SUO134 Thank You

Hello Friends!

It’s time for the new SUO134 “Thank You Very Much” Challenge and I decided to create a somewhat masculine “thank you” card using the Pals PaperArts PPA273 Sketch Challenge along with the FabFri75 Color Challenge.

I hope you will have a chance to check out the Pals Paper Arts and Fab Friday Challenge sites as well as my sister Design Team member samples at the SU-Only Challenges- great inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Stamp the ship image using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock.
Create the circle mask for the sun/moon with the 1 ¼” Circle Punch and using Sponge Daubers, apply Tangelo Twist Classic Ink to the sky area and Bermuda Bay to the water.

Use an AquaPainter™ to blend some of the ink and wash a bit of the color over the sun/moon.

Once you are satisfied with the sponging, use the fine tip end of the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to add additional waves in the foreground and a few birds to the sky.

Use the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker to add shadows to the sails and lightly sponge a bit of Tangelo Twist over the waves as a reflection of the sky.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Square Collection Framelits™ to cut out the image and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim and set aside.

Ink the globe image using Bermuda Bay Classic Ink and stamp onto Bermuda Bay cardstock.

Punch out the globe image with a 2” Circle Punch and also punch a 2” circle from Basic Black cardstock.

Cut both the stamped circle and black circle in half and adhere each of the black circle halves behind the stamped globe halves and mount behind the focal image square.

Use the Big Shot™ along with the Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Use the Stampin’ Write Basic Black Marker to color in the “thank you” from the Me=Grateful sentiment and stamp onto a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock.

Add the chevron embossed panel, trim and mount the knotted Natural Linen Thread to the center.

Add the panel to a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Add the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and a few Rhinestones near the sentiment to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets:  The Open Sea, Me=Grateful
Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black,  Bermuda Bay, Tangelo Twist; Stampin’ Write Markers- Basic Black, Sahara Sand
Paper/Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Bermuda Bay
Accessories: Big Shot™, Square Collection Framelits™, Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Sponge Daubers, 1 ¼” Circle Punch, Natural Linen Thread, Rhinestones

Move the masks for the snow banks and lightly apply Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink to create a few shadows.

Ink the Wonderland and Lovely As A Tree images using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, mask the snow banks and stamp the trees to the scene.

Add the sentiment at the bottom of the panel using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock, trim again and mount onto Watermelon Wonder cardstock, trim once more and mount onto the Elegant Eggplant card base.

Using a Faber-Castell® White Pitt Pen marker, add the snowflakes to the sky and over the snow banks.

Add additional foreground with the Faber-Castell® Black Pitt Pen marker, trim the panel and stitch onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock (layered onto Early Espresso cardstock).

Stitch all of the layers onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock, distress the edges with the Distressing Tool.

HYCCT1501A Thanks for Seeing Me Through

Hi Friends!!

Splitcoaststampers is proud to partner with the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center for their sixth annual month long card drive to benefit those affected by breast cancer.  To see more details regarding this month long challenge, please check out this link .

I have always enjoyed seeing lightning from afar but I do not like electrical storms, so I chose to focus on lightning for my image :-)

To create this Mixed Media card:

Using a Sponge Dauber, apply Tangerine Tango and Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Use the Embossing Buddy® to de-static the cardstock, ink the cityscape from Landscape Silhouettes (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps) using Versamark™ Ink and stamp onto the sponged panel.

Apply Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool to melt the powder.

Create the lightning using Titanium White Acrylic Paint with an AquaPainter™ and once dry, add a few highlights with the Faber-Castell® White Pitt Pen Marker.

FYI- If I decide to try this technique again, I will gesso the panel before sponging the ink (the acrylic paint would not flow as nicely as I would have liked so I could not get as fine of a line as I wanted :-)

Trim the panel and mount onto Basic Black cardstock.

Ink the sentiment from Me=Grateful using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto the Whisper White panel.

Mount the sentiment panel onto the Basic Black card base and mount the focal image using dimensional foam.

Stamp Sets: Me=Grateful (SU!), Landscape Silhouettes (SNSS)

Ink: Versamark™, Memento™ Jet Black; Faber-Castell® White Pitt Pen Marker
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black

Accessories: AquaPainter™, Titanium White Acrylic Paint, Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

Thanks again for visiting!  I will be posting more of the cards that I created this weekl for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges :-)  Hugs to you and I hope you have a great week!

Get Well Wishes for a Color, Sketch and Inspiration Challenge :-)

Hi Stampers!!

I had a chance to stamp in the wee hours this morning and decided to create a card using the Pals Paper Arts PPA262 Color Challenge along with the Just Add Ink JAI274 Inspiration Photo  (I was inspired by the natural elements along with the contrast and bit of green).

I  also used the FMS198 Sketch Challenge for the layout (but I am too late to link to the actual challenge at FMS :-)).

Again, if you have not already done so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above challenge sites to check out the wonderful Design Team samples as well as their fabulous galleries!

This card was fairly easy to create- use a Sponge Dauber to sponge Pool Party and Mint Macaron Classic Ink onto a Chalk Talk label created from Whisper White cardstock.

Stamp the goose image using  Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto another piece of Whisper White cardstock, color with Tip Top Taupe Classic Ink and Stampin’ Write Markers, fussy cut out the goose and ink the grass only from the goose stamp using a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker onto the sponged tag.

Adhere the goose image using Stampin' Dimensionals® onto the tag, layer another Chalk Tag tag from Basic Black cardstock behind the  focal image tag and add the additional white layered tag per the sketch.

Add  a few strips of Basic Black cardstock (I used scraps and punched the ends with the Hexagon Punch) onto the embossed Tip Top Taupe background panel, trim and mount onto Mint  Macaron, trim and mount onto the Basic Black card front.

Use the Bow Builder Punch to create a bow from Basic Black cardstock bow, add to the tag along with a retired Pool Party button.

Mount the layered tags to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals® and the sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Wetlands, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink:  Stāz-On® Jet Black, Mint Macaron, Pool Party, Tip Top Taupe; Stampin’ Write Marker- Tip Top Taupe, Basic Black

Paper: Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe, Basic Black, Whisper White

Accessories: Big Shot™, Chalk Talk Framelits™, Boho Chic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Sponge Daubers, Punches- Bow Builder, Hexagon;  retired Pool Party Sycamore Street button

Thanks again for visiting- I hope all of you have a terrific Tuesday!!

The Heavens Declare The Glory of God:-)

Hi Again Stampers!

Here is my final Splitcoaststampers’ Virtual Stamp Night card for the JUN15VSNJ  “Your Happy Place” Challenge (see details here and gallery here) along with the SC545 Sketch Challenge (see details here and gallery here) and the ColourMe...Subtle! CMCC76 Challenge.

For the past 20 years or so, my husband and I have only been able to take a day off here and there from work, therefore, we have not been able to travel too far from home so our favorite “Happy” place right now is Shenandoah National Park :-)

We love the majestic vistas and overlooks and this was the first place I thought of when I saw this challenge :-)

I used masking along with sponges to create this landscape card but it is very difficult to capture the splendor and glory of Shenandoah with mere stamps and sponges...this card made me long for Shenandoah- I think we need to visit our “happy” place again soon!

If you have not had a chance to do so, I hope you visit the linked sites to check out the marvelous inspiration by all!

To create this card:

Create a mask for the mountains using scrap paper and just tearing the edge.

Position the mountain mask along with a circle for the moon onto Whisper White cardstock and sponge Coastal Cabana ink along with just a hint of Elegant Eggplant for the sky area.

Remove the masks and re-mask the sky area and mountain ridge, sponge Elegant Eggplant onto the cardstock, remove the masks and repeat to create the mountain ridges.

Add Old Olive at the bottom of the scene.

Ink the tree images from Lovely As A Tree with Stāz-On® Jet Black ink and stamp onto the sponged background, mask the hills,  re-ink the stamp and stamp again.

Add a bare tree to the left using the Faber-Castell® B Black  Pitt Pen marker and  add a  few birds as well.

Emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Big Shot™ and Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim the panel and mount onto the Elegant Eggplant cardstock.

Print out the verse sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock and create the banner points with the Hexagon Punch.

Use the Big Shot™ with the MFT Stitched Circle Die to cut out the focal image and mount the sentiment onto the front.

Create a few banners from scraps of Elegant Eggplant, Coastal Cabana and Old Olive cardstock using the Hexagon Punch and adhere behind the sentiment.

Mount the entire focal image layer onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add a few Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Lovely As A Tree, Digital Verse from Word Art Wednesday
Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black, Coastal Cabana, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive; Faber-Castell® B Pitt Pen Black marker

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive

Accessories: Big Shot™, Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, MFT Stitched Circle Die, Hexagon Punch, Sponge Daubers, scrap paper for masking, Rhinestones

Thanks again for stopping by- off to do some neglected housework now :-)  Have a fabulous weekend, my friends!

Thinking of You- Sunset at Moon Lake

Hi Stampers!

It has been another busy week with doctor’s visits (my hubby had his sixth chemo treatment and he seems to be responding as the doctors hoped- Praise the Lord!) and, of course, we had some more snow (I had fun shoveling :-)), so I did not get to play in my craft room until late last evening  :-)

This card was created using the SR267 Color Challenge along with the FabFri58 Sketch and the Splitcoaststampers MMTPT342 Challenge (see details for the challenge here and the gallery here).

If you have not already visited the above sites, I encourage you to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the image from Moon Lake using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the image using Stampin’ Write Markers- Pear Pizzazz, Always Artichoke, Baked Brown Sugar, Smoky Slate and Basic Black.

Using the Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker, add additional grass, horizon line on the water and shadows on the rocks.

Using the 1” Circle Punch, punch out a circle from sticky note paper or scrap paper for the moon.

Place the paper with the opening over the stamped scene and use a Sponge Dauber to lightly apply Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral Classic Ink onto the moon area.

Remove the moon mask and apply the circle mask over the sponged moon.

Using Sponge Daubers, apply Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral Classic Ink over the sky area and water (being careful around the tree image so you do not smear the marker areas) and apply a bit of Always Artichoke Classic Ink to fill in the grassy area as well.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Circle Collection Framelits™ to cut out the image along with another frame from Always Artichoke cardstock.   Add a few birds to the scene using the Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker.

Cut the Always Artichoke frame in half, adhere behind the focal image and distress with the Distressing Tool.

Use the Big Shot™ to emboss a piece of Pear Pizzazz Designer Series Paper (DSP) using the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim and mount onto a piece of Always Artichoke cardstock.

Distress the edges of the Always Artichoke using the Distressing Tool and lightly sand the DSP with the Sanding Block.

Using Gorgeous Grunge along with Calypso Coral Classic Ink, add the splatter and diagonal line details to a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock.

Using Always Artichoke Classic Ink, add additional details with Gorgeous Grunge, trim the panel and distress with the Distressing Tool.

Adhere the Calypso Coral panel onto the Always Artichoke card base and mount the embossed Pear Pizzazz panel onto the card front.

Add the strips of frayed Burlap Ribbon and mount the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals ®.

Stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, punch out with the Word Window Punch and the banner end with the Hexagon Punch.

Mount the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the Antique Brad to finish off the card.

Hi Again Stampers!

I wanted to share one more card that I created this past weekend for the FabFri57 Color Challenge along with the Poppy Power Power & Spark “The Sky is theLimit” Challenge and the CCC15 Christmas Card Challenge at Splitcoaststampers :-)

The sky on this card reminds me of one late fall evening’s sunset (sorry, I did not have my camera) but tried to recreate the scene using a sponged/masked background :-)

I hope you will have the time to check out the above challenge sites- great designs and inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Using the 1 ¼” Circle Punch, punch out a circle from sticky note paper or scrap paper for the moon.

Place the paper with the opening on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and use a Sponge Dauber to apply Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral Classic Ink onto the moon area.

Remove the mask and apply the circle mask over the sponged moon.

Create a mask for the hills using scrap paper and using Sponge Daubers, apply Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral and Real Red Classic Ink to the sky area.

Remove the mask for the hill, reposition to create snow banks and apply Crisp Cantaloupe Classic Ink with the Sponge Dauber.

Re-mask the hill areas and stamp the trees using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Window Frame Framelits™ to cut out the image along with another frame from Basic Black cardstock.   Cut the Basic Black frame in half and adhere behind the focal image.

Use the Big Shot™ to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Punch the border using the Martha Stewart Deep Edge Garden Trellis Punch from Whisper White cardstock, mount a piece of Basic Black cardstock behind the punched piece and mount onto the embossed Whisper White panel.  Trim and add a piece of ⅝” Basic Black Satin Ribbon.

Adhere the entire panel onto the Crisp Cantaloupe card base and add the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, trim and add the banner ends using the Hexagon Punch.

Mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock (add the banner ends with the Hexagon Punch) and adhere to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the snowflakes using a White Gel Pen to finish off the card.

Peace on Earth- Three Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!

I had a chance to relax and stamp last night and wanted to create a card using the PP224 Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge  (I chose Tree, Embossing and Glitter :-)) along with the CC507 Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge (dessert option of a Tree on your card)  and the SC92 Holiday Inspiration Photo Challenge
Again, if you have not visited the above sites, I hope you will do so- great inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Use a scrap piece of paper or a sticky note to mask the snow banks.  Use a Sponge Dauber with Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink onto the sky area and ink the retired stamp, Evergreen using Early Espresso Classic Ink and repeatedly stamp the trees in the background.

Use a Stampin’ Write Early Espresso marker to darken the trees and add highlights with a Faber-Castell White Pitt Pen.

Add additional highlights with a paint brush and Soft White acrylic paint as well as applying highlights to the snow banks.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Ovals Collection Framelits™ to cut the image into an oval, cut another oval the same size from Early Espresso cardstock- split the Early Espresso oval in half and mount behind the masked image.

Use the Two-Way Glue Pen to apply glue onto the branches and add Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

Use the Big Shot™ with the retired Holiday Frame Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock (ink the interior of the folder before embossing with Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink).  Carefully cut out the embossed panel.

Adhere a piece of Early Espresso cardstock to the end of a piece of Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and adhere to the Early Espresso card base.

Add the embossed frame and oval image using Stampin Dimensionals® to the card front.

Stamp the sentiment from the retired Greetings of the Season stamp set using Early Espresso Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  Create the banner using the Hexagon Punch, mount onto Early Espresso cardstock (creating the banner with the Hexagon Punch as well).

Add the sentiment to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the green Satin Ribbon bow to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Evergreen, Greetings of the Season

Ink: Baked Brown Sugar, Early Espresso; Faber-Castell White Pitt Pen, Soft White Acrylic Paint

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Early Espresso; Trim the Tree DSP
