SC610 Give Thanks for Unknown Blessings

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far!  It’s time for the new Splitcoaststampers’ SC610 Sketch Challenge and I decided to create another card with the September 2016 Our Daily Bread Designs Release Stamp Set, A-Maize-ing along with the coordinating ODBD Indian Corn Die.

If you have not already visited the above challenge sites, I hope you will have a chance to do so- fabulous inspiration from my Design Team "Sisters" at the SCS Sketch Gallery as well as the wonderful Word Art Wednesday and The Paper Players challenge sites!

To create this card:

Emboss a piece of rust colored cardstock with the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Vintage Flourish  Pattern Die, trim a bit on the edges and mount onto a piece of pear cardstock.

Die cut and emboss a piece of pear cardstock with the ODBD Pierced Rectangle Dies, cut the panel in half (the cut area will be covered by the vertical strips), mount onto the card front in the center (per the sketch) and add a strip of rust satin ribbon (wrapping the ends of the ribbon behind the panel).

Mount the layered background panel onto the card base.

Die cut and emboss a piece of white cardstock with the ODBD Trellis Die and mount onto the card front centering the ribbon in the middle of the die.

Ink the ODBD A-Maize-ing Stamp Set image with archival black ink and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock , die cut and emboss with the coordinating ODBD Indian Corn Die.

Color the stamped image with colored pencils and add white highlights with an extra fine white paint pen.

Stamp the sentiment from the ODBD A-Maize-ing Stamp Set with archival black ink, die cut and emboss with the ODBD Double Stitched Rectangle Dies, then re-insert the die cut along one edge back into the die (matching up the stitching on the top and bottom) to die cut and emboss once more.  FYI- this allows you to create a narrow rectangle (again, per the sketch).

Mount the sentiment onto a piece of rust cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of pear cardstock.

Per the sketch, trim and create the two additional rectangles, each a bit longer than the sentiment panel- the plaid and polka dot pattern from the ODBD Birthday Brights 6x6 Paper Pad.

Mount the polka dot layer onto rust cardstock, trim and layer onto pear cardstock.

Mount the plaid layer onto pear cardstock, trim and adhere this layer to the card front.

Mount the layered sentiment panel directly onto the polka dot layer, add dimensional foam behind the polka dot layer and adhere the entire panel to the card front.

Mount the stamped/die cut Indian Corn image with dimensional foam onto the sentiment layer and add the pearls to the corners to finish off the card.

This was a fun sketch to work with this week- I hope I have inspired you to pull out your supplies and come join in on the fun with us at Splitcoaststampers :-)

Thanks again for visiting- hugs and have a blessed week, my friends!

ODBDSLC278 Dots and Dashes

Hi Friends!

We want to see your dots and dashes (for ex: pierced dies, stitched dies, polka dot paper, etc.) and  are looking forward to seeing what you create!

You have until October 2nd to join us for a chance to be spotlighted for the Shining the Light award or to win a $15 ODBD gift certificate (one random participant will be chosen).  To be spotlighted for the Shining the Light Award, you must use ODBD stamps (or stamps from our sister companies: North Coast Creations or Artistic Outpost).

I decided to create a card combining the new ODBD September 2016 Release stamp sets, A-Maize-ing and Seasons Change along with the coordinating ODBD Indian Corn Die

For my dashes, I used the ODBD Double Stitched Rectangles Dies as well ODBD Ornate Hearts Die (embossed dashes along the edge of the center solid heart- a bit difficult to see in the photo) and for my dots- the outside border of the ODBD Ornate Hearts Die has piercing as well as the as the frame of the ODBD Flourished Star Pattern Die and the ODBD Filigree Frames Dies used for the sentiment.

I also used the ODBD Rectangles Dies and the background paper is from the ODBD Americana Quilt Collection 6x6 Paper Pad.

To create this card:

Die cut a piece of berry cardstock with the ODBD Flourished Star Pattern Die, mount onto a piece of white cardstock, trim close to the die cut edge and mount this onto the berry card base.

Die cut a piece of the ODBD Americana Quilt Collection 6x6 Paper Pad with the ODBD Rectangles Dies mount onto a piece of white cardstock die cut with the ODBD Double Stitched Rectangle Dies and layer this panel onto the card front.

Wrap a piece of berry satin ribbon over the entire card front (wrapping the ribbon ends behind the card front) and mount the entire card front onto the white card base.

Ink the A-Maize-ing Indian Corn image with archival black ink and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock.

Color the image with watercolor pencils and die cut with the ODBD Indian Corn Die (I absolutely love how this die perfectly cuts this image:-)).

Using the eyelet frame and main heart dies from the ODBD Ornate Hearts Dies, layer onto your platform and die cut both from white cardstock.  Adhere the heart die cuts directly to the card front.

Add the looped gold cord and mount the colored Indian Corn image with dimensional foam.

Ink the sentiment from Seasons Change with archival black ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock and die cut with the ODBD Filigree Frames Dies.

Add the sentiment with dimensional foam to the card front to finish off the card.

If you have not already had a chance to visit my Design Team Sisters’ sites yet, I hope you will find the time to do so!  Fabulous inspiration for sure!

ODBD September 2016 New Release and Blog Hop!

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs September 2016 Release!! Summer is coming to a close here in the Northeastern United States and this release is perfect for crisp Autumn days as well as year-round cards!

I know that you will not want to miss the inspiration from the rest of the ODBD Breadbaskets and we would love to have you hop along with us- see more details below...

I absolutely love this Indian Corn image in the ODBD A-Maize-ing stamp set and the coordinating ODBD Indian Corn Die matches it perfectly!

**Creative Tip ** I used the ODBD Pierced Square Dies (stacked two together) to cut out the frame to make the photo corners.

I loved using watercolor pencils to watercolor both images on the cards and the ODBD coordinating dies were so easy to match up to the images- in fact, the ODBD Wheelbarrow Die even cut the spokes on the wheel perfectly!

I hope I have inspired you today and that you will take the time to visit the rest of my ODBD Breadbasket Design Team Sisters to check out their gorgeous creations:
