Spring is in the Air!! Three Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!!

I wanted to create a card using The Paper Players PP138 Sketch Challenge and decided to create a card for Stampin’ Up! Only SUO67 Spring is in the Air Challenge using the colors from this week’s CCMC244 Create with Connie and Mary Challenge.  Hopefully, if you have not already done so, you will take the time to visit each site- the Design Teams and other entries are fabulous!!

To create this card:

Ink the floral image from Summer Solstice using Not Quite Navy (NQN) Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of retired Bella Chateau Designer Series Paper (Marina Mist swirl).  Color the area around the flowers with a NQN Stampin’ Write marker and a Daffodil Delight marker for the centers.  Mount onto Whisper White and again onto NQN cardstock, add the ½” Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon with the button (I added a few strips of NQN cardstock as faux stitching).

Using a brayer, lightly apply Marina Mist Classic Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Stamp over the brayered cardstock using the Netting Background Stamp with NQN Classic Ink.  Mount this image onto NQN cardstock and again onto the Whisper White card base.

Create the banner using NQN Designer Series Paper (DSP) and add a NQN cardstock layer and mount again onto Whisper White.  Use the 1 3/8” Square Punch to create the banner points on all of the layers.

Cut around the edge of a Tea Lace Paper Doily and use Sticky Strip behind the banner to layer the Paper Doily edge.  Mount the banner strip to the card per the sketch layout.

Stamp the butterflies from Summer Solstice using NQN Classic Ink and use the Bitty Butterfly Punch to punch out the butterflies.  Stamp the sentiment from Elements of Style, carefully cut around the image and mount using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.  Add the Pearls to the butterflies to finish off the card.

Revised version without the button-
Stamp Sets: Summer Solstice, Netting Background, Elements of Style

Ink: Not Quite Navy, Stampin’ Write Markers—Not Quite Navy, Daffodil Delight

Paper:  Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, Not Quite Navy Designer Series Paper

Accessories:  Tea Lace Paper Doily, 1 3/8” Square Punch (for banner points), Bitty Butterfly Punch, Button Latte (retired), ½” Daffodil Delight Seam Binding, Pearls

I decided to revise the card and removed the button- which one do you prefer?

Thanks again for stopping by- have a wonderful week!

CQC101- Two Cards from One Great Color Combination!

Hi Stampers!   I thought that the colors in this week's CQC101 ColourQ Challenge were so soft and beautiful that I decided to make two quick cards!

The Friend to Friend card incorporates Dry Embossing, Rolled Flowers (punch a circle, cut a wavy spiral and roll up), Crimper and Pearls.  Quick and simple (and fun to make) :-) !

Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Orchid Opulence(retired)
Accessories:  Big Shot™, Herringbone Textured Impressions EF, Crimper,  Punches- Eyelet Border Punch, 1 3/8” Circle Punch (to make the flowers), Word Window, Modern Label and Bird Builder, Pearls, 5/8” Rich Razzleberry Satin Ribbon (retired)

The Happy Anniversary card was another quick card using the SC349 Sketch from Splitcoast Stampers, Heat Embossing, Designer Paper and Satin Ribbon (from my stash and it matches Pool Party perfectly).  I never seem to have enough Anniversary cards on hand and like to make one occasionally to add to my "stock":-)

Stamp Sets:   Summer Solstice, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Versamark®, Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Orchid Opulence (retired) and DSP (also retired)
Accessories:  Embossing Buddy®, Heat Gun, Stampin’ Emboss® White, Decorative Label Punch, Rhinestones, Satin Ribbon (from my stash)

I hope you like both of these and have a great week stamping and creating!

Another CQC99 Card-" Lucky Me" for Knowing You

Hi Stampers!

Here is the second card that I created this evening using the bright primary colors from this week’s CQC99 ColourQ Challenge- if you have not done so yet and have the time, check out their site- they are fabulous!

To create this card:

The top half of the background uses a piece of Crushed Curry that had been previously embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and the Big Shot™  (the inside of the folder had been inked using a brayer with Island Indigo Classic Ink on the smooth side).  On the lower half of the card, I also used a piece of previously embossed Island Indigo cardstock (with the Houndstooth Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder).

Using Island Indigo Classic Ink, stamp the floral images from Summer Solstice onto Whisper White cardstock, the leaves onto Old Olive cardstock and the butterfly onto Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  Carefully cut out around the edges of the images and color the centers of the flowers using the Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write marker (retired).

Assemble the card using a scrap punched with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch from Whisper White, 5/8” Pumpkin Pie Satin Ribbon and finish off with the pearl.

Stamp Sets:   Summer Solstice
Ink: Island Indigo, Stampin’ Write Marker- Crushed Curry (retired)
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Island Indigo, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Crushed Curry (retired)
Accessories:  Big Shot™, Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders- Vintage Wallpaper, Houndstooth, Lace Ribbon Border Punch, 5/8” Pumpkin Pie Satin Ribbon (retired), Pearl

Thanks again for stopping by- if you have time to comment, let me know which of the two cards for the CQC99 Challenge you like the best:-)

Time for me to get some beauty sleep (boy, do I need it! :-)) - I hope all of you have a blessed weekend (and those of you on the East Coast, please heed the warnings and stay safe)!

Here for You - Three Challenges in One (and a Sneak Peak)

Hi Stampers!                                                                          I just love the inspiration photo for this week Pals Paper Arts PPA106 Best Dressed Challenge (use one designer paper, one punch and one sentiment)- isn’t that kitten adorable?  I decided to dress up the card a bit and use the Stamping 411 SSC216 Sketch Challenge along with Anne Marie’s PP59 Color Challenge from The Paper Players.

The designers have created some fabulous projects- again, if you have the time, check them out!

To create this card:

With the Embossing Buddy®, de-static a piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock and stamp the floral images in Versamark® ink.  Apply Black Stampin’ Emboss® Powder and emboss with the Heat Tool.  Once the embossing has cooled, color the flowers using a SU! marker in Rose Red and Regal Rose.

With the Big Shot™ and the Final Press Texture Impressions™ Folder, emboss a piece of Regal Rose Designer Series Paper and lightly sand using the Sanding Block to bring out the white core.

Sneak Peak (new Holiday Mini)- Use the Big Shot™ with the new Snow Burst Textured Impressions™ Folder to emboss a piece of Rose Red cardstock.

Assemble the layers and add the 5/8” Basic Black Stain bow and self-adhesive pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Summer Solstice, Herb Expressions
Ink: Versamark®, Regal Rose, Basic Black, Stampin’ Write markers in Rose Red and Regal Rose
Cardstock:  Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Regal Rose (Brights Designer Series Paper Stack)
Accessories:  Big Shot™, Textured Impressions™ Folders- Finial Press, Snow Burst, Designer Label Frames, Large Oval Punch, Heat Tool,  Embossing Buddy®, Black Stampin’ Emboss® Powder, 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Pearls, Color Spritzer Tool

Thanks for Blessing My Life

Hi Stampers!
I have finally had a chance to stamp a card!  My husband and I took a “stay-cation” (stay at home/area vacation) last week and I took a hiatus from stamping for a few days.  We had a wonderful time at Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park (saw a total of six bears in the course of two days- two of the bears were cubs:-).  We love the serenity of the park, the amazing vistas and of course, the wildlife.
I wanted to create a card using some of the new In-Colors so I decided to incorporate a few of the Splitcoast Stampers Challenges (CC332 and CCREW0711DF) along with this week's SSC213 Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411

To create this card:

Using a brayer, apply Chocolate Chip ink onto the smooth side of the Vintage Wallpaper EF and emboss a piece of Pool Party cardstock with the Big Shot.  Lightly spray with Champagne Shimmer Mist Paint and mount onto Whisper White.

Ink the floral image from Summer Solstice with Versamark and again into Chocolate Chip ink and stamp onto a piece of Pool Party cardstock- heat emboss with Clear EP.  Apply the Versamark/Chocolate Chip ink combination again with the leaf image and stamp onto Wild Wasabi (three images needed). Carefully cut out the images around the embossing and set aside to assemble later.

Apply Chocolate Chip ink to the En Francais background stamp, stamp onto a piece of cardstock (your choice of color- you can use this piece for a future project) and stamp again onto Pool Party cardstock (the ink will be lighter and not compete with the sentiment).  Sponge the edges and the center area lightly to distress.

Stamp the sentiment with Chocolate Chip ink and stamp the butterfly from Summer Solstice with Pool Party ink over the sentiment.  Punch out the sentiment using the Large Oval Punch and use the Color Spritzer Tool with the Chocolate Chip marker.  Adhere onto a piece of Chocolate Chip punched with the Decorative Label Punch (one from my scraps already embossed with the Square Lattice EF).

Layer the sentiment and the flower/leaves over a piece of Whisper White (I ran the WW through the Crimper Tool and sponged lightly with Chocolate Chip).  Layer two strips of Wild Wasabi (again pieces from my scraps already embossed with the Square Lattice EF) and the final layer is a piece of Chocolate Chip punched with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch.  I cut this layer in two through the center and adhered a half on each end of the panel.

Mount the entire panel onto the embossed Pool Party background and mount the card front onto Chocolate Chip.  Add the pearl to the center of the flower to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Summer Solstice, En Francais, Herb Expressions
Ink:  Versamark, Chocolate Chip, Pool Party, SU! Marker- Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Pool Party, Whisper White, Wild Wasabi
Accessories:  Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper EF, Square Lattice EF, Decorative Label Punch, Large Oval Punch, Lace Ribbon Border Punch, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint Spray, Sponge Dauber, Color Spritzer Tool, Pearl

Thanks again for stopping by and blessing my life with you! I hope all of you have a great week stamping!
