August 2012 SU! Creative Crew - Friendship

Hi Stampers! 

August is here and another month (and with a bit of sadness since my four month term now ends) with the Splitcoaststamper’s  Creative Crew! 

Again, we are hoping that you will join us this month by creating a project and uploading it to the Splitcoaststampers SU! CreativeCrew Gallery- believe me, it is a lot of fun!  When you upload, make sure that you use the keywords that are highlighted in bold so we can all see your projects and comment (SUO- Stampin’ Up! The theme this month is “Celebrate Friendship”!!  Did you know that August 5th  is International Friendship Day?   As John Lennon said, "I get by with a little help from my friends!"

CCREW0812DF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- DSP/Color Focus: Celebrate the end of summer with a blast of bright colors from Summer Smooches DSP.  Don’t worry if you do not have the new DSP yet- just use any of the colors: Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo, Real Red, Tangerine Tango and Whisper White.

CCREW0812CF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Catalog focus: This month, we're focusing on brads! So many choices: mini, metallic, colored, antique, glimmer or printed! 

CCREW0812HF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Holiday focus: Make a “flip-flop” card for your friend (no, it is not in the shape of a flip flop- this is another special fold)! Never made one before (this was my first time)- here is the link to the Splitcoaststampers tutorial.

CCREW0812SF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Scrapbook focus: Create a scrapbook page or project that showcases your special friend using the sketch below.

Card#1- Friendship is a Great Place

Using Sponge Daubers apply Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango Classic Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock (determine the width that you desire- I masked the paper and used an area a bit higher that the stamp image).  Stamp the images using Rich Razzelberry Classic Ink and trim to size.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Adorning Accents Edgelits™ Dies and cut a piece from Whisper White and the Summer Smooches DSP.  Emboss the edge using the Adorning Accents Folder.  

Layer onto Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White and DSP (Tangerine Tango DSP was embossed with the new Fancy Fan Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Finish off with the stamped and punched butterflies, sentiment and Rhinestones.

Paper:  Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Summer Smooches DSP

 Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango

Card#2- Fabulous Friend

This is a quick easy card- use the reverse side of the piece of DSP that you used in the card above for the bottom curved layer.

Ink the stamp using Stampin’ Write markers in Rich Razzleberry and Lucky Limeade. Mount onto Lucky Limeade and add the satin bow.

Emboss a piece of Rich Razzleberry with the Square Lattice Textured™ (I punched a circle using the 2 ½” Circle Punch before embossing) and emboss a piece of Whisper White with the Fancy Fan EF (I love this folder! :-)).

Layer the pieces and add the sentiment and pearls to finish off the card.

Paper:  Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade, Summer Smooches DSP

Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Stampin’ Write Markers- Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade

Card #3- “You Are A Blessing” Easel Card

Using Real Red Classic Ink, stamp the floral/butterfly image and sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock.

Layer the Summer Smooches DSP onto Real Red cardstock, layer the punched circle focal image – add the ½” Daffodil Delight Seam Binding bow.

Layer onto the embossed Whisper White panel, add the punched butterflies and pearls to finish off the front panel of the card.

Create the lower panel of the easel card, add the coordinating paper with the punched border and pearls, and the punched flower for the center of the bow.

This card was another quick one since it was created using mostly scraps from the previous projects.

Layer the DSP with the embossed Whisper White panels, add the focal image accent created from the Adorning Accents Framelits™  Die with the brads and bow and you are done!

CCREW0812HF Holiday focus- “Heaven Knows You’re Special”

I have to admit when I first saw that we were going to create a flip-flop card, I thought it would be one of those cute cards that look like flip-flops but come to find out, there is a special fold that you can create called the “Flip-Flop” card –see the Splitcoaststampers tutorial here.  

I used Whisper White as the base and covered it with embossed Island Indigo cardstock (embossed with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder). 

Create the central panel using Sponge Daubers with Daffodil Delight Classic Ink and stamp the floral images using Island Indigo Classic Ink.  Layer onto Whisper White and add the embossed Daffodil Delight cardstock panel.  Insert the Designer Framelit™ edge between the front and back panel, add the pearls and the ½” Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon bow with the Antique Brad. 

Open to see the front panel

Stamp the sentiment onto a panel created similar to the background paper, add to finish off the card.

Fair Warning- this was a fun card to create but time consuming….next time, I would most likely not cover the Whisper White with the embossed panels (this is what took the most time).

Hi Stampers!

Original Card for CQC147 Challenge

I had a few moments this evening to re-create a card that I had previously created for the CQC147 ColourQ Challenge.  I felt that the Kiwi Kiss was a bit overwhelming on the card so I replaced the Kiwi Kiss with Whisper White.  

If interested, I have full detailed instructions for the Re-Make below: 

Use the Big Shot™ emboss two pieces of Whisper White- one with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and the other with the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Cut the edge of the Delicate Designs Lace embossed border with the Large Scallop Edgelits™ Die and cut a  piece of Whisper White and Brilliant Blue (retired DSP) with the Big Shot™ and Adorning Accents Edgelits™ Die.

With Sponge Daubers, apply Regal Rose and Baja Breeze Classic Ink to Whisper White cardstock.  Stamp the floral images using Brilliant Blue Classic Ink and mount onto Brilliant Blue cardstock. 

Layer onto Whisper White cardstock, add the punched butterflies, sentiment and pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Serene Silhouettes, Papillon Potpourri, Petite Pairs

Ink: Baja Breeze, Regal Rose, Brilliant Blue (retired)

Paper: Whisper White and Brilliant Blue DSP (retired)

CQC147 Birthday Wishes

I hope all of you are doing well and had a great week!  I had a few moments this evening to create a card using the CQC147 fun colors from this week’s ColourQ Challenge (if you have the time- stop by the ColourQ to see all of the wonderful Design Team samples and other entries).

To create this card:

Quilt Card- Two Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!

I decided to create a card for this week’s CQC143 ColourQ Challenge (Patriotic Colors with a splash of yellow and gray) and combined it with this week’s HSSIC124 Hand StampedSentiments Quilt Card Challenge.  If you have a chance, stop by to visit both sites to see what the Design Teams and other entries have created- so much inspiration!! 

To create this card:

Stamp the floral butterfly image from Serene Silhouettes using Basic Gray Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  Punch out using the 1 ¾” Circle Punch.

Use the 1 ¼” Square Punch to punch out pieces of Pacific Point, So Saffron and Poppy Parade Designer Series Paper.  Align and adhere onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock in the quilt pattern and cut out the quilt using the Framelits Labels Collection.  Cut another label using the same size Framelit from Whisper White and a larger one using Pacific Point cardstock.

Emboss the large framelit label with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and the quilt pattern with the Finial Press (retired) Embossing Folder.

Assemble the layers, add the pearls and the focal image circle and 5/8” Basic Gray Satin Ribbon bow.

Ink: Basic Gray

Paper: Whisper White, Pacific Point, Designer Series Paper- Pacific Point, So Saffron and Poppy Parade (retired)
