Poppies in Paris- Two Challenges in One Card!

Hi Stampers!
I created this card using the colors from this week’s Pals Paper Arts PPA92 Challenge (see http://www.palspaperarts.com) and the CCMC149 sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary (see http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com).  You will need to check out their sites to see all of the amazing creations that both Design Teams have created along with all of the other fabulous entries!

I must admit that I have not used Poppy Parade as often as the other In-Colors but I do love the drama that it creates when paired with the other colors in this challenge:-)

To create this card:
Heat emboss the images and sentiment using the Embossing Buddy to de-static the cardstock and Black EP.
Use the Big Shot to cut the tag from the Two Tags Die and emboss the Poppy Parade panel using the Framed Tulips EF.

Color the flowers using SU! Markers in Peach Parfait and Poppy Parade.

Assemble the panels and finish off with pearls and satin ribbon.

Stamp Sets: Artistic Etchings, Fabulous Florets, Fresh Cuts
Ink:  Versamark
Cardstock:  Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade, Basic Black, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz DSP, Peach Parfait DSP
Accessories: Big Shot, Two Tags Die, Framed Tulips EF, Embossing Buddy, Heat Gun, Black EP, Pearls, Small and Medium Oval Punch, 5/8” Black Satin Ribbon

Thanks again for visiting- I hope all of you have a terrific week!

Best Wishes - Color Challenge Swap Card

Hi Stampers!
Finally I have been able to stamp again!  I want to thank all of you that visit my blog daily- it is so encouraging to me that you have taken the time to stop by my little blog:)  It means so much to me, especially since the past few weeks have been very stressful at my full-time accounting job.
My upline, Cindy Fodor had her quarterly demonstrator meeting this morning (we had such a wonderful time!) and I had a difficult time becoming deciding on a design for the swap card.  We were focusing on sets from the new Summer Mini and I since I seemed to be experiencing a "design block", I did not start on the swap card until last night (of course, worked on them until the wee hours of the morning- my penalty for procrastination:-)).
I decided to use the colors from this week’s ColourQ CQC83 (if you have a chance, please see http://colourq.blogspot.com for the Design Team samples and all of the other entries).  The colors are so bright and "summery" - one of the main reasons I love the color challenges is that they definitely “challenge” me to use colors that I would not normally pair together and this color challenge was no exception:-)  Generally it is acceptable to add a neutral so I chose black (I love black with turquoise and yellow).
To create this card:
Use the embossing buddy to de-static a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamp the image from Fabulous Florets with Versamark.  Apply Clear Embossing Powder and heat emboss.  Apply Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait and Tangerine Tango Classic Ink with Sponge Daubers and wipe off the excess ink from the embossing when finished.
Use the Big Shot to emboss a piece of Tempting Turquoise with the Vintage Wallpaper EF and a piece of Basic Black with the Square Lattice EF.
Layer the Basic Black onto the Tempting Turquoise and layer the focal image onto the Basic Black.  Attach the 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon bow and layer the entire panel onto Basic Black.
Stamp the sentiment from Short and Sweet in Basic Black on Whisper White and punch out with the Word Window Punch.  Punch a layer of Basic Black and Tempting Turquoise with the Modern Label Punch (cut the Tempting Turquoise Modern Label piece in half and trim the center area at angles so you can mount this behind the Basic Black layer and the Tempting Turquoise layer will only show on the ends).  Assemble the layers, position on the card and adhere the pearls.
Stamp Sets:   Fabulous Florets (Summer Mini), Short & Sweet
Ink:  Versamark, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait, Tangerine Tango
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise,  Whisper White
Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Lattice and Vintage Wallpaper EF, Embossing Buddy, Heat Gun, Clear EP, 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Sponge Daubers, Pearls, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch
Thanks for stopping by- I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend and Happy Mother’s Day!

SSC199 Praying For You

Hi Stampers!
I love the weekly sketch challenges at Stamping 411 SSC192 (see http://www.stamping411.blogspot.com/ ) and wanted to create a monochromatic card using the new stamp set, Fabulous Florets.  If you have a chance to visit the 411 Operators- the projects this week are absolutely beautiful!

To create this card:
Use the Big Shot with the Framed Tulips EF and emboss a piece of DSP (I used a piece from Lap of Luxury) and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit with Basic Gray.    Lightly sand the raised edges on the DSP to expose the white core.
Stamp the floral image on Whisper White with Basic Gray and layer onto Basic Black.  Punch the edge with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.
Add the sentiment, bow and pearls to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets:  Fabulous Florets, Thoughts and Prayers
Ink:  Basic Gray
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Lap of Luxury DSP
Accessories:  Big Shot, Framed Tulips EF, Sandpaper, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Decorative XL Label Punch, Pearls and 5/8” Black Satin Ribbon
Thanks again for stopping by and I hope all of you are enjoying this Easter season!

CQC80- One Color Combination, Three Cards!

Hi Stampers!
As I worked on the design for a card using the ColourQ CQC80 colors for this week’s
challenge (see http://colourq.blogspot.com ), I ended up with quite a few “experiments” that
I decided to incorporate into three separate cards.
As I mentioned in my last post, I have scraps from other card projects that I store in ziplock bags, so when I pulled out the challenge colors, I decided to use as many scraps as possible.
To me, these cards qualify as Clean and Simple (CAS) – not an easy technique for me to create but I felt that I wanted to go “outside the box”.

The first card was created using the Emboss Resist technique- I used the Embossing Buddy to de-static a piece of Whisper White cardstock , stamped with large floral spray image from the new set Fabulous Florets with Versamark, heat emboss with White EP.  Use sponge daubers to apply Crumb Cake, Tangerine Tango and Cherry Cobbler around the image.  Lightly wipe off the ink from the embossed area.
Punch the border on a piece of retired DSP and Whisper White, punch out the sentiment, layer and complete the card with pearls.

The second card was created with a tag that was already cut with the Big Shot and the Two Tags die.  Stamp the floral and leaf outline images with Cherry Cobbler, Tangerine Tango and Kiwi Kiss. Sponge edges with Cherry Cobbler  and stamp the sentiment with Cherry Cobbler.
Layer the DSP and create the panels.  The flower was created with the Scallop Circle Punch and a piece of Tangerine Tango that had been previously embossed with the Square Lattice EF.  A Kiwi Kiss button and pearls finish off the card.

The third card was an experiment using the new
Flower Garden  EF.  I embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with the EF and flipped the cardstock over and to sponge Tangerine Tango and Cherry Cobbler on the de-bossed side.
A little bit of layering of DSP, add the bow and pearls and the card was finished!  I could become hooked on the CAS Style!
Stamp Sets:   Fabulous Florets (available 05/01), Short & Sweet, Simply Said, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink:  Versamark, Crumb Cake, Kiwi Kiss, Cherry Cobbler, Tangerine Tango
Cardstock:   Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Kiwi Kiss, Cherry Cobbler, Tangerine Tango
Accessories:  Big Shot, Two Tags Die, Square Lattice and Flower Garden EF (available 05/01) , Heat Gun, White EP, 5/8” White Satin Ribbon, Sponge Daubers, Pearls, Punches- Decorative XL Label, Scallop Circle, Large Oval, Pinking Hearts Border, Scallop Trim Border.
