JUN14VSNK A Vacation into the Past :-)

Hi Again Stampers!

Again, I hope you have had a chance to visit the challenge sites- so many different interpretations of the challenges!!

To create this Clean and Layered (CAL) card:

Stamp the images from Feeling Sentimental (retired SAB set) using Memento™ Tuxedo Black onto Whisper White cardstock.

Trim around the Classic London Phone Booth and mount onto Basic Black cardstock.  Punch out the Penny-Farthing (bicycle) image using the 2 ½”Circle Punch and mount onto another circle of Basic Black cardstock (punched using the 2 ½” Circle Punch and split into two to create the frame).

Punch out the sentiment using the XL Oval Punch and mount onto an XL Oval punched from Basic Black cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock.

Adhere a strip of Designer Series Paper (DSP)- Strawberry Slush pattern from the retired Quatrefancy DSP onto Basic Black cardstock and add to the embossed panel.
Mount the panel onto a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock, trim and mount onto Basic Black cardstock, trim and adhere to the Bermuda Bay card base.

Create the little banners using the Banner Punch, Banner Blast stamp set and retired Crushed Curry DSP.  Adhere to a piece of retired Black Hemp Twine (I used a Hot Glue Gun to adhere to the twine).

Use the Color Spritzer Tool with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker to add a bit of distressing.

Add the elements to the card per the sketch (using Stampin’ Dimensionals® for the Penny-Farthing image) and adhere the banner to finish off the card.

Part of this challenge was to  “create a card to reflect the craziest, most amazing summer vacation you have never had... yet”!

So here goes:
In the summer of 2013, my husband and I embarked on the vacation of our lifetime!  We found a Penny-Farthing (bicycle) that appeared out of nowhere and originally seemed to be able to seat only one person, but lo and behold, both of us fit perfect (this in itself was a miracle- lol!)    Once we started to pedal, all of a sudden, we saw all types of scenes flash before our eyes and realized that we were on a time machine!!

If we stopped pedaling, we were able to witness our surroundings- the best part of the journey was that no one could see us and we were not able to interact, just view :-)

Once we realized what was happening, we decided to check out all kinds of sites from different years  (we could only go back into the past- no future events-oh well,  so much for winning the lottery- lol!!)

We had a great time visiting and experiencing all sorts of times and places in the past- the Civil War , the Revolutionary War, viewed life in Europe throughout the centuries and you name it, we saw it!

At first we were concerned on how to get back to our time, but the Penny-Farthing showed us the way!  If we mentioned the word, “home”, the Penny-Farthing would immediately take us to the “Classic Phone Booth” and “poof!”  we were back to our time and place at home!

We plan on storing the Penny-Farthing in a very secure place so we can "vacation" at any time!  Shhh…remember- don't tell anyone- it is a secret- lol!!

You're How Old? CAS Fishy Birthday Wishes :-)

Hi Again Stampers!

I am still working on the Splitcoaststampers’ Virtual Stamping Night- SummerVacation and this Clean and Simple (CAS) card is for the JUN14VSNJ “Lemonade! Get Your Lemonade! Challenge along with the inspiration from the Stampin' Celebration SC80 Challenge Photo and a flipped SC491 Sketch

This card is a bit of a departure from my normal style but the expressions that the fish have seem to be perfect for the sentiment- lol!!

Again, all of the sites above have such wonderful samples and inspiration- hope you have a chance to check them out!

To create this card:

Use Tuxedo Memento™ Black ink to stamp the fish images from the retired set, Just Beachy onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and color using the new Stampin’ Blendabilities- Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Collections along with Stampin’ Write Markers-  Wild Wasabi and Melon Mambo and add a few shadows with the Sahara Sand marker.

Stamp one additional fish image onto Whisper White cardstock, color and fussy cut the image- set aside for later :-)

Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Gumball Green cardstock.
Adhere a piece of Pumpkin Pie Designer Series Paper (DSP) onto a piece of Gumball Green cardstock and mount onto the Pumpkin Pie card base.

Stamp the sentiment from Just Sayin’ using Gumball Green Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the Big Shot™ with the Word Bubbles Framelits™ Collection.

Mount the sentiment along with the fussy-cut fish onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.
