Another Quick Set of Christmas Cards

Hi Friends!

This week we are focusing on Christmas and my Design Team sisters have created the most beautiful cards.  I hope you take a few minutes to check them out at the Stamp Simply blog!

Today I am sharing another set of quick cards using the Studio Light Sending Joy 6x6 paper pad along with the Merry Christmas Stamp and Die Bundle,  Wonder of Christmas Sentiments stamp set, and a pearl.

With this paper pad, a stamp set or two, and die set, you can create over 40 cards very easily!  FYI- I have two additional quick cards in my last post here.

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy playing along with online challenges,  so I will be linking this card to the A Place to Start November 2023 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to check out my Sister DT cards yet, or the A Place To Start Challenge site, I hope you will do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create both of these cards:

Trim two pieces of the Studio Light Sending Joy 6x6 paper to 4”x 5 ¼” and distress the edges with a distressing tool.

De-static the panels with an embossing powder tool, ink the sentiments with Versafine Onyx Black, stamp directly onto the designer paper, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Distress the edges of the designer paper and adhere the panels to black cardstock (4 ⅛” x 5 ⅜”), trimming close to the edges.

For the star card, de-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the star image from the Merry Christmas stamp set with Versamark ink onto white cardstock, stamp onto the prepared cardstock, apply gold embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut the star  with the coordinating star die. Also die cut another star from plain white cardstock to layer behind the embossed image.

Mount onto the star onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Add a pearl to the star center and adhere the entire panel to a white card base to finish off the card.

The second card is even easier!  After embossing the sentiment onto the panel and mounting onto black cardstock, adhere to a piece of cherry cardstock and mount onto a white card base.

Both cards are nice and flat for mailing as well!

Stamp Sets: Wonder of Christmas , Merry Christmas Bundle (Stamp Simply)

Inks/Mediums: Versamark, Versafine Onyx Black

Cardstock/Paper: White, Black, Studio Light Sending Joy 6x6

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., Stamp Simply Dies- Merry Christmas Bundle, Embossing Powder Tool, Clear and Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Kaisercraft Self-Adhesive Round Pearls- Pearl

I hope I have inspired you to create a few quick Christmas cards this week! Also, don’t miss out on the current specials at Stamp Simply!

TCC44 Christmas In The Air

Hi Friends!!

It is time for the new Card Concept #44 Photo Inspiration Challenge- I just love this cozy homespun scene!

I was inspired by the rustic stars as well as the traditional plaid for my Mixed Media card design.

Just a reminder that the Card Concept is a bi-weekly challenge that has an inspiration photo along with a number of design styles that you can choose from to create your card- Clean and Simple, Clean and Graphic, Clean and Layered, Shabby Chic, Freestyle Collage, Classy and Elegant and Mixed Media.

I hope you can find some time to gather your supplies together and come join in on the fun!!

To create this card:

Ink the retired Christmas Star stamp using Cajun Craze Classic Ink and stamp onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Use a Sponge Dauber to add Early Espresso Classic Ink to distress the star and create a rust finish.

Fussy-cut the star, score along all of the lines, folding the score lines to give a bit of dimension and use a foam brush to apply Mod Podge® to the star.

Using a foam brush, apply Gesso® to a piece of cardstock and once dry, use a palette knife with the Memory Box™ Heartwood Stencil to spread Finnabair® ArtExtravagance™ Copper Crackle Texture Paste onto the prepared cardstock.

Once the texture paste as dried, apply more Gesso® with your finger to tone down the copper and show the texture from the stencil.

Mount the stenciled background along with a piece of gingham designer paper onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using a sewing machine with a zig zag stitch.

Add the 5/8” Green Satin Ribbon and Ivory Crochet Lace Trim wrapping the ends behind the panel.

Mount the panel onto the Always Artichoke card base.

Adhere the looped Copper Cord Trim to the card front and mount the star image using dimensional foam.

Stamp the sentiment using Early Espresso Classic Ink, roll lightly into a bit of Cajun Craze Classic Ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock, trim and create a banner with the Hexagon Punch.

Mount the sentiment using dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Christmas Star, Open Sleigh (retired Stampin’ Up!)

Ink: Cajun Craze, Early Espresso

Paper: Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke, Green Plaid Designer Paper (not sure of manufacturer)

Accessories: Gesso®, Finnabair® ArtExtravagance™ Copper Crackle Texture Paste, Memory Box™ Heartwood Stencil, 5/8” Green Satin Ribbon, Ivory Crochet Lace Trim, Copper Cord Trim, Sewing Machine, Thread

JUN14VSNF Celebrate! A CAS Patriotic Color Combo :-)

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to continue to participate with the Splitcoaststampers’ Virtual Stamping Night (VSN)- Summer Vacation and this card is created for the JUN14VSNF “Wish on a Star” Challenge along with the CC480 “RealWhite Night” Patriotic Colors and the CTS79 CAS(E) This Sketch! Challenge.

I hope you have had a chance to visit the challenge sites- again, great designs and inspiration from all!

I definitely used Real Red (although the photo looks more like the retired Poppy Parade- I find it very difficult to photograph reds- lol!! )

To create this Clean and Simple (CAS) card:

Cut the strips of Real Red Designer Series Paper (DSP) approx. 1” wide and various lengths (mine are approx. 3 ¾” and 3 ¼” long).  Mount onto Night of Navy cardstock.
Adhere a piece of Whisper White cardstock to a piece of Night of Navy cardstock, trim and mount onto the Real Red card base.

Add the various strips of DSP per the sketch onto the front of the card.
Stamp the star from Simply Stars (retired set) onto Whisper White cardstock using Night of Navy and Real Red Classic Ink.

Punch out a star from Night of Navy cardstock using the retired Star Punch, punch out the Night of Navy stamped star using a non-SU! star punch and the Real Red stamped star using the star from Merry Minis Punch pack- layer and adhere the three stars together.

Stamp the sentiment from Feeling Sentimental using Night of Navy Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and create the banner points using the Hexagon Punch.
Mount the sentiment and the layered star to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Simply Stars, Feeling Sentimental

Ink: Night of Navy, Real Red

Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy, retired Real Red DSP (from various Hostess Level I Packs)

Stamp the star image from Simply Stars using Night of Navy Classic Ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and punch out using the retired Star Punch.   Add a small star to the center (punched out from Cajun Craze cardstock using the retired Merry Minis Punch Pack) and add a metallic brad to the center.

CAS Patriotic Star

Hi Stampers!

I had a chance to stamp today and decided to create a card for LeAnne’s CAS PP183Challenge at The Paper Players along with the Splitcoaststampers Love Fest LOVEFEST2014GChallenge to use scoring and WT467 Starry Eyed Challenge

If you have not had a chance to check out both sites, I hope you will take the time to visit- great inspiration by all!

I love this retired star, Christmas Star and thought that it could be used for other occasions versus just for Christmas....I decided to create a patriotic card...

To create this card:

Use Stampin’ Write markers in Cherry Cobbler and Midnight Muse (alternating the colors for each panel of the star) and stamp the image onto Whisper White cardstock.

*** HINT *** “Huff” onto the stamp for a second image to be used at a later date before cleaning the stamp :-)

Carefully cut out the stamped image by hand and use the Simply Scored Tool to create score lines, fold onto the lines to create a dimensional star.

Ink the diagonal line image stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Cherry Cobbler Classic ink,  the splatter stamp using Midnight Muse Classic Ink and stamp off before stamping onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Trim and adhere onto a piece of Midnight Muse cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Cherry Cobbler card base.

Stamp the sentiment from Express Yourself using Midnight Muse Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  Create a banner using the Hexagon Punch and mount onto a piece of Midnight Muse cardstock (using the Hexagon Punch to create banner points as well).

Mount the star and banner to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.  Add a few Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Christmas Star, Gorgeous Grunge, Express Yourself

Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Midnight Muse; Stampin’ Write Markers- Cherry Cobbler, Midnight Muse

Paper: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Midnight Muse

Accessories: Rhinestones, Hexagon Punch

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by and visit- I hope all of you enjoy the rest of the week!
