Praying for You- Two Challenges in One!

Hi Again Stampers!

I wanted to share the final card that I created yesterday using the CCMC300 Create withConnie and Mary Color Challenge along with the Pals Paper Arts PPA201 SketchChallenge.

If you have not already visited their sites, I hope that you would have the time to do so- terrific Design Teams and examples in the gallery!!

To create this card:

Ink the floral stamp from Stippled Blossoms using Basic Gray Classic Ink and stamp repeatedly onto Whisper White cardstock.  Use a Sponge Dauber with Calypso Coral Classic Ink to sponge color onto the flowers and Basic Gray around the edges.  Mount onto Basic Black cardstock and sponge additional Basic Gray Classic Ink around the edges.

Ink the En Francais background stamp using Calypso Coral Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Crumb Cake Designer Series Paper (DSP).
Use the Big Shot™ with the retired Final Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss the piece of DSP and also emboss a piece of Basic Gray cardstock.

Lightly sand the embossed DSP to expose the white core, use a Sponge Dauber to apply Calypso Coral Classic Ink and Basic Gray to highlight the embossed images and mount both pieces onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock.    Sponge additional Basic Gray Classic Ink around the edges and center, mount again onto Calypso Coral cardstock and adhere to the Basic Gray card base (applying additional Basic Gray Classic Ink to all edges).

Sponge additional Basic Gray Classic ink onto the embossed Basic Gray layer and add to the card front per the sketch.

Add the layers at the top and bottom of the panel (created from the Decorative Label punch cut into half) and sponge additional Basic Gray Classic Ink to darken.

Using a sentiment printed from My Digital Studio (MDS), sponge Calypso Coral Classic Ink and Basic Gray Classic Ink and punch out using the Large Oval Punch. Punch two additional ovals using the Large Oval Punch from Basic Gray cardstock, layer to create a frame for the sentiment and add to the focal image panel.  Mount the focal panel onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Stamp three of the butterflies from Papillon Potpourri onto Whisper White cardstock and punch out the images using the Elegant Butterfly Punch.  Sponge Calypso Coral Classic Ink onto the butterflies and add to the card front.

Add Pearls to the centers of the butterflies as well as the sentiment to finish off the card.

Ink: Calypso Coral, Basic Gray

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake DSP

MIX65 Swallowtail Prayers

Hi Again Stampers!

Here is my final card for theSplitcoaststampers MIX65 Challenge- Back to Kindergarten (using crayons) and used the crayon rubbed embossing technique on this card as well as the colors from the CCMC300 Create with Connie and Mary Challenge (although I did not link this card in the CCMC300 challenge since I used a non-SU! lace).

I hope you will have the time to check out the gallery at both sites- again, so much talent and inspiration!!

To create this card:

Using the crayon rubbed embossing technique (here is the link to the forum and the technique videos), open the retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and place a piece of Whisper White cardstock on top of the raised portion of the folder.   Rub the White Crayon over the cardstock (press firmly) and use a brayer to apply Calypso Coral Classic Ink.

Use a paper towel to rub the ink off the crayon areas, use a Sponge Dauber first with Crumb Cake Classic Ink, rub off the ink and use a Sponge Dauber with Basic Gray Classic Ink (rubbing the ink off again with a dry paper towel).

Ink the En Francais stamp using Basic Gray Classic Ink and stamp over the background.  Wipe off the excess ink using a dry paper towel.

Layer onto the Basic Gray card base and add the sentiment (from a previously printed sentiment from My Digitial Studio and layered with the 1 ¼” Circle Punch), the crochet lace trim with the embossed piece of Basic Gray cardstock (embossed with the Big Shot™ and the retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder).  Add a few Pearls to the bottom area of the sentiment (hard to see in the photo) :-)

Color the Swallowtail image using Stampin’ Write markers- Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake and Basic Gray.  Use a Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker to accent the dark areas and the Chalk Marker to highlight some of the areas of the wings.

Add the Swallowtail image using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Swallowtail, Thoughts and Prayers (both MDS versions), En Francais

Ink: Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Basic Gray

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Gray

Accessories: Big Shot™, retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, White Crayon, Brayer, Sponge Daubers,  1 ¼” Circle Punch, crochet trim from my stash
