SNSS Scripture Tree

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful week so far!  I had a chance to stamp in my stamping studio this evening (well, now it is morning-lol!) and wanted to share a card that I created with the brand new Scripture Tree Clear Stamp set from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps (designed by Korin Sutherland).

I just love how this Scripture has been designed into the shape of a Christmas tree and I think it will be perfect for quick, easy Christmas cards.

I decided to use the CTS#188 Sketch at CAS(E ) This Sketch for the layout- I hope you will have a chance to visit their site and check out all of the wonderful inspiration that one sketch can provide!

To create this card:

De-static a piece of vanilla cardstock with an Embossing Buddy®, stamp the SNSS Scripture Tree image with clear embossing ink, apply gold embossing powder and heat with a heat tool.

Trim the panel, mount onto cherry cardstock, trim again and add the cherry satin ribbon loops.

Trim a piece of designer paper to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”, mount onto a piece of cherry cardstock, trim close to the edge and mount onto the vanilla card base.

Add the Scripture Tree focal image panel to the card front with dimensional foam and finish off the card by adding a few sequins along with a pearl to the center of the star.

Quick and easy for sure!  I cannot wait to create a few more of these cards for Christmas this year :-)

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs and have a blessed week, sweet friends!

Faith In God- Truth Quotes

Hi Sweet Friends!

I hope all of you are having a fabulous week so far! Today I am featuring a brand new clear stamp set from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps, Truth Quotes 1  along with the previously released Autumn Mum Greetings stamp set for this quick and fun card.

The main panel is just one layer mounted onto a few layers before adding to the card base so I consider this a simple Mixed Media card :-).

I will be linking this card to TheDaily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge- Day #3 as well as a few online challenges at Splitcoaststampers- the All Occasion Card Challenge for July and the USEIT2016 Challenge (I had not inked Autumn Mum Blessings in quite a while).

If you have not had a chance to visit any of the challenge sites yet, I hope you will find the time to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the Autumn Mum Greetings large flower image (I omitted the leaves from some of the images) using Basic Black Stampin’ Archival Pad ink and stamp onto watercolor paper.

Also create two masks for the flower image, mask the flowers and repeatedly stamp onto the watercolor panel (adding a few leaves as you create your flower pattern).

Use an AquaPainter™ with ink from Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves Distress Ink to color the flowers and add shadows with the Picked Raspberry Distress Marker.

Watercolor the background using the AquaPainter™ along with Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Ink and the leaves with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink and Distress Marker.

The dark purple made this card a
bit difficult to photograph
Use the Heat Tool to dry the panel and use a modified version of the Vintage Watercolor Technique to add the darker shadows (my modified version uses the Elegant Writer® Black Pen by Speedball® to outline some of the areas along with the AquaPainter® to pull the ink out into the background, leaves and flowers...the main modification is that my panel has color versus all neutrals).

Again, use the Heat Tool to thoroughly dry the background panel, de-static the area for the sentiment with the Embossing Buddy®, ink the sentiment from Truth Quotes 1 with Versamark™ Ink, stamp onto the panel and heat emboss with white embossing powder.

Apply Clear Wink of Stella® to all of the blossoms.

Trim the panel, mount onto a piece of Wild Wasabi cardstock, trim again and mount onto Rich Razzleberry cardstock before adding the entire panel to the Extra Thick Whisper White card base.

Stamp Sets:  Truth Quotes 1, Autumn Mum Greetings  (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)

Ink:  Versamark™, Basic Black Stampin’ Archival™, Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Ink- Spun  Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Mowed Lawn; Speedball® Elegant Writer® Black Pen;  Clear Wink of Stella®

Paper: Watercolor, Wild Wasabi, Rich Razzleberry

Accessories: AquaPainter™, Embossing Buddy®, Heat Tool, Stampin’ Emboss® White Embossing Powder

Thanks again for stopping by- I am so encouraged by your visits and comments!  Have a blessed week, my friends!

I Am Loved and We Are Free!

Hi Friends!

Today it is my turn to post on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps blog and I designed a card that reflects a bit of patriotism, summer flowers and the freedom that we have here in the United States.

"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends".  John 15:13  NKJV

Today is Memorial Day here in the United States and may we never forget the men and women who laid down their lives to defend our country and the families that they left behind....we are free because they were faithful.

This card was designed using Grunge Elements, Grunge Elements 2, I Am Loved and Prim Blessings Clear Stamp Sets all from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

I also incorporated the Splitcoaststampers' WT585 "May Flowers" Challenge and the Alphabet Challenge Week 19 "S" Challenge (Sunflowers, Stripes, String) into the design :-)

I hope you will take the time to visit the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog- my Creative Design Team "Sisters" post frequently and there is so much inspiration in their designs as well as those at the Splitcoaststampers' galleries.

To create this card:

Using sticky note paper, create a masked area in the upper left hand corner of a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Ink the heart image from Grunge Elements 2 with Versamark™ Ink, stamp onto the masked area, apply white embossing powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Allow the embossing powder to cool for a few minutes and use a sponge applicator to apply Ranger® Tim Holtz® Faded Denim Distress Ink, wipe off the excess ink from the embossed areas, remove the mask and re-mask over the “heart-star” area.

Ink the strip image from Grunge Elements using Ranger® Tim Holtz® Fired Brick Distress Ink and stamp onto the card front createing the stripes (overlapping the images in a row for the length of the paper).

To tone down the brightness of the background , apply Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea Dye Distress Ink and a light layer of Gesso®.

Use the Big Shot™ with the woodgrain embossing folder to emboss the panel, trim the panel and add a piece of knotted hemp twine.

Mount the panel onto the black card base.

Ink the sunflower images from Prim Blessings with Staz-On Jet Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Cut out the flowers, color using a water brush with distress ink and markers and sponge a bit of Ranger® Tim Holtz® Antique Linen Distress Ink over the images.

Add Clear Wink of Stella® over all of the flowers and mount onto the card front (I used Hot Glue).

Ink the girl image from I Am Loved using Versamark™ Ink, stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, apply black embossing powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Carefully fussy cut the image and mount to the card front with dimensional foam.

Heat emboss the sentiment from Prim Blessings with black embossing powder, trim and create the banner points with a punch, mount onto black carstock and distress with Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea Dye Distress Ink and the Grunge Elements small splatter stamp.

I Am Loved
Color the hearts in the sentiment with a red marker and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Puppy Love

Hi Friends!

I hope you are having a great weekend so far!  I have been having fun creating cards for the May 2016 MISSION- Cards for A Cause (Rose’s Fund for Animals- see details here) and decided to create a card using the Splitcoaststampers’ SC592 Sketch Challenge and the Free For All F4A323 “Dogs Are Kids Too” Challenge.

The Puppy Love Clear Stamp Set from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps (SNSS) is perfect for all sorts of cards for your dog loving friends and I decided to pair the Puppy Love Clear Stamp Set with Grunge Elements Clear Stamp Set to design this card.

If you have not had a chance to check out the above challenge sites, I hope you will find time to do so- wonderful samples from all!

To create this card:

Ink the dog image from Puppy Love with Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto Very Vanilla cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Circle Framelits™ to cut out the image and cut another circle from Basic Black cardstock for the frame.

Using Ranger® Tim Holtz® Old Paper Distress Ink, stamp the paw prints from the Puppy Love set around the dog image along with the lined image and splatter stamp from Grunge Elements Clear Stamp Set (SNSS).

Use a Faber-Castell® Pitt Pen Black XS Marker to add dots to the foreground as well as additional shadows.

Mount the die cut dog image onto the Basic Black cie cut circle frame and set aside.

Ink the sentiment from Puppy Love with Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto Very Vanilla cardstock, add a few paw prints with Ranger® Tim Holtz® Old Paper Distress Ink, trim and add the banner points with the Hexagon Punch.

Mount onto Basic Black cardstock (again adding banner points with the Hexagon Punch).

Emboss a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Folder, trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim and mount onto the Real Red card base.

Emboss a piece of Real Red Designer Series Paper with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Folder, trim on an angle, mount onto Basic Black cardstock and add to the front of the card.

Happy Father's Day!

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful week so far!!

I know, what- Father's Day?  This weekend is Mother's Day... and you are right!  I am not confused and am hoping most of you have already finished your Mother's Day cards, so I am looking ahead to Father's Day :-)

Birch Forest Dies
Tender Thoughts
Today it is my turn to share on the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps blog and I am sharing a quick Father’s Day card that I designed with TenderThoughts Clear Stamp Set, Shining Light Clear Stamp Set and the coordinating die set, Birch Forest Dies – I just love both of these stamp sets as well as the matching dies!

In addition to Father’s Day, I think that the images and sentiments from the Tender Thoughts Clear Stamp Set are perfect for so many occasions- Birthday, Sympathy, Thinking of You, Praying for You, Christmas, Get Well and many more, plus no fussy-cutting with the Birch Forest Dies (love saving time)!
Shining Light

The Shining Light Clear Stamp Set is just as versatile- love the lighthouse image and several verses of Scripture- again, perfect for so many occasions!

Combine the three and you have a fantastic combination of stamps and dies to create cards along with projects to bless those in your life all year round!

I hope you will find the time to visit us at the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps blog as well as checking out the cards and galleries at the above challenge sites- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the birch tree image from the TenderThoughts Clear Stamp Set using Smoky Slate Classic Ink, stamp onto white cardstock and die cut with the Big Shot™ and the coordinating die from Birch Forest Dies...(FYI- I use the magnetic platform with my Big Shot™ which helps immensely, but if you do not have the magnetic platform, you will need to use a quick release tape or Washi Tape to hold the die in place).

Repeat the above steps with the deer image from the Tender Thoughts Clear Stamp Set using Archival Stampin’ Pad™ Basic Black Ink (heat set with the Heat Tool).

Stamp the sentiment from the Shining Light Clear Stamp Set with Archival Stampin’ Pad™ Basic Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto Basic Black cardstock (I created the banners  with a punch).

Create a few more banners from patterned paper ( I sponged the dotted layer using Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink and Tim Holtz® Vintage Photo Distress Ink), layer onto the dry embossed background and add a black button for interest.

Ink/Medium: Archival Stampin’ Pad™ Basic Black, Smoky Slate and Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink; Ranger® Tim Holtz® Vintage Photo Distress Ink

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black; retired Designer Series Paper (Stampin’ Up!)

Accessories: Big Shot™, Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Birch Forest Dies (Sweet ‘n SassyStamps), Heat Tool, Sponge Dauber, retired Basic Black button, White Thread, Sanding Block

Refuge Under His Wings

Hello Friends!

I love the images and words of the new clear stamp set, His Wings (designed by Korin Sutherland for the CreativeWorship Line of Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps) and I decided to pair it with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Grunge Elementsclear stamp set for this quick Clean and Simple (CAS) Card.

I hope you will have a chance to check out the galleries at both challenge sites- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

De-static a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Embossing Buddy®, ink the three feather images along with the bird from His Wings  (SNSS) using Versamark™ Ink and stamp onto the prepared panel.

Apply Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Once the embossing powder has cooled, use Stampin’ Write Markers to color the large feather as well as the peacock feather (I used Soft Sky, Tempting Turquoise for the large feather and Wild Wasabi, Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight for the peacock feather).

Fussy cut all of the images and set aside.

I love the verse:
"He will cover you with his feathers,  and under his wings you will find refuge"   Psalm 91:4a (NIV)

and decided to use the "Find Refuge Under His Wings" for my sentiment.

Position the words on a large clear block (I used my MISTI® Tool) and stamp with the Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad.

I heat set the words with the Heat Tool and added the splatter with the large splatter image from Grunge Elements stamp using Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink (to lighten the image, I stamped off the splatter image onto a scrap piece of paper before stamping over the words).

Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Add the feathers with Silver Cord looped around the feathers to the card front.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Argyle Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and add to the card front using dimensional foam.

Mount the bird using dimensional foam and add a Rhinestone to the peacock feather to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  His Wings, Grunge Elements  (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)

Ink: Versamark™, Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Pad, Tempting Turquoise

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Argyle Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, MISTI® , Silver Cord

Thanks again for stopping by! Hugs and have a blessed week, my friends :-)

All You Need is Love...And A Cat

Hello Friends!

I wanted to share a card that I created using the fun Kitty Love stamp set from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps for the Splitcoaststampers CC565 Color Challenge along with the Ways toUse It WT573 “Pet Sitters” Challenge.

This is also one of the designs for the February 2016 Cards for A Cause Card Drive for the Tri-County Humane Society in Monticello, MN :-)

I hope you will find time to visit the above galleries, and if you are interested, please come join in on the Cards for A Cause card drive- March’s Cards for A Cause Card Drive information is here (FYI- last year Splitcoaststampers sent over 6300+ cards to worthy causes for the monthly card drives- what an honor to be part of that this year).

To create this card:

Ink the stretching cat image from the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps (SNSS) Kitty Love set using Stampin’ Up! Black Archival Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock (I used my MISTI® Tool for alignment and repeated stamping to get the images nice and dark and I also sped up the ink drying time by heat setting the image with the Heat Tool).

Align the first part of the sentiment above the cat image and stamp using Stampin’ Up! Black Archival Ink (this is where the MISTI® really comes in handy for me).

Use a pencil to add the shadows for the kitty, cut out the cat panel and mount onto Basic Black cardstock.

On a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the rest of the sentiment along with a few paw prints using Stampin’ Up! Black Archival Ink, trim the sentiment, create the banner points with the Hexagon Punch, mount onto Basic Black cardstock ( again using the Hexagon Punch to create the banner points) and add a Real Red heart (from the Owl Builder Punch).

Add a piece of black and white designer  paper to a piece of Basic Black cardstock, mount onto the Whisper White card base, add the Real Red vertical panel and mount the kitty image panel directly to the card front.

Add the sentiment using dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Quick and simple- and I agree, the love of a cat is wonderful!!

Stamp Sets:  Kitty Love (SNSS)

Ink: Black Archival (Stampin’ Up!), Pencil

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, retired Real Red DSP (Stampin’ Up!), Black and White designer paper from my stash

Accessories:  Big Shot™, MFT Stitched Rectangle Dies, Stampin’ Up! Punches- Hexagon, Owl Builder

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- hugs and have a blessed week, my friends!
