Peace on Earth- Three Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!

I had a chance to relax and stamp last night and wanted to create a card using the PP224 Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge  (I chose Tree, Embossing and Glitter :-)) along with the CC507 Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge (dessert option of a Tree on your card)  and the SC92 Holiday Inspiration Photo Challenge
Again, if you have not visited the above sites, I hope you will do so- great inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Use a scrap piece of paper or a sticky note to mask the snow banks.  Use a Sponge Dauber with Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink onto the sky area and ink the retired stamp, Evergreen using Early Espresso Classic Ink and repeatedly stamp the trees in the background.

Use a Stampin’ Write Early Espresso marker to darken the trees and add highlights with a Faber-Castell White Pitt Pen.

Add additional highlights with a paint brush and Soft White acrylic paint as well as applying highlights to the snow banks.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Ovals Collection Framelits™ to cut the image into an oval, cut another oval the same size from Early Espresso cardstock- split the Early Espresso oval in half and mount behind the masked image.

Use the Two-Way Glue Pen to apply glue onto the branches and add Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

Use the Big Shot™ with the retired Holiday Frame Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock (ink the interior of the folder before embossing with Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink).  Carefully cut out the embossed panel.

Adhere a piece of Early Espresso cardstock to the end of a piece of Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and adhere to the Early Espresso card base.

Add the embossed frame and oval image using Stampin Dimensionals® to the card front.

Stamp the sentiment from the retired Greetings of the Season stamp set using Early Espresso Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  Create the banner using the Hexagon Punch, mount onto Early Espresso cardstock (creating the banner with the Hexagon Punch as well).

Add the sentiment to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the green Satin Ribbon bow to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Evergreen, Greetings of the Season

Ink: Baked Brown Sugar, Early Espresso; Faber-Castell White Pitt Pen, Soft White Acrylic Paint

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Early Espresso; Trim the Tree DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™, retired Holiday Frame Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Oval Framelits™, Sponge Dauber, Dazzling Diamonds, Satin Ribbon (from my stash)

Thanks again for visiting- I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!!

SUO84 Snowy Christmas Night

Hi Stampers!

It’s time for the new SUO84 SU-Only Challenge and the theme this for this challenge is “Let It Snow”.  I wanted to create another scene with falling snow, so decided to use the Masking Technique along with other techniques to create this card.

I hope you will take time to visit the SU-Only Challenge site and check out the rest of the Design Team’s creations- a fabulous array of different styles and projects!!

And of course, we would love to see you link up your “Let It Snow” card or project using Stampin’ Up! Only products- hope to see you there :-) !

To create this card:
Punch out a circle using the 1 ¼” Circle Punch from a sticky note and place the mask over the area for the moon on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Using Sponge Daubers lightly apply Pool Party Classic Ink, followed by Coastal Cabana Classic Ink and finally with Island Indigo Classic Ink.
Ink the row of tree lined images from Lovely As A Tree with Midnight Muse Classic Ink and stamp a few rows over the horizon area, follow with repeated stamping of the solid pine tree image from Evergreen (also inked with Midnight Muse Classic Ink).
Stamp the falling snow using Whisper White Craft Ink and the small dotted background stamp from Gorgeous Grunge.  Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.
Tearing a few layers of Whisper White cardstock to create the snowy banks on the lower part of the card, use the Two-Way Glue to apply adhesive and Dazzling Diamonds glitter.
Stamp the sentiment from More Merry Messages using Midnight Muse Classic Ink and hand tear around the sentiment, apply Two-Way Glue and Dazzling Diamonds glitter as well.
Adhere the layers of “snow” to the lower part of the Whisper White base and add the sentiment along with the 5/8” White Organza Double Ribbon bow.
Adhere the entire panel to the Midnight Muse card base and add the Frosted Flurry Embellishment to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets: Evergreen, Lovely As A Tree, More Merry Messages
Ink: Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Island Indigo, Midnight Muse
Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Midnight Muse
Accessories: Sponge Daubers, Two-Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds, 5/8” White Organza Ribbon, Frosted Flurry Embellishment

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you will find the time to visit us and enter your project into the SU-Only SUO84 “Let It Snow” Challenge - have a great day!!

Acrylic Block Technique for the Pals Paper Arts PPA170 Color Challenge

Hi Stampers!!

I hope all of you had a great weekend!!  I had so much fun yesterday spending time with fellow demos at our Joyful Hearts Quarterly meeting (I must admit, I have the best upline ever- Cindy Fodor :-)) and loved seeing all of my stamping “sisters” :-)

One of the 25 swaps that I have been busy creating :-)
I apologize for not posting often this week but I have been a bit busy with work as well as creating the twenty-five card fronts for the swap at the demo meeting (I cased myself and this swap card was a variation of a previously designed card here) :-))

I wanted to create another card so I decided to take a moment this evening to create a card using the colors from this week’s Pals PaperArts PPA170 Color Challenge

This classic color combo is so wonderful and perfect for so many types of cards – if you have not done so yet, I hope you can take the time to visit the Pals Paper Arts site and see all of the Design Team projects as well as the many other entries!

I decided to use the Acrylic Block Technique for this card and create another landscape (hope you are not getting tired of the landscape cards yet) :-)

To create this card:

Using Stampin’ Write markers in Crushed Curry and Midnight Muse, color an acrylic block and spritz water onto the ink before laying a piece of Whisper White cardstock over the ink on the block.

Ink the solid tree image from Evergreen using the Midnight Muse Classic Ink Pad or the marker, stamp repeatedly at different heights and stamp again using the Early Espresso marker or Classic Ink Pad.

Ink the script stamp from Notable Notions using Early Espresso ink and stamp off before stamping onto the image.  Spritz the image using the Color Spritzer Tool and the Midnight Muse Stampin’ Write marker.

Trim the image and adhere to a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and again onto a piece of Midnight Muse cardstock.

Emboss a piece of Crushed Curry Designer Series Paper using the Big Shot™ and the Argyle Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (I used a piece of retired DSP from the Hostess Level I pack) and lightly sand using the Sanding Block.   Mount onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and again onto a piece of Midnight Muse cardstock.

Adhere the entire panel onto a Whisper White card base and add a Tea Lace Paper Doily (cut in half).  Add the focal image and sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.  Adhere the ½” Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon double bow along with the Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Evergreen, Notable Notions, Petite Pairs

Ink:  Stampin’ Write Markers- Crushed Curry, Midnight Muse, Early Espresso

Paper:  Whisper White, Early Espresso, Midnight Muse, Crushed Curry Designer Series Paper

Accessories: Big Shot™, Argyle Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder. 1 3/8” Circle Punch, Tea Lace Paper Doily, Pearls, ½” Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon, Acrylic Block, Color Spritzer Tool (retired)

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a fabulous Monday!!

Christmas Blessings Deer- PP112 and SC401

Hi Stampers!

I just love the colors in this week’s PP112Color Challenge at The Paper Players so I had to take the time to stamp a Christmas card (I am still so far behind on my original commitment..I am such a procrastinator).  I also decided to incorporate the SplitcoaststampersSC401 Sketch Challenge- just love the sketches at Splitcoaststampers!

Both of these sites are so full of inspiration and if you are not careful, you can spend all day on the computer versus stamping …but I hope you find the time to visit them :-)

To create this card:

Punch the moon out using the 1 3/8” Circle Punch and apply Baja Breeze using Sponge Daubers for the sky (I used torn scrap paper to create the snow drifts).

Remove the moon mask and hold the torn paper pieces in place (for the snow drifts) as you stamp the back tree line using Basic Gray Classic- I used the tree grouping image from Lovely As A Tree.

Continue sponging Baja Breeze along the torn areas for the tops of the snow drifts in the center of the card and in the foreground.   Stamp the large foreground pines using Basic Gray (this tree stamp was from the new set, Evergreen) while masking a bit of the snow.  This sounds complicated but it is very easy- give it a try :-)!

Cover part of the snow area near the bottom with the mask and stamp the deer image using Basic Black.  My stamped image was not as bold as I had expected, so I darkened the image using the Basic Black SU! Marker.

Use the Big Shot™ to cut this entire panel out using an Oval Die and layer over another set of ovals cut from Basic Black cardstock (to frame the image).  Apply line glue lines using the 2-Way Glue Pen for the Dazzling Diamond details for the "sparkling snow"- this is hard to see the glitter in the photo but it is there:-).

Use the Big Shot™ the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock as well as a piece of Basic Gray DSP (from the DSP Stack).  Lightly sand the Basic Gray cardstock and layer both pieces onto a piece of Whisper White for the background layers of the sketch.

Add the ½” Baja Breeze Seam Binding over the middle section to cover the seam of the DSP and add the oval focal image with SU! Dimensionals.

Stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock, punch out using the XL Oval Punch and layer with Basic Black (two additional ovals overlapping to create the border).

Add the ½” Seam Binding bow and the felt snowflakes (retired SU!) highlighted with Dazzling Diamonds and Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Christmas Deer, Christmas Blessings, Evergreen, Lovely As A Tree

Ink: Baja Breeze, Basic Gray, Basic Black

Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Basic Gray DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Ovals Framelits™ (Sizzix), SU! Dimensionals, ½” Baja Breeze Seam Binding, Rhinestones, Dazzling Diamonds, Little Felt Flurries (retired)

Thanks again for stopping by- I had so much fun with this whimsical deer! I hope all of you have a great week creating and stamping- God Bless!
