When My Mind Wanders- A Fun Sketch, Color and Anything Goes Challenge!!

Hi Stampers!

I had a very interesting few days and despite all of the “excitement” (long story including a trip to the ER but everything is OK now :-)), I was able to find time last night and this afternoon to create a few cards.

This card was created using the AW20 Color Challenge along with the FMS144 Sketch and the SR236 Anything Goes Challenge

If you have not linked up to the challenge sites yet, I urge you to do so- great samples by all!

To create this card:

Stamp the Bloom for You  onto Whisper White cardstock three separate times using Calypso Coral, Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink  (don’t forget to clean the stamp before inking with a new color :-)).

Punch each of the flowers out first using the ½” Circle Punch (for the center) followed by the 7/8”Scallop Punch and the final punch using the Fun Flower Punch.

Assemble one of the flowers using the Calypso Coral Fun Flower piece, the Blackberry Bliss scallop and Hello Honey center and assemble one center only using the Calypso Coral scallop and Blackberry Bliss center.

Cut a panel from the Park Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP) and mount onto a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock.   Punch the leaves from Hello Honey cardstock using the Bird Builder Punch and add to the panel along with the Calypso Fun Flower.

Stamp the sentiment using Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and emboss above the sentiment using the Big Shot™ along with the Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder. Trim and mount onto a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock, trim again and adhere to the Calypso Coral card base.

Cut two of the same size banners using the Big Shot™ and the Banner Collection Framelits™ - cut one from a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock and the other from a piece of Hello Honey Lullaby DSP.

Before layering the banners, use the Pansy Punch to punch out a flower from the Blackberry Bliss banner (you will not see this cut) and then cut the Blackberry Bliss banner in half horizontally.  Layer the Hello Honey Lullaby DSP banner onto the Blackberry Bliss banner with the banner points showing at the bottom as well as a bit of the Blackberry Bliss showing at the top.

Punch out the leaves using the Bird Builder Punch from Calypso Coral cardstock, adhere the leaves and the Pansy flower to the Hello Honey banner, add the Calypso Coral/Blackberry Bliss center created in the steps above and add a strip of Blackberry Bliss cardstock to the top of the banner.

Mount the Blackberry Bliss panel to the card front (per the sketch) and add the Hello Honey banner using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the Pearls to the flower centers and across the top of the banner to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Bloom for You, Bloom with Hope

Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Hello Honey

Paper: Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral ; Designer Series Paper- Lullaby and Park Lane

Accessories: Big Shot™, Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder,  Banner Collection Framelits™, Punches- Fun Flower, 7/8” Scallop Circle, ½” Circle, Bird Builder, Pearls

Hope this post makes sense (my new medications are settling in :-) ) so I will post the other cards later today ... Blessings to all of you and thanks again for stopping by!

Way To Go- CAS for Three Challenges!

Hi Stampers!!

I decided to create another Clean and Simple (CAS) card using the CASology Theme-Flower along with the CCMC304 Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge and a fairly loose interpretation of the CTS77 CAS(E) This Sketch! Challenge

This card is CAS to me (compared to my normal style) but may have a few too many elements to qualify for the CAS Challenges- even so, I had fun making it!!

If you have not had time to visit any of the above sites, I hope that you will do so- truly great inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Sporadically ink the Chevron background using Basic Gray Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Sahara Sand and Whisper White cardstock.  Trim both panels and mount the Sahara Sand background onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock and add to the Whisper White card base.

Stamp the sentiment from Bravo using Basic Gray onto the Whisper White background panel, trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock.  Adhere to the Sahara Sand background (I darkened the sentiment using a Basic Gray Stampin’ Write marker and added a few shadows using the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker).

Stamp the flowers from Flower Shop using Basic Gray Classic Ink onto Soft Sky cardstock and punch out using the Pansy Punch.  Use the Soft Sky Stampin’ Write marker to darken the petals and add the Kraft corduroy button brads to the center (buttons retired years ago and seemed to match the Sahara Sand better than our current Crumb Cake).

Punch the leaves out using the Bird Builder Punch from Basic Gray cardstock and add the leaves and flowers to the front of the card.

Sporadically add a few Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Flower Shop, Chevron, Bravo

Ink: Basic Gray, Stampin’ Write markers- Sahara Sand, Soft Sky and Basic Gray
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray, Sahara Sand, Soft Sky

Accessories: Punches- Pansy and Bird Builder; Rhinestones, retired Kraft corduroy button brads

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by-  I hope you have a wonderful weekend

A Spring Color Combination- Feel Better Soon

Hi again Stampers!
Here is the second card that I created for this week’s SUO#90 Punch Parade Challenge using this week’s DD89 Subtly Yours Dynamic Duos colors.  I decided to incorporate some of my favorite elements along with the punches- embossing folders, watercolor, background stamps and ribbon.
Again, if you have not had the time to stop by the SU-Only Challenges or Dynamic Duos sites yet, we would love to have you visit and take part in our challenges.
To create this card:
Use the Big Shot™ along with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Pistachio Pudding cardstock (ink the interior of the embossing folder first with Pistachio Pudding Classic Ink). Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.
Using the AquaPainter™ with ink from the Pistachio Pudding Classic Ink pad, apply the ink in a random pattern on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  While it is still damp, lightly stamp the En Francais background stamp using Basic Black Classic Ink (putting uneven pressure to achieve a variegated look).
Cut the background along with another frame from Basic Black cardstock using the Big Shot™ with the Window Frames Collection Framelits™.  Cut the Basic Black frame in half horizontally and layer behind the background piece allowing a bit to show at the top and bottom.   Trim off the lower portion of the window frame panel and adhere the top portion of the window frame to the embossed honeycomb layer.
Cut a Tea Lace Paper Doily in half and adhere below the window frame.  Add the other portion of the window frame, along with the sentiment from Express Yourself (punched out with the XL Oval Punch and layered onto another piece punched with the same punch).
Add the 5/8” Basic Black double ribbon bow and adhere the tails of the bow behind the panel.  Mount the entire panel onto a Whisper White card base.
Stamp the flowers from Flower Shoppe using Basic Black Classic Ink and punch out with the Pansy Punch (or by hand).  Color the flowers using the AquaPainter™ and Blushing Bride Classic Ink- add a few additional shadows with the Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write marker and use the Chalk Marker to add highlights to the flower centers.
Stamp the butterflies using Basic Black Classic Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, add a bit of Blushing Bride Classic Ink using the AquaPainter™ and count out using the Elegant Butterfly Punch.
Adhere the flowers, butterflies and Vintage Brad using Mini Glue Dots or I used a Hot Glue Gun (since I had mine ready to go from a previous project).  Add the Pearls to the center of the butterflies and along the sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Flower Shop, Papillon Potpourri, En Francais, Express Yourself

Ink: Basic Black, Blushing Bride, Pistachio Pudding; Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker;  Chalk Marker

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Pistachio Pudding

Accessories: Big Shot™, Honeycomb Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Window Frames Collection Framelits™, Punches- Elegant Butterfly, Pansy, XL Oval; Tea Lace Paper Doily, Antique Brad, Pearls, AquaPainter™, retired 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon

Thanks again for stopping by!  Hope all of you have a safe and warm Thursday!!

DD87 True Friends

Hi Stampers!

This week’s DD87 “Black Tie” Dynamic Duo Challenge combines BasicBlack with Melon Mambo and  I incorporated the Splitcoaststampers SC471 Sketch Challenge along with this week's colors.  These colors remind me of several friends who just love pink and so I created this card  with them in mind :-)  I also incorporated the Splitcoaststampers SC471 Sketch Challenge along with this week's colors

Again, I hope that you will find the time to stop by and check out the rest of the Dynamic Duos Design Team projects and create a project of your own using this week’s colors - we would love to have you join us!!

To create this quick, easy “hybrid” card:

Using My Digital Studio (MDS), open a new blank 8.5x11 document and insert the stamp brush set from Friendly Words.  Re-size a bit and print out onto Whisper White cardstock.  Use the Big Shot™ with the Oval Collection Framelits™ to cut out the sentiment and cut out another oval using Basic Black cardstock.  Split the Basic Black oval in half to adhere behind the sentiment layer.

Using Melon Mambo Classic Ink, stamp the flower from Flower Shop onto Whisper White cardstock.  Cut out by hand and using the Sanding Block, lightly sand the edges.  Use the Pansy Punch to punch out a piece of Basic Black cardstock and mount the stamped flower onto the Basic Black punched flower using Mini Glue Dots.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Pretty Prints Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss the top half of a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim to approx. 3 3 ¾” x 5” and set aside.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock (emboss twice) and cut apart leaving a portion of the Whisper White to adhere to the next layer.

Adhere the Needlepoint embossed border to a piece of Basic Black cardstock (I use just a scrap strip at the top).  Adhere a piece of Melon Mambo Designer Series Paper (DSP) to two strips of Basic Black cardstock at the top and bottom (or an entire panel of Basic Black cardstock- I have so many scraps that I try to use them first).  Add the second Needlepoint embossed layer to complete the background panel.

Adhere the Melon Mambo DSP/embossed panel to the Pretty Print embossed panel and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim to approx. 1/8” around the edges and mount onto a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock and again onto the Whisper White card base.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Square Framelits™ to cut out a piece of Whisper White cardstock and a larger square of Basic Black cardstock.   Add a few Basic Black leaves (created with the Bird Builder Punch) using Mini Glue Dots to the Whisper White square.  Add the stamped flower punched piece and adhere to the square as well with Mini Glue Dots.

Add the sentiment oval layer onto the card and the floral square using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Create the little polka dot banner using the new Banner Punch (I used a retired SU! background paper) and adhere the little heart along with the Pearl.  Add to the upper corner of the card.

Adhere the entire panel to the Whisper White card base and add the Pearls to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets: Flower Shop, Friendly Words (MDS version)
Ink: Melon Mambo, Printer Ink- Black
Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Melon Mambo Designer Series Paper (DSP), retired background paper
Accessories: Big Shot™, Square and Oval Collections Framelits™, Needlepoint and Pretty Print Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, Punches- Bird Builder, Pansy, Banner, Pearls

Thanks again for visiting- I hope you will find the time to join us at the Dynamic Duos this week!

Flowers for a True Friend- Two Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Monday!!  I have been studying the fresh CQC213 palette from the ColourQ Challenge all week and finally decided to create a quick CAS card using the CQC213 Challenge along with the FMS110 Freshly Made Sketch ( I flipped the sketch upside down and missed the challenge deadline- oops!!  :-)).

If you have not had a chance to visit either site yet, wonderful Design Team samples as well as the other entries- enough inspiration for weeks!! :-)

To create this simple CAS card:

With the Kiwi Kiss Brad (see below for Basic Gray version)
Use the Pansy Punch to punch out flowers from Peach Parfait and Lovely Lilac Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Punch out the leaves using the Bird Builder Punch from Kiwi Kiss cardstock.

Punch out four squares from Basic Gray cardstock using the 1 ¼” Square Punch.

Use a Piercing Tool and Piercing Mat (or Hand Held 1/16” Punch) to punch out holes in the flowers to insert the Basic Gray corduroy button brads.

Adhere the flowers and leaves to the Basic Gray squares using Mini Glue Dots and attach to the Whisper White card base (I used a 4.25 x 4.25 Square card base).

Attach the sentiment banner (this one was already in my pre-printed “stash” from My Digital Studio (MDS) – retired stamp brush set, Simple Friendship) along with the leaves and the Kiwi Kiss corduroy button brad to finish off the card.

****REVISION****

The Kiwi Kiss cordoruy button brad seemed a bit brighter than the cardstock (I think I may have pulled out Lucky Limeade versus Kiwi Kiss for the leaves...that's what happens when you do not mark the envelopes:-)) so I replaced the brad next to the sentiment with Basic Gray.   I think I like the Basic Gray version better :-)

 Stamp Sets:  Simple Friendship (MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black

Paper: Whisper White, retired Kiwi Kiss, retired DSP- Lovely Lilac, Peach Parfait

Accessories: Punches- Pansy, 1 ¼” Square, Bird Builder, retired Basic Gray and Kiwi Kiss corduroy button brads

Thanks again for stopping by!   I will be posting my card for the new SUO Challenge early Tuesday morning so I hope you can visit again soon- have a great week!

Above & Beyond- A Color and Sketch Challenge :-)

Hi Again Stampers!!
Here is the second card that I created using the CQC211 ColourQ Challenge Colors along with the PPA176 Sketch at Pals Paper Arts (although I am too late to link up to the PPA sketch- I still wanted to share :-))

Again, I hope you will take the time to visit each site – amazing inspiration from all of the Design Team projects as well as the other entrants!

This card was quick and easy for me since I used quite a few scraps that were already pre-punched (remember, I punch out all of my layers that you do not see and use them for other cards :-))...comes in handy when I need a quick card :-)

To create this card:

Using the Big Shot™ emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and adhere the Basic Black diagonal piece of cardstock per the sketch.

Stamp the sentiment from One in a Million using White Craft Ink and adhere the panel to a background piece of Whisper White and again onto the Basic Blaxk card base.

Add the Basic Black cardstock strip along with the piece of Whisper White (all from my scraps) and trim to size.

Create the flowers- use the Pansy Punch and Strawberry Slush cardstock,  the 5 Petal Punch for the leaves from Lucky Limeade cardstock and the 7/8” Scallop Circle Punch from Whisper White cardstock for flower centers.  Add the retired Pumpkin Pie corduroy button brad to the flower centers and adhere the flowers to the diagonal panel.

Create the paper bow with the XL Oval Punch and a few scrap pieces of Strawberry Sluch cardstock- add the retired Pumpkin Pie corduroy button brad.  Adhere to the strip at the bottom to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  One in A Million

Ink: White Craft Ink

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Strawberry Slush, Lucky Limeade (retired)

Accessories: Big Shot™,  Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder,  Punches- Pansy, 7/8” Scallop Circle, 5 Petal , XL Oval; retired Pumpkin Pie corduroy button brads

Thanks again for visiting- have a great evening!

Hi Stampers!!

I wanted to create a quick, easy Clean and Simple Card (CAS) using the Dynamic Duos DD#64 Colors (check out their Design Team and all of the other terrific cards in their gallery).

To create this CAS card:

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, layer the Strawberry Slush and Daffodil Delight Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Add the Strawberry Slush cardstock layer to cover the seam as well as a scrap piece of the Daffodil Delight DSP.  Adhere to the Strawberry Slush layer onto the Whisper White cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Chalk Talk Framelits™ to cut out the large tag from a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Ink the Off The Grid stamp using Strawberry Slush Classic Ink and stamp onto the tag, add to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Punch out the flower from Strawberry Slush cardstock using the Pansy Punch and add the circle from the DSP (3/4” Circle Punch).

Add the flower, butterflies, ½” Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon bow and Rhinestones.

Stamp the sentiment from Simply Sketched (hostess set) using Strawberry Slush Classic Ink to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Off The Grid, Simply Sketched (hostess)

Ink: Strawberry Slush

Paper: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, Quatrefancy Specialty DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™, Chalk Talk  Framelits™,  Punches-  ¾” Circle,  Pansy,  Elegant Butterfly, ½” Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon, Rhinestones
