HYCCT1407 A Spoonful of Sugar :-)

Hi Stampers!

Here is another card for the Splitcoaststampers Hope You CanCling To Challenge (HYCCT) to promote Breast Cancer Awareness and create cards to encourage those with cancer and their families.

This card was created for Scraperwannabe aka Misti’s HYCCT1407 “A Spoonful of Sugar” Challenge- (see the gallery here and the details here) along with the Nacho Average Challenges NAC113 Sketch.

Again, I hope you will find the time to check out the links above and if you can, come play along!

To create this card:

Ink the gingerbread man image from the retired set, Scentsational Seasons using Baked Brown Sugar and stamp onto the lower right hand corner of a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Holiday Collection Framelits™ to cut out the gingerbread man.  Use the Medium Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blendabilities™ marker to color the eyes and trim on the gingerbread image and the Baked Brown Sugar Stampin’ Write marker to darken the gingerbread (I had to do this step since the ink was not fully covered on the image- oops! :-))

Ink the gingerbread man image again using Baked Brown Sugar and stamp repeatedly (re-inking before stamping each time) down the left hand side of the same piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and trim the panel to 4” x 5 ¼”.

Mount the panel onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock, trim and mount onto the Very Vanilla card base.

Create the tag using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and a 2” piece of Baked Brown Sugar cardstock.

Add a piece of retired Vintage Crochet Trim to the bottom of the tag and cover the top edge of the trim with a scrap piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

Create the paper bow using Cherry Cobbler cardstock (use the Large Oval Punch and the Hexagon Punch to create the bow), add a Very Vanilla Neutral Collection button to the center and add the bow to the top of the tag.

Add the tag to the card front and mount the gingerbread image using Stampin’ Dimensionals® (no one will be the wiser that you cut out the first gingerbread image but you :-)).

Stamp the sentiment from the retired set, Holiday Wishes using Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Scentsational Season, Holiday Wishes (both retired)

Ink:  Baked Brown Sugar, Cherry Cobbler, Stampin’ Blendabilities™- Medium Cherry Cobbler marker

Paper: Very Vanilla, Baked Brown Sugar

Accessories: Big Shot™,  Holiday Collection Framelits™ (retired), Punches- Large Oval, Hexagon; retired Vintage Crochet Trim, Very Vanilla button

Thanks again for stopping by- I will share a few more of the challenges throughout the evening :-)

JUN14VSNI Masking Birthday Fun!

Hi Again Stampers!

Again, if you have not visited either of the sites above, I hope you will take the time to do so- great ideas and inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Since the “Tan Lines” Challenge is to use masking, I used two different types of masks.  The initial mask is a square cut from Whisper White cardstock using the Square Collections Framelits™ (the opening was remaining after the image was cut out) and I used sticky notes to mask the flowers as I stamped the images.
Use a Sponge Dauber with Blushing Bride Classic Ink to apply the background ink onto the opening from the square cutout.
Using Stippled Blossoms along with Strawberry Slush Classic Ink, repeatedly stamp a few of the flowers.  Mask the flowers using a sticky note and stamp again (huffing onto the stamp to re-moisten the ink before stamping).  With the flower masks still in place, stamp the leaves using Pistachio Pudding Classic Ink.  Remove the masks and stamp a few of the small flowers using Blushing Bride Classic Ink.
Trim around the panel allowing some of the white to show and mount onto a piece of Pistachio Pudding cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock.

Adhere a piece of Blushing Bride Designer Series Paper (DSP) onto a piece of Pistachio Pudding cardstock, trim and mount onto the Strawberry Slush card base.

Stamp the sentiment from Wetlands using Memento™ Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and punch out using the XL Oval Punch. Mount onto a piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock also punched with the XL Oval Punch.

Adhere the sentiment to the front of the card and mount the main focal panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.  Add the Strawberry Slush cardstock bow along with the Antique Brad.

Stamp the butterflies using Memento™ Tuxedo Black ink onto Blushing Bride cardstock and punch out using the Elegant Butterfly Punch.  Use the Strawberry Slush Stampin’ Write marker to color part of the butterfly and add a few highlights with the Chalk Marker.

Add to the card front along with a few Pearls to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets: Stippled Blossoms, Papillon Potpourri, Wetlands
Ink: Blushing Bride, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink,

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, retired Blushing Bride DSP

Accessories: Sticky Notes for Masks, Punches: Large and XL Oval Punch, Hexagon, Elegant Butterfly, Pearls, Antique Brad

Thanks again for stopping by- I have one more VSN card to share this evening and two more to finish all of the challenges  :-)

Hello Sweet Friend- Roses for Two Challenges

Hi Stampers!

I finally had a chance to play around in my craft room today and wanted to create a card using the Pals Paper Arts PPA202 Colors and the Freshly Made SketchesFMS134 Sketch

Both of these sites have fabulous Design Teams and I hope you will have a chance to check them out!!

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ with the Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and adhere it to the Bermuda Bay card base.

Adhere a White Paper Tea Lace Doily (cut in half) and add the strip of Real Red cardstock mounted onto a strip of Bermuda Bay cardstock.

Create the mini tag using the Big Shot™ and the Chalk Talk Framelits™- cut two frames (one from the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack and the other from Bermuda Bay cardstock).  Cut the tag in the middle and layer to create a shortened version for the sketch layout.

Adhere the tag to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the Real Red paper bow (created with two Large Ovals and strips of Real Red cardstock using the Hexagon Punch to create the banner points).

Add the sentiment from Six Sided Sampler (punched out with the Large Oval Punch and layered onto a Large Oval from Bermuda Bay cardstock).  Add a strip of Bermuda Bay cardstock across the top of the sentiment and add the row of Pearls.

Create the rolled flowers from the 1 ¾”and 1 ¼” Scalloped Circle Punch, use scissors to cut a wavy spiral from the outside of the scallop toward the center, scrunch the paper by hand and starting from the outside, roll into the spiral and adhere (I have found that Hot Glue works well).  Here is a tutorial for the basic idea from Splitcoaststampers:-)

Adhere the rolled roses to the tag and in the center of the bow along with the Bermuda Bay leaves created with the Bird Builder Punch to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Six Sided Sampler

Ink: Basic Black

Paper: Bermuda Bay, Real Red, Fresh Prints DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™, ChevronTextured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Chalk Talk Framelits™, Punches- Large Oval, Hexagon, Bird Builder, White Tea Lace Paper Doily

Thanks for stopping by- I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Stampers!

Time for another SUO-Only Challenge and the SUO92 Challenge is “Pinks and Purples” so I decided to combine both on my card :-)

I wanted to also participate in the Seize the Birthday Anything Goes Challenge since it seems as though I never have enough birthday cards on hand :-).

I hope you will take the time to visit both sites and come join in on the fun!!

To create this card:

Adhere the Wisteria Wonder background from the Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper (DSP) onto a piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock, trim and layer onto Wisteria Wonder cardstock.

Add the ½ Tea Lace Paper Doily to the lower half of the card front, add the ruffled Wisteria Wonder ribbon to hide the seam of the doily.  Adhere the card front to a piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock and mount onto the Naturals White card base.
Using the Scalloped Tag Punch, cut a tag from Elegant Eggplant cardstock and another one from Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper (DSP)- trim the Afternoon Tea DSP strip and layer onto the Elegant Eggplant tag.
Stamp the sentiment from the Hostess set, Express Yourself using Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink onto a piece of Naturals White cardstock.  Trim and round the corner using the inside of the 1 ¼” Circle Punch and create the banner points using the Hexagon Punch.  Layer onto a piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock, trim to create a frame, round the corner and create the banner using the same punches.- add the tag to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® .
Create rolled flowers using the 2 3/8”, 1 ¾” and 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punches from Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo cardstock and Afternoon Tea DSP- punch the scallop circles, crimp using the retired Crimper Tool, hand cut a wavy spiral from the outside of the scallop circle toward the center, roll up from the outside edge and adhere using Tombow Multi-Purpose Adhesive (or a Hot Glue Gun) .
Punch the leaves from Pear Pizzazz cardstock using the Bird Builder Punch.   Add the roses and leaves to the front of the card front.
Create the paper bow from Melon Mambo cardstock using the Large Oval Punch along with the Hexagon Punch.  Add a rolled rose along with leaves to the center and adhere to the top of the tag.
Add the Pearls to the ribbon to finish off the card.

DD91 Happy Birthday Quilt

Hi Stampers!

Wow!  Another week has flown by and it is time for the new DD91 “Triple Threat” Dynamic Duo Challengecombines three (that’s right, three) bright and beautiful colors- Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango and Wild Wasabi.

I love this fun color combo and actually created two cards- I will share the other one a bit later :-)

Again, I hope that you will find the time to stop by and check out the rest of the Dynamic Duos Design Team projects and create one of your own using this week’s colors - we would love to have you join us!!

To create this card:

Layer a piece of Wild Wasabi onto a piece of Basic Black card stock and mount onto your card base (I used Whisper White but you cannot see the base in the photo).

The next step, create the color blocks for the background (don't forget to check your scraps :-))  I used pieces of Tangerine Tango Designer Series Paper (DSP) layered onto scraps of Basic Black and previously embossed pieces of Melon Mambo (also from my scraps that had been embossed using the Big Shot™ along with the retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder) again, layered onto scraps of Basic Black cardstock- have I said it enough?  I love my scraps!! :-)    I organize my scraps in sandwich size ziplock bags and keep them with card front size pieces of the same color cardstock.  Easy to find and easy to use!!

Layer a piece of Whisper White cardstock onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock for the vertical layer on top of the color blocks.

Emboss a piece of Whisper White using Big Shot™ with the Pretty Print Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and layer onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.  Add the sentiment from Express Yourself (stamped in Basic Black onto Whisper White cardstock and punched out with the Large Oval Punch, layer onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, also punched with the Large Oval Punch).  Adhere the sentiment on the side of the embossed Whisper White panel on the side.

Mount the embossed panel to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Create the focal quilt block using the Big Shot™ with the Quilt Die (from W9Studios), cut four quilts, one from each of the colors along with one from Basic Black cardstock.   Assemble the quilt onto a piece of Whisper White using Two-Way Glue (do not be too heavy handed on the glue).

Once assembled, layer onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and emboss with the Big Shot™ and the retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and mount to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Create the paper bow from embossed Melon Mambo cardstock (again, embossed with the Big Shot™ along with the retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder)- punch two ovals using the Large Oval Punch, a small scrap for the center and a longer rectangular piece for the tails.  Cut the longer rectangular piece in half and create the points for the tails using the Hexagon Punch.  Adhere the two larger ovals in half using Mini Glue Dots or a Hot Glue Gun(use your Bone Folder first to softly curve the cardstock).  Adhere the two ovals to the small piece of cardstock scrap and add the two tails.  Add the Antique Brad to the center to finish off the bow and glue onto the card front.

Add the Pearl to the center of the quilt to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Express Yourself (hostess set)
Ink: Basic Black
Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi, Designer Series Paper- Tangerine Tango DSP Stack
Accessories: Big Shot™, Pretty Print and retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, Quilt Die (non SU! WPlus9 Studios), Punches- Large and XL Oval, Hexagon, Pearls, Antique Brad

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- I hope you can join in the fun with our DD91 Dynamic Duos “TripleThreat” Challenge!

DD89 Soft & Subtle Birthday

Hi Stampers!

This week’s DD89 “Subtly Yours” Dynamic Duo Challenge combines the new In-Color Pistachio Pudding with Blushing Bride.  Such a soft, pretty color combination reminds me of spring and with the crazy weather this past week, we could use a bit of spring :-)

I decided to include chevrons for this birthday card and participate in the Seize the Birthday "Chevrons and Birthday" challenge as well (if you have not already done so, click here to check out their Design Team and entries) :-)

Again, I hope that you will find the time to stop by and check out the rest of the Dynamic Duos Design Team projects and create one of your own using this week’s colors - we would love to have you join us!!

To create this card:

Using the hostess set, Simply Sketched, stamp the floral image with Basic Black Classic Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and color with Stampin’ Write markers- Blushing Bride for the petals and Pistachio Pudding for the stem.   Add a few shadows using the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker and the highlights with the Chalk Marker.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Designer Frames Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss the image (lining up within the embossing folder).  Carefully cut out around the outside of the frame.

Mount the embossed frame onto a label created from the Deco Labels Framelits™ and the 2 ½” Circle Punch (first cut the Deco Label Framelit™ from Basic Black cardstock using the Big Shot™, cut in half vertically (through the rounded portion), split apart a bit and add the 2 ½” Circle punched from Basic Black to cover the rounded part of the Deco Label and give it a bit more width).

Use the Big Shot™ to emboss a piece of Pistachio Pudding cardstock with the Beautifully Baroque Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Cut both pieces to position onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim and mount onto the Whisper White card base (the Basic Black layer hides the Whisper White card base completely from the front).

Add ½ of a Tea Lace Paper Doily and cover the edges of the doily with a strip of Blushing Bride cardstock.  Add the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

To create the sentiment label:  Stamp the sentiment using Basic Black Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and punch out with the XL Oval Punch.  Punch two additional XL Oval shapes from Basic Black cardstock, adhere the two Basic Black ovals together spreading apart a bit so that the sentiment will have a “frame” and adhere the sentiment.  Punch a piece of Basic Black cardstock using the Mosaic Punch, cut in half and add behind the sentiment layer.   Adhere the sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals® on the lower portion and regular adhesive where the sentiment attaches to the Deco Label focal image (leaving room for the paper bow).

Create the paper bow- Punch two Large Ovals from Blushing Bride cardstock and use the Bone Folder to break up the fibers and curl the paper.  Adhere the two ovals in half and use a Mini Glue Dot to hold the edges of the bow, adhere to a small strip of scrap Blushing Bride cardstock.   Cut two strips of Blushing Bride cardstock for the “tails” and use the Hexagon Punch to create the points.  Add to the back of the bow and adhere the Antique Brad to the center (I cut off the brad ends before adhering to the bow).

Add the bow to the card front to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Simply Sketched
Ink: Basic Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Blushing Bride, Pistachio Pudding, Sahara Sand; Chalk Marker
Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Pistachio Pudding
Accessories: Big Shot™, Designer Frames, Beautifully Baroque and Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, Deco Label Framelits™, Punches- XL Oval, Large Oval, Mosaic, Hexagon, 2 ½” Circle, Tea Lace Paper Doily, Antique Brad

Above & Beyond- A Color and Sketch Challenge :-)

Hi Again Stampers!!
Here is the second card that I created using the CQC211 ColourQ Challenge Colors along with the PPA176 Sketch at Pals Paper Arts (although I am too late to link up to the PPA sketch- I still wanted to share :-))

Again, I hope you will take the time to visit each site – amazing inspiration from all of the Design Team projects as well as the other entrants!

This card was quick and easy for me since I used quite a few scraps that were already pre-punched (remember, I punch out all of my layers that you do not see and use them for other cards :-))...comes in handy when I need a quick card :-)

To create this card:

Using the Big Shot™ emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and adhere the Basic Black diagonal piece of cardstock per the sketch.

Stamp the sentiment from One in a Million using White Craft Ink and adhere the panel to a background piece of Whisper White and again onto the Basic Blaxk card base.

Add the Basic Black cardstock strip along with the piece of Whisper White (all from my scraps) and trim to size.

Create the flowers- use the Pansy Punch and Strawberry Slush cardstock,  the 5 Petal Punch for the leaves from Lucky Limeade cardstock and the 7/8” Scallop Circle Punch from Whisper White cardstock for flower centers.  Add the retired Pumpkin Pie corduroy button brad to the flower centers and adhere the flowers to the diagonal panel.

Create the paper bow with the XL Oval Punch and a few scrap pieces of Strawberry Sluch cardstock- add the retired Pumpkin Pie corduroy button brad.  Adhere to the strip at the bottom to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  One in A Million

Ink: White Craft Ink

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Strawberry Slush, Lucky Limeade (retired)

Accessories: Big Shot™,  Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder,  Punches- Pansy, 7/8” Scallop Circle, 5 Petal , XL Oval; retired Pumpkin Pie corduroy button brads

Holly, Berry Christmas- A Color and Sketch Challenge

Hi Stampers!

This afternoon I was able to work on another Christmas card design for the CCC13 Challenge and decided to use The Freshly Made FM107 Sketch Challenge along with the PPA175 ColorChallenge at Pals Paper Arts.   I hope you will find the time to stop by and visit each site- again, such great inspiration!

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ with the Chalk Talk Framelits™ to cut two of the large tags- one from Whisper White cardstock and the other from Cajun Craze and from Whisper White cardstock one of the narrow rectangular tags.

Stamp the sentiment from the retired set, Contempo Christmas using Cajun Craze onto the narrow rectangular tag and hand cut the banner points (or use a 1 “ Square Punch).

On the larger Whisper White Chalk Talk tag, using Early Espresso Classic Ink, stamp the holly image from the retired set, Ageless Adornments and watercolor using the AquaPainter™ with Always Artichoke and Cajun Craze Classic Ink.

Use the Stampin’ Write So Saffron marker to fill in the background behind the leaves and add the drop shadow with the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker.

Use the Chalk Marker to add a few highlights and overlay the So Saffon background using Gold Smooch™ Pearlized Accent Ink.

Layer the Cajun Craze cardstock tag behind the focal image, add the sentiment banner along with the Cajun Craze Candy Dot.

Create the paper bow from Cajun Craze Designer Series Paper (DSP) using the XL Oval Punch.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Pretty Print Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Use the Scoring Tool to emboss the edges and mount onto Always Artichoke cardstock.

Mount this layer onto the Cajun Craze card base, add the focal image and Paper Bow using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Ageless Adornments, Contempo Christmas (both retired)

Ink: Early Espresso, Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, Chalk Marker, Stampin’ Write Markers- So Saffron, Sahara Sand, Gold Smooch™ Pearlized Accent Ink

Paper:  Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, Cajun Craze DSP
