Merry Christmas 2012 !

Merry Christmas!!!

Praying that all of you have a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends!!  Here on the East Coast we were surprised by a brief snowstorm (which caused our candlelight services to be cancelled) but we will have a White Christmas and a very special day with family remembering the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I apologize for being absent from posting for a few weeks- I have been preparing for our Awana Christmas party as well as shopping for family :-)  I plan to share a few more last minute Christmas cards later this week so if you have the time, stop back for a visit :-)

This Clean and Simple (CAS) card could not be any simplier- one sentiment stamp, the Embossing Buddy®, the Heat Tool, Silver Embossing Powder and ribbon from my stash. Pop up with a few dimensionals and you are done!!

Quick, simple and very easy to re-create!

When I chose the colors and technique, I had two challenges in mind- the Splitcoaststamper’sCC406 Color Challenge – Colorless Christmas in memory of Newton, CT and TheFM89 Friday Mashup CAS with Heat Embossing Challenge.   If you have the time to visit these sites, leave them some "love" and better yet, come join in on the fun!

Stamp Sets: More Merry Messages

Ink: Versamark™

Paper: Whisper White

Accessories:  Embossing Buddy®, Heat Tool, Stampin’ Emboss® Silver Embossing Powder, Fancy Ribbon from my stash

Again, quick, simple but a bit difficult to photograph! All of the shimmery silver is difficult to see but it is sparkly in real life!

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you like this card and have a great time creating your own bits of art this week!    Merry Christmas!!

CCREW0512CF- Triple Treat Love

Hi again Stampers!

Here is my card for submission for the CCREW0512CF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Catalog focus:Time to Blossom! Think of May flowers. We have lots of flowers in the catalog: stamps, punches, paper flowers, Big Shot dies, buttons, etc.. Use any or all of these in a project.

Again, this card highlights all of the In-Colors on one card along with a few other retiring products…

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock.

Stamp the Triple Treat Flower three separate times each time with a different ink- first time with Concord Crush, then with Peach Parfait and again with Poppy Parade Classic ink. Punch out the flower portions and assemble the flower.

Layer the card using the doily from Flirtatious Specialty DSP, embossed panel using the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (this was a scrap piece I had from a previous project).

Add the flower with SU! Dimensionals , the ½” Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding Bow and the little tag sentiment to finish off the card.

Peace Within- Three Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!

I had a few minutes to stamp this evening and decided to create a card using a few of the soon to be retired stamp sets, Plant Hope and Peace Within.  I just received the Plant Hope set and love the tree images and wanted to participate with The Paper Players PP91 Watercolor CAS Challenge.

I decided to incorporate the CQC133ColourQ Colors and the FM31 Freshly Made Sketch.  Again, all of these sites have wonderful weekly challenges and their  Design Team samples and entries are fabulous!

To create the watercolor background paper, use the Aqua Painter to lift ink from the inside of the ink pad from More Mustard and Dusty Durango.  Create strokes onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock (or you could use Watercolor paper) and use the Heat Tool to lightly dry the paper.

Ink the background stamp, En Francais with Basic Gray and stamp over the lightly damp paper.  Continue to dry the paper with the Heat Tool (being careful not to scorch the paper:-)).

Once dry, stamp the tree image with Versamark™ ink, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder and emboss with the Heat Tool.

Cut the image with the Framelits™ Die and layer with another die cut from Basic Black. Adhere the focus image to the Basic Gray panel (embossed with the Herringbone Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder) and finish off with the 5/8” Black Satin Bow and sentiment.

Stamp Sets:  Plant Hope, En Francais, Peace Within

Ink: Basic Black, Basic Gray, More Mustard, Dusty Durango (retired)

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Basic Gray, Dusty Durango (retired)

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Framelits™ Label Collection Die, Herringbone Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Heat Tool, Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder, Punches- Large Oval and Curly Label,  5/8”  Black Satin Ribbon

Thanks again for taking the time to visit and all of your encouraging comments- I read each and every one and feel that all of you are my friends!  Thank you for your "friendship" and I hope you have a great time creating and sharing the love of stamping!

Retired Soon- Color Challenge with an Old Friend

Hi Again Stampers!

I wanted to create a card using one of the soon to be retired stamp sets and In-Colors and this week's  CCMC197 Create with Connieand Mary Color Challenge was perfect!  If you have not done so already, check out the Design Team samples as well as the other entries- gorgeous!

Friends Never Fade will only be available until the end of May and I love the floral scroll and sentiment on the main floral stamp (fyi-Concord Crush will also be retiring along with the In-Colors for 2010-2012).

This card is fairly simple and combines quite a few techniques- heat embossing, dry embossing, crimping, rolled flowers and of course, pearls  :-)   I will have to come back and post more details tomorrow since it is so late…

Stamp Sets: Friends Never Fade

Cardstock:  Crushed Concord, Marina Mist, Certainly Celery, Whisper White

Ink: Versamark™, Concord Crush

Accessories: Big Shot™, Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder- Snow Burst and Perfect Polka Dot, Designer Frame (rectangular),  Heat Tool, Stampin’ Emboss® Clear Embossing Powder, 1 3/8” and 1 ¾” Circle Punches, Crimper Tool, Pearls

Thanks again for visiting!  I hope you like this card and if you have the time let me know- will you be sad to see Friends Never Fade retire?

Have a great week stamping- God Bless!

CAS Everyday Enchantment- A Color and Sketch Challenge!

Hi Stampers!

My husband and I just finished watching the 136th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show this evening (it is our annual Valentine’s Day tradition) and I know, I should be sleeping but I have not had time to create this week and desperately need to spend time in my craft room (I have been working very long hours at my full-time accounting job :-)))

I decided to unwind and take the time to create a quick CAS card using Ann’s PP82Color Challenge from The Paper Players along with the CCMC188 Sketch fromCreate with Connie and Mary.    Again both sites have so much inspiration!

Since this card has very little stamping- mostly the  Big Shot™ with three embossing folders, the new Framelits™ Labels Collection along with the new Blossom Punch- quick and easy!

To create this card:

Hand cut the banner from the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (from the SAB catalog) and layer onto Soft Suede cardstock (hand cut around the banner shape, use the Distressing Tool along the edges and emboss with the Finial Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder).   Lightly sand with the Sanding Block and adhere the bow.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Framelits™ Labels Collection to cut a label from the same DSP as the banner and Soft Suede cardstock.  Emboss the Soft Suede label (as well as the DSP for the background) with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Layer the labels onto the card front, add the flower (created with the Blossom Punch from Pool Party cardstock and embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots folder),  adhere the center of the flower and add pearls along with the tiny labels to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Tiny Tags

Paper: Poppy Parade, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (SAB 2012)

Ink: Poppy Parade

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders- Finial Press, Square Lattice and Perfect Polka Dots, Framelits™ Labels Collection, Sanding Block, Punches- Blossom, 1” Circle, Jewelry Tag; 5/8” Pool Party Seam Binding, Brad, Pearls
Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you enjoy this quick easy card!  Have a great week and I hope you have fun stamping!

PP67 Holiday Greetings- with or without?

Hi Stampers!

Just in the "nick of time"!  I wanted to create a card for this week’s PaperPlayers PP67 Color Challenge and hopefully will have time to load before the deadline:-)

I decided to use a new set, Creative Elements and thought that this card could be either for Christmas or Thanksgiving- also at first I did not have the pearls and then added them, which do you prefer?

To create this card:

Use the Embossing Buddy® to de-static a piece of More Mustard cardstock and stamp the floral image with Versamark®ink and then again into Bravo Burgundy and heat emboss with Stampin’ Emboss® Clear Embossing Powder.

Use the Big Shot™ and emboss a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with the Snowburst Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, a small piece of More Mustard with the Square Lattice EF  and a piece of Very Vanilla with the Oval Decorative Frames EF.

Stamp the sentiment with Bravo Burgundy in the oval frame and the scroll image with Cajun Craze (stamp off first).  Use a Sponge Dauber with Bravo Burgundy to sponge around the edges and bring out some of the texture.

Better without Pearls or with?
Spray the Very Vanilla embossed background as well as the oval frame with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint spray (also, I used the reverse side of the Snowburst EF and it looks a bit different- must say, I like it:-)).

Layer the panels, add the 5/8” Satin Ribbon (from my stash) and pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Creative Elements, Sincere Salutations

Ink: Versmark™, Bravo Burgundy, Cajun Craze

Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Cajun Craze Designer Series Paper

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Snowburst, Finial Press and Oval Decorative FrameTextured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Pearls, 5/8” Satin Ribbon (from my stash)

Thanks again for stopping by!   I hope all of you have a great weekend- try to find some time to “play”!

Another CQC99 Card-" Lucky Me" for Knowing You

Hi Stampers!

Here is the second card that I created this evening using the bright primary colors from this week’s CQC99 ColourQ Challenge- if you have not done so yet and have the time, check out their site- they are fabulous!

To create this card:

The top half of the background uses a piece of Crushed Curry that had been previously embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and the Big Shot™  (the inside of the folder had been inked using a brayer with Island Indigo Classic Ink on the smooth side).  On the lower half of the card, I also used a piece of previously embossed Island Indigo cardstock (with the Houndstooth Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder).

Using Island Indigo Classic Ink, stamp the floral images from Summer Solstice onto Whisper White cardstock, the leaves onto Old Olive cardstock and the butterfly onto Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  Carefully cut out around the edges of the images and color the centers of the flowers using the Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write marker (retired).

Assemble the card using a scrap punched with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch from Whisper White, 5/8” Pumpkin Pie Satin Ribbon and finish off with the pearl.

Stamp Sets:   Summer Solstice
Ink: Island Indigo, Stampin’ Write Marker- Crushed Curry (retired)
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Island Indigo, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Crushed Curry (retired)
Accessories:  Big Shot™, Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders- Vintage Wallpaper, Houndstooth, Lace Ribbon Border Punch, 5/8” Pumpkin Pie Satin Ribbon (retired), Pearl

Thanks again for stopping by- if you have time to comment, let me know which of the two cards for the CQC99 Challenge you like the best:-)

Time for me to get some beauty sleep (boy, do I need it! :-)) - I hope all of you have a blessed weekend (and those of you on the East Coast, please heed the warnings and stay safe)!

Thanks for Blessing My Life

Hi Stampers!
I have finally had a chance to stamp a card!  My husband and I took a “stay-cation” (stay at home/area vacation) last week and I took a hiatus from stamping for a few days.  We had a wonderful time at Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park (saw a total of six bears in the course of two days- two of the bears were cubs:-).  We love the serenity of the park, the amazing vistas and of course, the wildlife.
I wanted to create a card using some of the new In-Colors so I decided to incorporate a few of the Splitcoast Stampers Challenges (CC332 and CCREW0711DF) along with this week's SSC213 Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411

To create this card:

Using a brayer, apply Chocolate Chip ink onto the smooth side of the Vintage Wallpaper EF and emboss a piece of Pool Party cardstock with the Big Shot.  Lightly spray with Champagne Shimmer Mist Paint and mount onto Whisper White.

Ink the floral image from Summer Solstice with Versamark and again into Chocolate Chip ink and stamp onto a piece of Pool Party cardstock- heat emboss with Clear EP.  Apply the Versamark/Chocolate Chip ink combination again with the leaf image and stamp onto Wild Wasabi (three images needed). Carefully cut out the images around the embossing and set aside to assemble later.

Apply Chocolate Chip ink to the En Francais background stamp, stamp onto a piece of cardstock (your choice of color- you can use this piece for a future project) and stamp again onto Pool Party cardstock (the ink will be lighter and not compete with the sentiment).  Sponge the edges and the center area lightly to distress.

Stamp the sentiment with Chocolate Chip ink and stamp the butterfly from Summer Solstice with Pool Party ink over the sentiment.  Punch out the sentiment using the Large Oval Punch and use the Color Spritzer Tool with the Chocolate Chip marker.  Adhere onto a piece of Chocolate Chip punched with the Decorative Label Punch (one from my scraps already embossed with the Square Lattice EF).

Layer the sentiment and the flower/leaves over a piece of Whisper White (I ran the WW through the Crimper Tool and sponged lightly with Chocolate Chip).  Layer two strips of Wild Wasabi (again pieces from my scraps already embossed with the Square Lattice EF) and the final layer is a piece of Chocolate Chip punched with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch.  I cut this layer in two through the center and adhered a half on each end of the panel.

Mount the entire panel onto the embossed Pool Party background and mount the card front onto Chocolate Chip.  Add the pearl to the center of the flower to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Summer Solstice, En Francais, Herb Expressions
Ink:  Versamark, Chocolate Chip, Pool Party, SU! Marker- Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Pool Party, Whisper White, Wild Wasabi
Accessories:  Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper EF, Square Lattice EF, Decorative Label Punch, Large Oval Punch, Lace Ribbon Border Punch, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint Spray, Sponge Dauber, Color Spritzer Tool, Pearl

Thanks again for stopping by and blessing my life with you! I hope all of you have a great week stamping!

Christmas Magic with CQC61 and PP26 Challenge!

Hi Stampers!

I created this card using this week’s ColourQ Challenge CQC61 ( http://colourq.blogspot.com) and also the Wet (Heat) Embossing Challenge for The Paper Players PP26 (see http://www.thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/ ). Please take a moment to check out their sites and the beautiful samples created by their Design Teams as well as all of the other inspirational entries.

To create this card:

De-static a piece of Whisper White with the Embossing Buddy and using Versamark ink,  stamp the medallion image from Day of Gratitude and heat emboss with Clear EP.  Using several Sponge Daubers- the first one with Tempting Turquoise for the center, the second with Pacific Point on the middle area,  the third  using Wild Wasabi and the last one with Soft Suede for the edges and beyond the edge.

Line the ornament punch up with one of the points of the medallion and in the center of the punch area- punch out two ornaments.  Sponge additional Soft Suede over the point of the ornament to fill in the Whisper White.  Also punch out an ornament from Wild Wasabi (I used a scrap piece that had been embossed with the Big Shot and the Finial Press EF).  Ink the punched ornaments with Versamark and heat emboss with Iridescent Ice EP.

Use the Big Shot and the Northern Flurry EF to emboss a piece of Tempting Turquoise.  Rub the Versamark pad over the raised areas of the snowflake and emboss with Iridescent Ice EP (the card and the ornaments really sparkle).    Stamp the sentiment in the upper right hand corner with Pacific Point ink.  Ink the large snowflake image from Northern Hearts (Holiday Mini Hostess Level I set) with Versamark and stamp over the sentiment.

Use Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon and pearls to finish off the ornaments and layer onto Pacific Point and Whisper White cardstock.

Stamp Sets:  Day of Gratitude, Northern Hearts (Holiday Mini Hostess level I), Occasional Quotes (2010-11 Idea Book & Catalog Hostess Level II)
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi
Ink: Versamark, Pacific Point, Soft Suede, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Big Shot, Finial Press and Northern Flurry EF, Embossing Buddy, Clear and Iridescent Ice EP, Heat Gun, Sponge Daubers, Pearls, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon

Thanks again for visiting and for all of your encouragement- I hope all of you have a blessed week!

With Sympathy- Nature Silhouettes

Hi Stampers!

I needed to create a sympathy card for close friends of ours.    I decided to use the colors from this week’s ColourQ Challenge #CQC60 (http://colourq.blogspot.com ) along with the sketch from this week’s Paper Players PP25 Challenge (http://www.thepaperplayers.blogspot.com ).  When you get a chance, check out their sites to see the wonderful samples created by the Design Teams and the other entries.

To create this card:

Using the masking technique, mask off the moon/sun area and apply More Mustard and Cherry Cobbler to the sky area with Sponge Daubers.  Apply Soft Suede to the ground area and de-static the card with the Embossing Buddy.

Ink the tree stamp from Nature Silhouettes first in Versamark, then with Early Espresso- stamp onto the inked piece of Very Vanilla create in the above step.  Heat emboss with Clear Embossing Powder (EP)- allow this to cool for a few minutes, de-static the card again and using the same steps, stamp and emboss the deer image.

Line up the 2½” XL Circle Punch and punch out the image (or use a Circle Cutter).  Layer the stamped image onto Soft Suede and Very Vanilla circles.  Sponge the edges of the Very Vanilla circle with Early Espresso.
Using the Rock-n-Roll technique, stamp the leaves from French Foliage in More Mustard, Soft Suede and Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla cardstock.  Trim close to the edges and sponge with Early Espresso.

Using the Tearing Edge, tear a piece of More Mustard Designer Series Paper (from a retired hostess pack) and distress the paper by scrunching, crumpling and sponging with Early Espresso ink.

Attach this to an embossed piece of Soft Suede.  Stamp the sentiment and use the Curly XL Punch.  Attach this to the card and layer 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon over the seam.  Attach the previously stamped leaves and use a Vintage Brad to cover the center of the leaves.

Spritz the entire card with the Color Spritzer Tool and a Soft Sueded SU! Marker.

Stamp Sets:  Nature Silhouettes, French Foliage, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, More Mustard DSP (retired hostess pack)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, More Mustard, Soft Suede, Versamark
Accessories: Big Shot, Finial Press EF, Circle Scissors Plus, 2 ½” XL Circle and Curly Label XL Punch, Embossing Buddy, Heat Gun, Clear EP, Sponge Daubers, SU! Soft Suede Marker, Color Spritzer Tool, Tearing Edge, Vintage Brad, 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon.

Thanks again for visiting - I hope all of you have a Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Again Stampers!

I created this CAS (Clean and Simple) card using this week’s ColourQ Challenge CQC59
(http://colourq.blogspot.com/) and the sketch challenge SSC178 from Stamping 411 with the Operators (http://www.stamping411.blogspot.com/).  Don’t forget to visit their blogs and check out all of the wonderful samples created by their Design Teams as well as all of the beautiful entries.

I thought of fall again with these gorgeous rich colors and since the Holiday Mini is coming to an end soon, I wanted to make another card with the French Foliage set.

I decided to use the emboss resist technique for the background on the focal image and dry emboss as the final step.

First stamp the medium leaf stamp using Versamark ink on a prepared piece of Whisper White (de-static with the Embossing Buddy to prepare before stamping).  Heat emboss with Clear EP and once it has cooled, use a Sponge Dauber and sponge More Mustard over the leaves and onto the white cardstock.  Gently wipe off the ink from the embossed images.

With the small leaf image, repeat the same steps above and sponge Old Olive over the leaves and again over some of the white areas and over the More Mustard (leaving some of the More Mustard showing).

With the large leaf, repeat the same steps and sponge Pumpkin Pie over the leaves and other areas.
Using a sponge dauber, sponge Rich Razzlebery over the images and center areas allowing some of the More Mustard, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie to remain.  Gently wipe off the ink from the embossed images.

Using the Big Shot with the Square Lattice EF, emboss the image and another piece of Whisper White. Layer the focal image onto Whisper White, trim and layer again onto Old Olive.

Attach the 5/8” Rich Razzleberry Satin Ribbon over the embossed Whisper White layer, layer this entire piece onto Old Olive and again onto Rich Razzleberry.  Attach the focal image with Dimensionals or Glue Dots.

Color the sentiment with SU! Markers in Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry, stamp onto Whisper White, trim and layer onto Old Olive.

Stamp Sets:  French Foliage, Seasonal Sentiments
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry
Ink: More Mustard, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Versamark
Accessories: Big Shot, Square Lattice EF, Embossing Buddy, Clear EP, Heat Gun, Sponge Daubers, 5/8” Rich Razzleberry Satin Ribbon

With the Thanksgiving holiday fast approaching, our thoughts turn to those things in life that we are thankful for and you are definitely one of the items on my list!  Although we may not have had the chance meet in person yet, I feel that I know many of you already and am so thankful for your encouragement and inspiration!

I pray that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and give all of your loved ones a hug and let them know how thankful you are for them!

Thanks again for visiting- have a blessed week!
