PP205- Another CAS Thinking of You

Hi Again Stampers!!

I think I am starting to feel more comfortable with Clean and Simple (CAS) cards :-)   I do like the fact that I can create them within a few minutes (versus sometimes hours for my vintage/shabby chic cards although I still like to "de-stress"-lol!! :-) )

Here is another very quick card that I created using the PP205 Clean and SimpleMonochromatic Challenge.   It seems that the CAS challenges are plentiful right now- perfect for our busy summer lives :-)

If you have not visited the Paper Players site yet- check out the fabulous Design Team and Guest Designers (plus the great gallery of entries)- wonderful ideas from all!

 To create this CAS  card:

Ink the medallion using Island Indigo Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  Lightly sponge Coastal Cabana Classic Ink within the center using a Sponge Dauber.

Ink the floral stamp using Island Indigo Classic Ink and mask a bit of the medallion to stamp the flower within the center, “huff” on the stamp to re-moisten the ink and mask again at the top corner and stamp the image once more.

Stamp the sentiment at the lower corner using Island Indigo Classic Ink and trim the panel to 3 ¾” x 5”.

Using the retired Color Spritzer Tool with the Island Indigo Stampin’ Write marker, add a bit of spritzing to the card front.

Mount the panel onto a piece of Island Indigo cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock, trim and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Stamp the butterflies using Island Indigo Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and punch out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch.

Adhere the butterflies to the card front (I have been using Hot Glue to adhere embellishments and butterflies lately- had not used my Hot Glue Gun for years and thought, why not???).

Add two Pearls near the sentiment to finish off the card.   Quick and easy!!

Stamp Sets: Papillon Potpourri, Daydream Medallion, Stippled Blossoms, Kind and Caring Thoughts (retired Hostess Set)

Ink: Coastal Cabana, Island Indigo, Stampin’ Write Island Indigo marker

Paper: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Island Indigo

Accessories: Sponge Dauber, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Pearls, retired Color Spritzer Tool

Thanks again for stopping by- have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

JUN14VSNI Masking Birthday Fun!

Hi Again Stampers!

Again, if you have not visited either of the sites above, I hope you will take the time to do so- great ideas and inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Since the “Tan Lines” Challenge is to use masking, I used two different types of masks.  The initial mask is a square cut from Whisper White cardstock using the Square Collections Framelits™ (the opening was remaining after the image was cut out) and I used sticky notes to mask the flowers as I stamped the images.
Use a Sponge Dauber with Blushing Bride Classic Ink to apply the background ink onto the opening from the square cutout.
Using Stippled Blossoms along with Strawberry Slush Classic Ink, repeatedly stamp a few of the flowers.  Mask the flowers using a sticky note and stamp again (huffing onto the stamp to re-moisten the ink before stamping).  With the flower masks still in place, stamp the leaves using Pistachio Pudding Classic Ink.  Remove the masks and stamp a few of the small flowers using Blushing Bride Classic Ink.
Trim around the panel allowing some of the white to show and mount onto a piece of Pistachio Pudding cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock.

Adhere a piece of Blushing Bride Designer Series Paper (DSP) onto a piece of Pistachio Pudding cardstock, trim and mount onto the Strawberry Slush card base.

Stamp the sentiment from Wetlands using Memento™ Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and punch out using the XL Oval Punch. Mount onto a piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock also punched with the XL Oval Punch.

Adhere the sentiment to the front of the card and mount the main focal panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.  Add the Strawberry Slush cardstock bow along with the Antique Brad.

Stamp the butterflies using Memento™ Tuxedo Black ink onto Blushing Bride cardstock and punch out using the Elegant Butterfly Punch.  Use the Strawberry Slush Stampin’ Write marker to color part of the butterfly and add a few highlights with the Chalk Marker.

Add to the card front along with a few Pearls to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets: Stippled Blossoms, Papillon Potpourri, Wetlands
Ink: Blushing Bride, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink,

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, retired Blushing Bride DSP

Accessories: Sticky Notes for Masks, Punches: Large and XL Oval Punch, Hexagon, Elegant Butterfly, Pearls, Antique Brad

Thanks again for stopping by- I have one more VSN card to share this evening and two more to finish all of the challenges  :-)

Happy Birthday- May Flowers!!

Hi Again Stampers!

I am having so much fun making rolled flowers that I decided to create a spring card for the Seize the Birthday “May Flowers” Challenge using the Just Add Ink JAI214 Sketch along with the CQC240 ColourQ Challenge.

I was inspired by the inspiration photo and decided to pull out Stippled Blossoms to create my own background or Designer Series Paper (DSP) :-)

If you have not had time to do so, I hope you will have a chance to visit all of the challenge sites and check out the wonderful Design Team projects as well as the other entrants- again, inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Create your own Designer Series Paper (DSP) by repeatedly stamping the solid floral image from Stippled Blossoms using Pink Pirouette Classic Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Ink the corresponding floral line image using Strawberry Slush Classic Ink and complete the Two-Step Stamping process, add a few leaves using Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink and retired Sage Shadow Classic Ink.

FYI- You can barely see the stamped embossing folder (Honeycomb) under the flowers so I did not mention this step...will need to add more moisture and color when I try the embossed stamping technique- lol!!
Punch two lattice layers from another piece of Whisper White cardstock using a Lattice Border Punch.
Cut the "homemade" DSP on a diagonal (per the JAI214 sketch) and adhere the stamped images alternating with the punched borders onto a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  Trim and mount onto a piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock and add the ¼” Sage Shadow Grosgrain Ribbon to the edges of the lattice.
Stamp the sentiment from Express Yourself (hostess set) using Strawberry Slush Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and create the banner points using the Hexagon Punch.  Adhere to the lattice strip using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add a few Pearls to the corners .
Add the small “Seed” Pearls to the lattice and to the centers of the stamped flowers.
Create the rolled flowers from Strawberry Slush cardstock (use the 2 ½” , 1 ¾” and 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punches- punch the scallop circles, hand cut a wavy spiral from the outside of the scallop circle toward the center, use the Bone Folder to curl the edges of the petals a bit, roll up from the outside edge and adhere using Tombow Multi-Purpose Adhesive or a Hot Glue Gun).
Add the leaves from retired Sage Shadow cardstock (created with the Bird Builder Punch) to the rolled flowers and adhere to the front of the card using a Hot Glue Gun or Mini Glue Dots.
Mount the entire panel onto the Whisper White card base to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets: Stippled Blossoms , Express Yourself (hostess set),
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz, retired Sage Shadow
Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, retired Sage Shadow
Accessories: Punches: Hexagon, Bird Builder, Scallop Circle- 2 3/8”, 1 ¾”, 1 ¼”;  AquaPainter™, Pearls, retired ¼” Sage Shadow Grosgrain Ribbon, Lattice Border Punch (Martha Stewart)

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a great Monday!!

Praying for You- Two Challenges in One!

Hi Again Stampers!

I wanted to share the final card that I created yesterday using the CCMC300 Create withConnie and Mary Color Challenge along with the Pals Paper Arts PPA201 SketchChallenge.

If you have not already visited their sites, I hope that you would have the time to do so- terrific Design Teams and examples in the gallery!!

To create this card:

Ink the floral stamp from Stippled Blossoms using Basic Gray Classic Ink and stamp repeatedly onto Whisper White cardstock.  Use a Sponge Dauber with Calypso Coral Classic Ink to sponge color onto the flowers and Basic Gray around the edges.  Mount onto Basic Black cardstock and sponge additional Basic Gray Classic Ink around the edges.

Ink the En Francais background stamp using Calypso Coral Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Crumb Cake Designer Series Paper (DSP).
Use the Big Shot™ with the retired Final Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss the piece of DSP and also emboss a piece of Basic Gray cardstock.

Lightly sand the embossed DSP to expose the white core, use a Sponge Dauber to apply Calypso Coral Classic Ink and Basic Gray to highlight the embossed images and mount both pieces onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock.    Sponge additional Basic Gray Classic Ink around the edges and center, mount again onto Calypso Coral cardstock and adhere to the Basic Gray card base (applying additional Basic Gray Classic Ink to all edges).

Sponge additional Basic Gray Classic ink onto the embossed Basic Gray layer and add to the card front per the sketch.

Add the layers at the top and bottom of the panel (created from the Decorative Label punch cut into half) and sponge additional Basic Gray Classic Ink to darken.

Using a sentiment printed from My Digital Studio (MDS), sponge Calypso Coral Classic Ink and Basic Gray Classic Ink and punch out using the Large Oval Punch. Punch two additional ovals using the Large Oval Punch from Basic Gray cardstock, layer to create a frame for the sentiment and add to the focal image panel.  Mount the focal panel onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Stamp three of the butterflies from Papillon Potpourri onto Whisper White cardstock and punch out the images using the Elegant Butterfly Punch.  Sponge Calypso Coral Classic Ink onto the butterflies and add to the card front.

Add Pearls to the centers of the butterflies as well as the sentiment to finish off the card.

Birthday Wishes- Fall Florals for Three Challenges :-)

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to take to take a break from creating Christmas cards and share this card created using the colors from this week’s DD74 Dynamic Duos Challenge along with the AtlanticHearts Sketch Challenge #25 and the monthly theme at the Stampin' Celebration SCIC71 Inspiration Challenge.

If you have not had the chance to visit any of these sites yet, I hope you will take the time to do so – again, great inspiration!

To create this card:

Using So Saffron Classic Ink, ink up your brayer roller and roll the ink a bit sporadically onto a piece of Vary Vanilla cardstock.

Stamp the larger flower (dotted line) image from Stippled Blossoms using Calypso Coral Classic Ink, stamping off for some of the images to create your own Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Trim this panel to 4” x 5 ¼”.

Add the Crochet Lace and Satin Ribbon (both from my stash) per the sketch.  Adhere the entire panel to the Calypso Coral card base.

Create the rolled flowers using Scallop Circle Punches (2 3/8”, 1 ¾” and 1 ¼”) from So Saffron and Calypso Coral cardstock.  Spiral cut from the outside using a wavy pattern toward the middle, roll up starting from the outside toward the center and use Mono Multi Adhesive to adhere the layers together.

Punch out a few leaves using the Bird Builder Punch from Pistachio Pudding cardstock and punch out the sentiment using the XL Oval Punch (this sentiment is from the retired set, Watercolor Trio and was printed from My Digital Studio onto Very Vanilla cardstock).

Also punch out two additional XL Ovals from Calypso Coral cardstock for the frame behind the sentiment, attach the two Calypso Coral ovals together (spread apart a bit) to create a frame for the sentiment and adhere the sentiment to the center.

Mount the sentiment onto the background layer (per the sketch) and add the rolled flowers and leaves.  Add a few Pearls to the sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Stippled Blossoms, Watercolor Trio (MDS)

Ink: Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Printer Ink- Black

Ladies Card Ministry- Card #2- Butterfly Birthday

Hi Again Stampers!

Here is the second card of three that we created at our recent Ladies Ministry Card Making class- if interested, more details on the event and the first card are located here :-)

To create The Butterfly Masking Technique card:

Stamp the outline flower from Stippled Blossoms onto a piece of sticky note paper and cut around the outside petals (remember to leave some of the sticky strip).

Ink the outline floral stamp using Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink and stamp onto the corner of a piece of Whisper White cardstock, re-ink the stamp and stamp again into the opposite corner.  Cover the stamped images with the mask and re-stamp the other flowers without re-inking the stamps to fill in the white spaces.

Use a Sponge Dauber with Melon Mambo Classic Ink to softly color the flowers and sponge Elegant Eggplant over the edges.  Mount onto a piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock,

Use the Big Shot™ along with the Lacy Brocade (retired) Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Adhere to a piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock and add to the Whisper White card base.

Stamp the butterflies using Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and punch out using the Elegant Butterfly Punch.

Stamp the sentiment using Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the Large Oval Punch.  We actually used the Thank You for Your Kindness stamp in the class since the Dress card used the Happy Big Day sentiment :-)

If you create as shown, mount onto two ovals punched from the same punch and overlap to allow the edges to show.  If you use the Thank You for Your Kindness stamp, the Decorative Label Punch will create the

Lightly sponge the edges with Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink and adhere to the bottom right hand side of the focal panel .

Mount the focal panel to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and adhere the butterflies using Mini Glue Dots.  Add the Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Stippled Blossoms, Papillon Potpourri, Wetlands
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo
Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant
Accessories: Big Shot™,  Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (retired), Punches- Elegant Butterfly, Large Oval, Sponge Daubers, Pearls, Ribbon (from my stash)

Thanks again for visiting- I will post the final card shortly :-)

Another CAS Vintage Card for Two Challenges :-)

 Hi Stampers!!

Happy Monday!!  Mondays are a stressful day for me in the office so I wanted to relax and unwind this evening in my “sanity” (I mean craft room:-)).

I originally had a sepia tone card in mind for the DD37 Dynamic Duos neutral color challenge this week and opted originally for a CAS Vintage card (see my last post) so while I still had all of the supplies out, I decided to create another card with these colors and use the Splitcoaststampers' CAS204 sketch.   Not sure if this card would qualify for as Clean and Simple (CAS) to some artists but to me it is:-)

This card really is quite simple:

On Very Vanilla cardstock, stamp the flowers using Soft Suede Classic Ink (stamping some of the flowers off to lighten the ink).  Using a Sponge Dauber with Crumb Cake Classic Ink and Soft Suede, sponge the edges and center of the card (Crumb Cake in the center and Soft Suede along the edges) to create a sepia tone.  Add a bit more interest with the Color Spritzer Tool and Soft Suede Stampin’ Write marker.

Stamp the butterflies using Soft Suede Classic Ink onto Crumb Cake and punch out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch.  Using the Sponge Dauber, apply Crumb Cake ink over the butterfly and around the edges of the wings.  Use the Aqua Painter with Frost White Shimmer Paint and apply thinned paint to the butterfly wings and highlight some of the flowers on the main panel.

Mount the floral panel onto Crumb Cake and again onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  Use the Big Shot™ with the Finishing Touches Edgelits™ to cut the edge of a piece of Soft Suede, adhere the layered focal panel and add the ½” Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon bow and Antique Brad.

Add the sentiment to the lower portion of the main panel and mount the entire panel using SU! Dimensionals to an embossed background panel of Very Vanilla.  Add the butterflies with Mini Glue Dots and Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Stippled Blossoms, Papillon Potpourri, Short and Sweet

Ink:  Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Stampin’ Write Marker- Soft Suede

Paper: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Finishing Touches Edgelits™, Fancy Fan Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Medium Oval Punch, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Sponge Daubers, Aqua Painter, Frost White Shimmer Paint, Color Spritzer Tool,  ½” Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon, Antique, Brad, Pearls, SU! Dimensionals

Thanks again for visiting- I hope you have fun and find your "sanity" this week- God Bless!

August 2012 SU! Creative Crew - Friendship

Hi Stampers!

August is here and another month (and with a bit of sadness since my four month term now ends) with the Splitcoaststamper’s  Creative Crew!

Again, we are hoping that you will join us this month by creating a project and uploading it to the Splitcoaststampers SU! CreativeCrew Gallery- believe me, it is a lot of fun!  When you upload, make sure that you use the keywords that are highlighted in bold so we can all see your projects and comment (SUO- Stampin’ Up! Only and SUM= SU! Mostly)-

The theme this month is “Celebrate Friendship”!!  Did you know that August 5th  is International Friendship Day?   As John Lennon said, "I get by with a little help from my friends!"

CCREW0812DF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- DSP/Color Focus: Celebrate the end of summer with a blast of bright colors from Summer Smooches DSP.  Don’t worry if you do not have the new DSP yet- just use any of the colors: Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo, Real Red, Tangerine Tango and Whisper White.

CCREW0812CF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Catalog focus: This month, we're focusing on brads! So many choices: mini, metallic, colored, antique, glimmer or printed!

CCREW0812HF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Holiday focus: Make a “flip-flop” card for your friend (no, it is not in the shape of a flip flop- this is another special fold)! Never made one before (this was my first time)- here is the link to the Splitcoaststampers tutorial.

CCREW0812SF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Scrapbook focus: Create a scrapbook page or project that showcases your special friend using the sketch below.

Here are the projects that I created this month:

I have several for the CCREW0812DF DSP Focus:

Card#1- Friendship is a Great Place
Using Sponge Daubers apply Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango Classic Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock (determine the width that you desire- I masked the paper and used an area a bit higher that the stamp image).  Stamp the images using Rich Razzelberry Classic Ink and trim to size.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Adorning Accents Edgelits™ Dies and cut a piece from Whisper White and the Summer Smooches DSP.  Emboss the edge using the Adorning Accents Folder.

Layer onto Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White and DSP (Tangerine Tango DSP was embossed with the new Fancy Fan Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Finish off with the stamped and punched butterflies, sentiment and Rhinestones.

Stamp Sets:  Best of Everything, Papillon Potpourri

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Fancy Fan and Adorning Accents™ Embossing Folders, Sponge Daubers, Elegant Butterfly and Large Oval Punch, Rhinestones

Card#2- Fabulous Friend

This is a quick easy card- use the reverse side of the piece of DSP that you used in the card above for the bottom curved layer.

Ink the stamp using Stampin’ Write markers in Rich Razzleberry and Lucky Limeade. Mount onto Lucky Limeade and add the satin bow.

Emboss a piece of Rich Razzleberry with the Square Lattice Textured™ (I punched a circle using the 2 ½” Circle Punch before embossing) and emboss a piece of Whisper White with the Fancy Fan EF (I love this folder! :-)).

Layer the pieces and add the sentiment and pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Just Believe, Fabulous Phrases

Paper:  Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade, Summer Smooches DSP

Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Stampin’ Write Markers- Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade

Layer the Summer Smooches DSP onto Real Red cardstock, layer the punched circle focal image – add the ½” Daffodil Delight Seam Binding bow.

Layer onto the embossed Whisper White panel, add the punched butterflies and pearls to finish off the front panel of the card.

CCREW0812HF Holiday focus- “Heaven Knows You’re Special”

I have to admit when I first saw that we were going to create a flip-flop card, I thought it would be one of those cute cards that look like flip-flops but come to find out, there is a special fold that you can create called the “Flip-Flop” card –see the Splitcoaststampers tutorial here.

I used Whisper White as the base and covered it with embossed Island Indigo cardstock (embossed with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder).

Create the central panel using Sponge Daubers with Daffodil Delight Classic Ink and stamp the floral images using Island Indigo Classic Ink.  Layer onto Whisper White and add the embossed Daffodil Delight cardstock panel.  Insert the Designer Framelit™ edge between the front and back panel, add the pearls and the ½” Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon bow with the Antique Brad.
Open to see the front panel

Stamp the sentiment onto a panel created similar to the background paper, add to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Stippled Blossoms, Blessings from Heaven

Paper:  Whisper White, Island Indigo

Ink: Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo

View of the inside panel (back of the flip-flop)

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Fancy Fan  and Square LatticeTextured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, Finishing Touches Edgelits™, Punches- 1 3/8” Circle, Word Window and Modern Label, Pearls, ½” Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon, Antique Brad

Fair Warning- this was a fun card to create but time consuming….next time, I would most likely not cover the Whisper White with the embossed panels (this is what took the most time).

Thanks again for stopping by!  Even though we have not met personally, I feel that we are friends- so give yourself a “hug” from me!  Have a great week and celebrate one of your friends this month- God Bless!

Special Thanks to You~ SUO Challenge

Hi Stampers!

I have been busy with our end of month billing at work but was able to find some time to stamp and de-stress :-))

I wanted to participate in the SUO #49 Special Thanks to You! Challenge at SU-O Challenges (if you have the time, check out their blog-- the Design team has done a fabulous job!!)

I wanted to create this card for my dear friend and assistant at work (I hope she does not check out my blog before I have a chance to give her this card :-))  She is on vacation this week and I miss her already in more ways than one :-)

To create this simple card:

On a piece of Whisper White, use a Sponge Dauber with Daffodil Delight Classic Ink and in a circular motion, apply the ink to the  paper (some areas heavier than others).

Stamp the floral images from Stippled Blossoms with Island Indigo Classic Ink, layer onto Island Indigo cardstock and again onto Whisper White cardstock.

Create the background layer with Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper (DSP), Daffodil Delight cardstock embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (this piece was part of my scrap pile:-)).

Add the embossed border using the new Delicate Designs Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (lace) , stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White Cardstock and cut with the Bitty Banner Framelits™, add the Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon bow and of course, a few pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Stippled Blossoms, Fabulous Phrases

 Ink: Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo

Paper:  Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Summer Smooches DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Bitty Banners Framelits™, Square Lattice and Delicate Designs Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder,  Sponge Dauber, ½” Daffodil Delight Seam Binding, Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by - I hope you like this quick "summery" card - I normally am not that fond of yellow but for some reason it is growing on me  (I do like it with blue and white so possibly there is still hope for me yet :-))

Have a great weekend and take some time for yourself- God Bless!
