Easter just around the corner, this new release has two Easter sets along with a sentiment set perfect for Baptism, Communion, and other occasions.

Plus, in addition to the new release, coordinating dies were created for some of our favorite stamp sets and a new paper pad from Echo Park!

For this card, I combined the new Easter is for Jesus stamp/die bundle along with the Welcome Easter 6x6 paper pad from Echo Park.

I love all the sentiments in the Easter is for Jesus stamp set, but especially thought that the “Silly Rabbit” along with “Easter is for Jesus” would be great together for a muted background for the sweet bunny image.

Plus, I thought that the two Easter is for Jesus sentiments, “He died for you” and “Can you live for Him?” would be perfect to combine on one card with the Cross image as well as the bunny and the eggs.

What a reminder of the Real Reason for Easter- Christ died for you and me!  Can you live for Him?

Right now, there is a sale on the entire release as a bundle for $69.95 (offer good through 02/28) you still have time to create those special Easter cards to send to your family!

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy participating with online challenges plus I have a personal goal to create a card for each of the over 800 sketch challenges at Splitcoaststampers, so this card incorporates the SC839 Sketch (modified slightly with the stirp of seam binding) for the layout.

I am also linking to the Simon Says Wednesday “Anything Goes” Challenge and the Watercooler Wednesday #310 Marsha's “All About Occasions” Challenge.

If you have not had time to check out the  Stamp Simply blog or the above challenge sites yet, I hope you will do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

De-static a few pieces of white cardstock with an
embossing powder tool, stamp the cross image, rabbit and eggs from Easter is for Jesus using a pigment black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing is cooled, use the coordinating dies from the Easter is for Jesus bundle to die cut each of the images.

Watercolor the images using water-based markers and set aside to dry.

Trim a piece of the green plaid paper from the Welcome Easter 6x6 Paper Pad by Echo Park  to 4” x 5 ¼”.   De-static the plaid paper with an embossing powder tool, stamp the “He Died for you” and “Can you live for Him?” sentiments from Easter is for Jesus using a pigment black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, mount onto a piece of black cardstock (trimming close to the edge).

Add a strip of ½” Black Seam Binding (wrap the edges behind the panel) and mount onto a white card base.

Mount the Easter is for Jesus sentiments, “Silly Rabbit” along with “Easter is for Jesus” onto a clear block and instead of ink, use a turquoise water-based marker to color the sentiments.  Stamp onto a square piece of white cardstock, “huff” onto the sentiment to re-moisten the stamps and continue this process to stamp repeatedly (creating the background).

Trim the piece to approx. 2 ¾” square, mount onto a piece of black cardstock and trim close to the edge.

Die cut a strip of white cardstock with the Sizzix Thinlit Dies by Tim Holtz- Crochet to create a piece of paper lace and adhere behind the background panel created in the step above.

Adhere the background panel with dimensional foam (or chipboard).

Add the colored, die-cut bunny image along with the die-cut eggs (using dimensional foam/chipboard as needed for dimension).

Add the cross on an angle (tucking behind the bunny panel) to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Easter is for Jesus Bundle (Stamp Simply)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black, Zig Clean Color Markers- Light Gray, Pinks, Green, Yellow, Turquoise, Brown

Cardstock/Paper: White, Black; Welcome Easter 6x6 Paper Pad by Echo Park

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., Stamp Simply Dies- Floral Cluster & Sprigs Dies (part of the Floral Cluster Bundle), Sizzix Thinlit Dies by Tim Holtz- Crochet, Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, ½” Black Seam Binding

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend/week!
