Trust God- A Monochromatic Color, Sketch and Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

Hi Friends!

I had a chance to spend some time stamping this morning and decided to create a card using the Pals Paper Arts PPA292 Sketch Challenge along with the Papercraft Crew PCCC186 Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge (Flowers, Feminine and Embossing Folder) and the monochromatic Watercooler WWC59 Color Challenge (although I am too late to link to the challenge).

If you have not had a chance to visit the above galleries yet, I hope you will find the time to do so- wonderful Design Team samples and inspiration from all!

To create this card:

To create the central upper background panel, ink the Timeless Texture stamps using Mint Macaron, Mossy Meadow and Cucumber Crush Classic Ink.

Ink the Watercolor Wash background stamp using Wild Wasabi Classic Ink, brayer the ink over the background stamp and transfer the ink from the brayer to the background panel.

Trim the panel, use the retired Distressing Tool to distress the edges, mount onto a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock, trim and mount onto Mossy Meadow cardstock and distress the edges again using the Distressing Tool.

Mount a piece of Whisper White cardstock (approx.4” x 3”) onto a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock and add a distressed/ embossed piece of retired Wild Wasabi Designer Series Paper (DSP) to the lower part of the Mint Macaron card front (embossed with the Boho Chic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder).

Add a ½ White Lace Paper Doily and a strip of Mint Macaron mounted onto Mossy Meadow cardstock (embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder).

Cut a strip from the Timeless Textures stamped panel (created in the first step) and create the banner using the Hexagon Punch.

Ink the sentiment from Trust God, flowers from Petite Petals and butterflies from Papillon Potpourri using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Use the Elegant Butterfly Punch to punch out the butterflies, fussy-cut the flowers and use the Tags and Labels Framelits™ to cut out the sentiment (also cut a label from Mossy Meadow cardstock).

Cut the Mossy Meadow label in half and mount behind the sentiment.
Watercolor the center of the flowers with Wild Wasabi Classic Ink and apply a Mint Macaron wash to the flower petals and butterflies.

Add the sentiment to the card front, adhere the flowers and butterflies (along with leaves created from the Bird Builder Punch and Cucumber Crush cardstock).

Add Pearls to the center of the butterflies and the upper left and lower right hand corners to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Trust God, Papillon Potpourri, Petite Petals, Timeless Textures, Watercolor Wash

Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black, Cucumber Crush, Mossy Meadow, Mint Macaron, Wild Wasabi

Paper: Whisper White, Cucumber Crush, Mint Macaron, Mossy Meadow

Accessories: Big Shot™, Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Tag and Labels Framelits™, Punches- Hexagon, Bird Builder; AquaPainter™, White Tea Lace Paper Doily, Pearls, Brayer, retired Distressing Tool

Once the background color has dried, place the Memory Box™ (MB) Stencil over the background and use a dampened cloth to remove some of the color.

Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim again and mount onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.

Add the crocheted lace trim and mount the panel onto the Cucumber Crush card base.

Ink the sentiment from the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Boho Love stamp set using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Trim the sentiment, mount onto a piece of Cucumber Crush cardstock and adhere directly to the card front.

Ink the floral image from Flower Shop and the butterfly from Papillon Potpourri (both Stampin’ Up!) with Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp three of the flowers and two butterflies  onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Use the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker to add color to the butterflies and flowers, fussy cut the flowers and use the Elegant Butterfly Punch to punch out the butterflies.

A Floral Birthday- A Color, Sketch and Designer's Choice Challenge :-)

Hi Friends!

Again, I hope you will take the time (if you have not done so already) to visit the above challenge sites to check out all of the Design Team entries as well as the galleries- tremendous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the retired background stamp, En Francais using Calypso Coral Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Watermelon Wonder card stock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the retired Finishing Touches Edgelit™ to cut out the strip from Whisper White cardstock, add to the bottom of the panel along with a scrap strip of Calypso Coral cardstock.

Emboss a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and use a sewing machine to add the embossed panel to a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock.  Trim and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Ink the honeycomb background from Butterfly Basics with Blushing Bride  Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock, trim and stitch to a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock for the horizontal strip in the sketch.

Add this panel to the stamped panel created in the first step and mount to the card front.

Ink the floral image from Butterfly Basics using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Color the image using Stampin’ Write Markers- Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral and Watermelon Wonder (using an AquaPainter™ behind layers to soften the edges).  Add a few white highlights to the flower center with the White Gel Pen.

Create a loose mask from scrap paper to cover the flower and stamp the honeycomb image using Blushing Bride Classic Ink.  Add the canceled stamp image using Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink and a few shadows to all of the images with the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker.

Trim the panel and mount onto Blushing Bride cardstock, trim again and mount onto Calypso Coral cardstock.

Mount the panel onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Ink the butterfly using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, color with the Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Markers and punch out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch.

Add the butterfly to the card front (I used Hot Glue for this step and part of a dimensional behind the butterfly).

Ink the sentiment with Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, punch out with the Word Window Punch and add a layer of Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral cardstock (also punched with the Word Window Punch and all three punched on the end with the Hexagon Punch to create the banner points).

Six Sided Sampler- CAS Hello Sweet Friend

Hi Stampers!!

This Clean and Simple (CAS) card was created using the FabFri71 Color Challenge (yes, this is the second card I created using these colors) along with the Addicted to Stamps #159 CAS Challenge and the F4A287 “Odd Time of Year”Splitcoaststampers’ Challenge (option #2 has an odd # of stamps being used :-)).

While I had the Fab Friday colors out, I decided to create one more card – this time using the CAS style versus Vintage :-)

Again, if you have not already done so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above sites to check out their wonderful Design Team samples as well as their galleries!

To create this card:

Option #1- Stamp the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink.  Trim the panel and mount onto Blackberry Bliss cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Tip Top Taupe card base.

Ink the stamp images from Six Sided Sampler using the challenge colors- Blackberry Bliss, Delightful Dijon, Old Olive, Tangelo Twist and Tip Top Taupe.

Punch out the hexagon shapes using the Hexagon Punch and arrange onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Option #2- Using Delightful Dijon Classic Ink stamp the butterfly onto Whisper White cardstock, punch out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and adhere to the card front along with the Rhinestones to finish off the card.

So which one do you prefer- with or without the butterfly?

Stamp Sets: Six Sided Sampler, Papillon Potpourri

Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Delightful Dijon, Old Olive, Tangelo Twist and Tip Top Taupe

Paper: Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss, Tip Top Taupe

Accessories: Hexagon Punch; Elegant Butterfly Punch and Rhinestones- option #2

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- I hope all of you have a fantastic day!

SUO128 Butterflies- A Process of Change :-)

Hi Stampers!

It’s time for the new SUO128 “Butterflies” Challenge!  Another difficult decision  since we have so many fun butterfly stamps, punches and dies!  I decided to use one of my all-time favorites, Papillon Potpourri with the matching Elegant Butterfly Punch  (please check out all of my fantastic Design  Team members samples here) :-)

I also incorporated the Splitcoaststampers’ CC541 Color Challenge (see the details here and gallery here- did not partake in the “dessert” option of ribbon :-) ).

This card looks very different than my original intention but this is how I created and then "salvaged" it:

Ink the floral image from You’ve Got This using c and stamp the blossom with only part of the stem onto Whisper White cardstock (re-ink  and stamp another blossom onto a
scrap piece of paper or sticky note).

Carefully cut out the image that you stamped onto the sticky note or scrap paper and cover the blossom on the Whisper White cardstock, re-ink the stamp image and stamp again.

Continue this process until you have the number of blossoms you desire.

Use an  AquaPainter™ with Rose Red Classic Ink to color the blossoms, then add additional color with the Rose Red Stampin’ Write marker (building up layers of color and softening the edges with the AquaPainter™).  Not part of the color challenge but I did add a bit of Delightful Dijon to the flower centers :-)

Stamp the sentiment from Trust God using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and mask a flower at a time as you apply Mint Macaron and  Tip Top Taupe Classic Ink to the background with Sponge Daubers.

Ink the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Tip Top Taupe and stamp around the background (if you have not figured this out yet, this is my favorite go-to stamp for splatter).

At this point, I was not pleased with the entire background so I decided to cut the flowers around the edges and trim off some of the background at the top.

Mount the trimmed background panel onto a piece of Whisper White k, trim again and mount onto a piece of Mint Macaron, trim once more and mount onto a piece of Tip Top Taupe, trim one last time and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Stamp the butterflies onto Whisper White cardstock using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink  and sponge a bit of Tip Top Taupe over the images (originally I had colored the butterflies with Rose Red and Mint Macaron , but they totally disappeared into the background so I saved those for a different day and started over with the white butterflies :-)

Punch out the butterflies with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and add to the card front.

Once I added the butterflies, I decided that the sentiment needed to be layered, so I pulled off the one butterfly, re-stamped the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, punched out with the Note Tag Punch, layered onto Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe (also punched with the Note Tag Punch and trimmed off the edges), then re-mounted the sentiment onto the cardstock and re-mounted the butterfly....

Whew! What a process!

Add the Pearls to the butterflies and corners along with White Gel Pen accents to the flower centers to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets:  You’ve Got This, Papillon Potpourri, Trust God, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black, Rose Red, Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe; Stampin’ Write Markers- Rose Red, Delightful Dijon, Sahara Sand; White Gel Pen
Paper/Cardstock: Whisper White, Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe
Accessories: AquaPainter™,  Sponge Daubers, Punches- Elegant Butterfly, Note; Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by – I hope to see your Stampin’ Up! Only project in our “Butterflies” Challenge gallery!

TCC37 Mixed Media Butterfly Dreams :-)

Hi Stampers!!

I just love all of the ombre butterflies in this photo and used that as my inspiration for the background on my Mixed Media card :-)

I combined our Card Concept challenge with the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge MMMC#13 "A Year of Choices" and chose  MMMC#7 Tic-Tac-Toe (Die Cuts or Punch, Stamps and Ribbon) for my card.

The Card Concept is a bi-weekly challenge that has an inspiration photo along with a number of design styles that you can choose from to create your card- Clean and Simple, Clean and Graphic, Clean and Layered, Shabby Chic, Freestyle Collage, Classy and Elegant and Mixed Media.

Hope you can find some time to gather your supplies together and come join in on the fun!!

To create this card:

Apply Gesso® to a piece of Whisper White cardstock and set aside to dry.

Once dried, apply Faber-Castell® Gelatos™ to the paper, spritz with water a bit, rub with your fingers and repeat until the desired color is achieved.

Once dried- de-static the paper with an Embossing Buddy® ,  stamp the Off The Grid stamp using Versamark™ Ink, apply Stampin’  Emboss White Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.

Trim the background panel, adhere to a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim again and mount onto a piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock.

Ink the floral stems from World of Dreams using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp twice onto a piece of acrylic (I used an upcycled clear mount stamp cover sheet that I had trimmed to the size of the Gesso® background panel).   There is a bit of a "blur"  on the images stamped on the acrylic in the photo...since they are raised from the background, it was a bit difficult to photograph and not get too much sheen :-)

Ink the sentiment from Choose Happiness with Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp near the bottom of the acrylic sheet.

Use a bit of glue to mount the acrylic panel to the background – I put the adhesive in the area where the ribbon would be mounted :-)

Slide the retired Stylish Silver Hodgepodge Hardware Ribbon Slide onto a piece of 1” Black Satin Ribbon and mount onto the card front (wrapping the ends behind the panel).

Mount the entire panel onto the Whisper White card base
Stamp the butterflies onto Whisper White cardstock using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and use an AquaPainter™ with Pink Pirouette and Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink to watercolor the butterflies.

Punch the butterflies out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and use a foam brush to apply Mod Podge® over the wings.

Allow to dry and mount the butterflies to the card front using Hot Glue.

Add the Pearls to the butterfly centers to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  World of Dreams, Choose Happiness, Papillon Potpourri, Off the Grid

Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black, Versamark™; Stampin’ Up! Classic Ink- Pink Pirouette, Elegant Eggplant

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise

Accessories: Gesso®, Faber-Castell® Gelatos™, Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’  Emboss® White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, acrylic packaging, retired Stylish Silver Hodgepodge Hardware, 1” Black Satin Ribbon , Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you have a wonderful week and come play along!

CAS Hello, Sweet Friend

Hi Again Stampers!!

I wanted to create a few Clean and Simple cards this past weekend and this one was created using the Around the World AW41 Color Challenge along with the CAS Colours and Sketches #124 Sketch Challenge and the Splitcoaststampers’ CAS315 “Ribbon” Challenge (see details here and gallery here).

This is the final challenge for the Around the World site- so sad to see this challenge site end...fantastic Design Team, inspiration photos, sketches and color challenges :-)

Again, if you have not already done so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above sites to check out the wonderful Design Team samples as well as their fantastic galleries!

To create this card:

Stamp the Corner Garden image using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and color the image using an AquaPainter™ with Classic Ink from Crisp Cantaloupe, Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey pads.

Allow the image to dry and add additional color using the Stampin’ Write Markers of the same colors.

Once the image has been colored, spritz with a water bottle and allow the panel to dry.

On a Whisper White cardstock panel, use the 1 ¼” Square Punch to punch the “windows” per the sketch.

Stamp the sentiment using Lost Lagoon  Classic Ink between the punched areas.

Punch out pieces of the Corner Garden image using the 1 ⅜” Square Punch and adhere the colored panels behind the “windows”.

Add the ⅜” Hello Honey Stitched Satin Ribbon bow to the bottom of the panel and mount onto a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock.

Stamp the butterflies using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and color using the Hello Honey Stampin’ Write marker, punch out using the Elegant Butterfly Punch and mount onto the card front.

Adhere the card front onto the Lost Lagoon card base to finish off the card.

Quick, simple and the card is finished!

Hello, Sweet Friend- CAS Embossed Card for Two Challenges :-)

Hi Again Stampers!

While I had the heat embossing tools on my desk, I decided to create one more card using the CCMC334 Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Color Challenge along with another card for the Splitcoaststampers’ Way To Use It WT530 Flutter By, Butterflies (see details here and gallery here).

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites yet, again, I would encourage you to do so- great inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Using the Embossing Buddy® to de-static a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Ink the scroll image from Everything Eleanor using Versamark™ ink and stamp onto the prepared cardstock.

Apply Stampin’ Emboss® Gold Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.

Trim the panel and  mount onto a piece of Tangelo Twist cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Bermuda Bay card base.

Ink the label image from Everything Eleanor with Bermuda Bay Classic Ink, stamp off onto scrap paper and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

“Fussy-cut” the label, lightly sand with the sanding block and mount it to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, stamp the butterflies onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the butterflies using an AquaPainter™ with Tangelo Twist Classic Ink, add  additional detail with the Tangelo Twist Stampin’ Write Marker and a few highlights with the White Gel Pen.

Use the Elegant Butterfly Punch to punch out the butterflies and mount onto the card front using Mini Glue Dots™.

Stamp the sentiment with Tangelo Twist Classic Ink  onto Whisper White cardstock.   FYI- Originally I had stamped the sentiment with Bermuda Bay directly onto the label and then stamped with Tangelo Twist using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig,  but it did not turn out the way I had hoped-  lol! Now you know... :-)

Trim the sentiment layer and add the banner points with the Hexagon Punch, adhere to the label and add the Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Everything Eleanor, Papillon Potpourri, Six-Sided Sampler

Ink: Versamark™,  Bermuda Bay, Tangelo Twist; Tangelo Twist Stampin’ Write Marker, White Gel Pen

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Tangelo Twist
