He Is Risen Indeed!! Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Happy Resurrection Sunday!!

We had a lovely service this morning celebrating our Risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!!   I am so thankful that Jesus came to earth as a man, paid the penalty for our sins upon the cross and rose again on the third day!! He is Risen, He is Risen Indeed!!

I wanted to share one more Easter card that I created using the DD99 “Black Tie” Challenge (Basic Black and Rich Razzleberry) and the SplitcoaststampersTLC477 “What’s the Point” Technique Challenge along with a bit of a more stylized cross from the set, Crosses of Hope.

To create this card:

Open a blank document in My Digital Studio (MDS) and position the cross from Crosses of Hope and re-size.  Also position the “Easter” sentiment from Well Scripted and the “Happy” from Fabulous Phrases.  Print onto a 8 ½ x 11” piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Use a Circle Collection Framelit™ as a guide and using the pointillism technique, create the background (I used a Pilot V5 gel pen).  Carefully cut the cross from the lower edge to the center area, bend up a bit to position the Circle Framelit™ and use the Big Shot™ to cut out the circle around the cross.

Use a Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Write marker to color the cross and use the Pilot V5 pen to create additional depth in the black areas of the cross.

Use a Sponge Dauber with Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink to color the background around the cross.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Framed Tulips Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and adhere the cardfront onto the Rich Razzleberry card base.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Paper Doily Sizzlit L™ to cut out a doily from Whisper White cardstock and the Window Frame Collection Framelits™ to cut out the window frame from a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Adhere the cross to the window frame and doily and add to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Punch the sentiment out using the XL Oval Punch and adhere to a Basic Black XL Oval piece – adhere behind the window frame and add to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

To finish off the card, add Rhinestones to the cross, sentiment and the retired Frosted Finishes Embellishment to the center.

Stamp Sets:  Crosses of Hope, Well Scripted, Fabulous Phrases (all MDS versions)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Rich Razzleberry, Stampin’ Write Marker- Rich Razzleberry
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry

Accessories: Big Shot™, Circle Collection and Window Frames Collection Framelits™, Paper Doily Sizzlit L™, Framed Tulip Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, XL Oval Punch, Sponge Dauber, Rhinestones, retired Frosted Finishes embellishment, Pilot V5 Pen

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a fabulous Resurrection Sunday and wonderful week!!

DD98 Cross of Hope- Happy Easter!

Hi Stampers!

Time for the new DD98 Dynamic Duos “Subtly Yours”  and I decided to turn to My Digital Studio (MDS) along with traditional card making techniques to create my Easter card for this project :-)

I hope you will have the time to visit and check out the rest of the fantastic Design Team projects as well as create your own and share with us!!

To create this project:
Using MDS, open a blank 8.5x11 document and insert the floral cross from Crosses of Hope and enlarge a bit.   Also insert the “Easter” sentiment from Well Scripted, the “Happy” sentiment from Fabulous Phrases (reducing the size of the word Happy and inserting above Easter) and print out onto Whisper White cardstock.
Using Stampin’ Write markers in So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder and Sahara Sand to color the cross image and carefully cut out.
Punch out the sentiment using the 1 ¾” Circle Punch and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock (also punched with the 1 ¾” Circle Punch).
Use the Big Shot™ with the retired Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of So Saffron cardstock and the retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a strip of Wisteria Wonder Designer Series Paper (DSP).
Mount the Wisteria Wonder strip to a piece of Basic Black cardstock and lightly sand with the Sanding Block to expose the white core.  Adhere the sentiment behind the layer and mount onto the So Saffron embossed background.
Adhere the entire panel to the Basic Black card base and add the cross using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.
Create the rolled flowers using Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder and So Saffron cardstock and the 1 3/4” and 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punches (punch out the scallops, hand “scrunch” the cardstock to loosen the fibers in the paper, cut a wavy spiral from the outside toward the center and roll up).
Add the flowers with the Basic Black leaves (from the Bird Builder Punch) and Pearls to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets: Crosses of Hope, Fabulous Phrases, Well Scripted (MDS version)
Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder, Sahara Sand
Paper/Cardstock:  So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder, Basic Black, Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder DSP
Accessories: Big Shot™, retired Elegant Bouquet and Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, Punches: 1 ¾” and 1 1/4” Scallop Circle, Bird Builder, 1 ¾” Circle; Pearls

Thanks again for visiting - I hope you have a chance to join in on our “DD98 Subtly Yours” Challenge!

CAS Gratitude for The Paper Players

Hi Stampers!!

I wanted to create a CAS card for this week’s PP172 CAS with Leaves from ThePaper Players (Nance’s Challenge).   I hope you have had a chance to check out all of the Design Team samples as well as the wonderful entries- they are all fabulous!!

I recently purchased a small leaf die cut that has an embossed image insert to complement the SU! Leaves Original Die and decided to use it for this card along with some retired rub-ons, current stamp sets and a quick, easy layout.

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ to cut the leaf die from a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and another cut with the insert on a piece of Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper (DSP) and using Sponge Daubers, lightly sponge Tangerine Tango and Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink around the edges and the veins of the leaves.

Punch out one more 2 ½” circle from Early Espresso cardstock to use a base and glue the Early Espresso circle with the die cut leaf onto the base circle.  Glue the embossed and sponged leaf into the center.

Stamp the sentiment from Fabulous Phrases using Early Espresso Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, punch out using the 1 ¼” Circle Punch.

On a piece of Soft Sky cardstock, rub-on the wheat spray from the retired Autumn Traditions rub-ons.  Using Early Espresso Classic Ink, stamp the script stamp from Background Builders and the small dot splatter type stamp from Gorgeous Grunge to add a bit of "texture" :-).

Adhere two scrap strips of Early Espresso cardstock to the top and bottom of the panel and adhere the sentiment to the bottom of the panel.  Mount the panel onto a piece of Whisper White and stamp a few more images from Gorgeous Grunge at the upper top and bottom lower edge of the card front.

Adhere to another piece of Early Espresso cardstock, trim and add to the Soft Sky card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the die cut leaf circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals® as well to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Background Builders, Fabulous Phrases, Gorgeous Grunge

Ink: Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry

Paper: Whisper White, Soft Sky, Sweater Weather DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™, retired Autumn Traditions rub-ons, Punches—2 ½” XL Circle, 1 ¼” Circle, non SU! Leaf Die with Embossing Insert

Thanks again for stopping by- have a wonderful Tuesday!

CAS Masking Tape Backgrounds for a Color and Photo Challenge :-)

Hi Stampers!!

Here are a few more cards created in honor of World Card Making Day using the Masking Tape Technique (I am having so much fun with this technique!)  along with the colors from the CC446 Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge- A Crazy Suede Starfruit (with the dessert option of a bow with treatment) and the Stampin' Royalty SR196 Picture Inspiration.

I hope you will take a moment to visit each site- love the projects from the Design Teams and all of the other entrants :-)

To create the first card:

Using the Masking Tape Technique-  place a strip of Summer Starfruit, Cajun Craze and Soft Suede Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock (see previous post for details on this technique and the link has a photo tutorial from Splitcoaststampers - although I used regular Whisper White cardstock versus Glossy Paper).

Using Cajun Craze Classic Ink, stamp the flowers from Summer Silhouettes over the masked background.

Round the corners using the Envelope Punch Board (or a corner rounder), add the 3/8” Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon triple bow along with ½ of a Tea Lace Paper Doily (cut the doily in half, remove part of the center paper, cut the “curves” to allow you to pleat and adhere to the focal image using Sticky Strip.

Stamp the sentiment from Wetlands using Cajun Craze Classic Ink onto Whisper White and punch out with the XL Oval Punch- adhere to the side of the focal image.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder  to emboss a piece of Soft Suede (this was a Chalk Talk label that was one of my scraps, rounded the corners) and a 2 ½” Circle of Cajun Craze (also from scraps)- love using up my scraps.

Use the Big Shot™ to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Pretty Print Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and mount onto a Cajun Craze card base.

Adhere the embossed label, circle and focal image- add the Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Summer Silhouettes, Wetlands

Ink: Cajun Craze, Summer Starfruit, Soft Suede

Paper: Whisper White, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede

Accessories: Big Shot™,  Woodgrain and Pretty Print Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Tea Lace Paper Doily, 3/8” Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon, Pearls , Punches- XL Oval, 2 1/2" Circle, Envelope Punch Board, Masking Tape

To create the second card:

Using the same Masking Tape Technique as in the first card, place a strip of Summer Starfruit, Cajun Craze and Soft Suede Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.

Using Cajun Craze Classic Ink, stamp the leaves from Gently Falling (masking a few of the leaves using a sticky note).

Mount the leaf panel onto Whisper White cardstock using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.  Add the 3/8” Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon triple bow and Antique Brad (for the dessert part of the Splitcoaststampers CC446 Color Challenge).

Adhere the entire focal panel onto a piece of Soft Suede cardstock and stamp the sentiment from Fabulous Phrases using Cajun Craze Classic Ink.  Mount the panel onto another piece of Whisper White cardstock and then onto the Cajun Craze card base.

Add a few Pearls near the sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Gently Falling, Fabulous Phrases

Ink: Cajun Craze, Summer Starfruit, Soft Suede

Paper: Whisper White, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede

Accessories: Masking Tape, 3/8” Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon, Antique Brad, Pearls

Celebrating with the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge!

Hi Stampers!!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far :-)  I wanted to create a card for the Stampin’Celebration Inspiration Challenge #68 for July- I love their inspirational photos and the Design Team is fantastic!   Again, if you have not visited these sites yet- stop by and check it out!!

The inspiration photo seemed to showcase chevrons and since I had not ordered the new background set and/or Designer Series Paper from the color families yet, I decided to improvise with the recently retired set, Beyond Plaid…

To create this quick CAS card:

Use the Big Shot™ with the Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Trim and mount onto a piece of Elegant Eggplant and then again onto a piece of Whisper White.  Add to the Whisper White card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Using Strawberry Slush and Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink, stamp the chevron background stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.  Punch out the butterflies from the chevron background using the Elegant Butterfly Punch.

Adhere the butterflies and the banner sentiment to the main panel using Mini Glue Dots, add the Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Beyond Plaid, Fabulous Phrases

Ink: Strawberry Slush, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant

Paper: Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant

Accessories: Big Shot™, Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder ,  Punches- Elegant Butterfly, 1” Square, Rhinestones

Special Thanks to You~ SUO Challenge

Hi Stampers!

I have been busy with our end of month billing at work but was able to find some time to stamp and de-stress :-))

I wanted to participate in the SUO #49 Special Thanks to You! Challenge at SU-O Challenges (if you have the time, check out their blog-- the Design team has done a fabulous job!!)

I wanted to create this card for my dear friend and assistant at work (I hope she does not check out my blog before I have a chance to give her this card :-))  She is on vacation this week and I miss her already in more ways than one :-)

To create this simple card:

On a piece of Whisper White, use a Sponge Dauber with Daffodil Delight Classic Ink and in a circular motion, apply the ink to the  paper (some areas heavier than others).

Stamp the floral images from Stippled Blossoms with Island Indigo Classic Ink, layer onto Island Indigo cardstock and again onto Whisper White cardstock.

Create the background layer with Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper (DSP), Daffodil Delight cardstock embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (this piece was part of my scrap pile:-)).

Add the embossed border using the new Delicate Designs Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (lace) , stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White Cardstock and cut with the Bitty Banner Framelits™, add the Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon bow and of course, a few pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Stippled Blossoms, Fabulous Phrases

 Ink: Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo

Paper:  Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Summer Smooches DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Bitty Banners Framelits™, Square Lattice and Delicate Designs Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder,  Sponge Dauber, ½” Daffodil Delight Seam Binding, Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by - I hope you like this quick "summery" card - I normally am not that fond of yellow but for some reason it is growing on me  (I do like it with blue and white so possibly there is still hope for me yet :-))

Have a great weekend and take some time for yourself- God Bless!

Celebrate- Three Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!

I created this card in celebration of July 4th.    I decided to combine three challenges- the PP52 Clean and Simple (CAS)Sketch from The Paper PlayersHSSFJ72 Stars and Stripes Challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments and the CAS99 Stars Challenge at Pals Paper Arts.   I modified the sketch a bit, but that is what sketch challenges are all about- using the sketch to inspire your creativity:-)

If you have time to visit each of the challenge sites, each of their Design Teams have created such beautiful projects and with all of the other entries- endless ideas!

As for me, I love anything patriotic- the feelings of pride for our country, our flag, our heritage and our military.   With the anniversary of our independence as a nation soon upon us, we are again reminded that freedom comes at a cost and we should be thankful for those who serve our nation to keep us free!

This card was very easy to make using a few punches, Big Shot with a few dies and one embossing folder.
Stamp Sets:  Fabulous Phrases
 Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy
Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Lattice EF, Dies- Star, 3” Circle, 3 ½” Circle, Punches- Large Star (soon to be retired), 2 ¾” XL Circle, Word Window, Modern Label, 5/16” Handheld, Star Brads (retired)

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you are having a great week and continue to give thanks for our freedom!
