Friends Never Fade- Final Card from Inspiration Photo :-)

Hi There Stampers!!

This is the sixth and final card that I created yesterday based on the terrific SR199 Stampin’ Royalty Inspiration Photo and a modified version of the Splitcoaststampers SC449 Sketch Challenge.

Hopefully, if you have not done so yet,  you find the time to you will visit their sites and check out all of the fabulous designs!!

If you have not been following this card series and are wondering why I created six cards from one inspiration challenge, I have more details in my first post here  :-)

To create this card:

Using My Digital Studio (MDS) print out the Friends Never Fade image onto Very Vanilla cardstock using the black printer ink (re-size the image a bit).

To distress the image a bit, color in the flower/sentiment area using Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write markers and when dry add a few highlights with the Chalk Marker.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Chalk Talk  Framelit™ to cut out a tag from Very Vanilla cardstock and cover using scraps of the retired Newsprint DSP.  Distress by hand and with the Distressing Tool and use a Sponge Daubler to sponge on Crumb Cake Classic Ink.

Mount onto scrap pieces of Basic Black cardstock (previously embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder).

Add the Very Vanilla rolled flowers and the black satin ribbon bow.  FYI- the rolled flowers were created with 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punch, cut a wavy spiral toward the center, roll up and adhere with MultiPurpose glue, sponge with Crumb Cake Classic Ink and add the Pearl in the center.

Distess a piece of retired Newsprint DSP with the Distressing Tool and use a Sponge Daubler to sponge on Crumb Cake Classic Ink.  Add to the Basic Black card base.

Add the distressed Newsprint center with the crochet trim (from my stash) to the panel.  To distress this layer, crumble the DSP by hand and lightly sand with the Sanding Block.  Sponge with Crumb Cake and Early Espresso Classic Ink, add the Basic Black cardstock strip at the top and bottom before adhering the crochet trim).

Add the Pearls  to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Friends Never Fade (MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Stampin’ Write Markers- Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand

Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, retired Newsprint DSP

Accessories: Sponge Dauber, Distressing Tool, 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punch, Pearls, Black Satin Ribbon  and Crochet Lace(from my stash)

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- I had a great time creating these cards yesterday from scraps and “stash” items (although still barely made a dent :-)))

Hope all of you have a fabulous Monday!!

Retired Soon- Color Challenge with an Old Friend

Hi Again Stampers!

I wanted to create a card using one of the soon to be retired stamp sets and In-Colors and this week's  CCMC197 Create with Connieand Mary Color Challenge was perfect!  If you have not done so already, check out the Design Team samples as well as the other entries- gorgeous!

Friends Never Fade will only be available until the end of May and I love the floral scroll and sentiment on the main floral stamp (fyi-Concord Crush will also be retiring along with the In-Colors for 2010-2012).

This card is fairly simple and combines quite a few techniques- heat embossing, dry embossing, crimping, rolled flowers and of course, pearls  :-)   I will have to come back and post more details tomorrow since it is so late…

Stamp Sets: Friends Never Fade

Cardstock:  Crushed Concord, Marina Mist, Certainly Celery, Whisper White

Ink: Versamark™, Concord Crush

Accessories: Big Shot™, Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder- Snow Burst and Perfect Polka Dot, Designer Frame (rectangular),  Heat Tool, Stampin’ Emboss® Clear Embossing Powder, 1 3/8” and 1 ¾” Circle Punches, Crimper Tool, Pearls

Thanks again for visiting!  I hope you like this card and if you have the time let me know- will you be sad to see Friends Never Fade retire?

Have a great week stamping- God Bless!

Two Challenges, Embedded Embossing and More!

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to create a card using the colors from this week’s CCMC177 Create with Connie and Mary Challenge along with the Stamping411 SSC231 Sketch Challenge.  Both sites have excellent Design Teams and other entries that provide plenty of inspiration each week!

To create this card:

Stamp the floral spray from Friends Never Fade using Versamark™ ink onto River Rock cardstock, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Navy Embossing Powder (retired) and heat emboss with the Heat Tool.  Once the image has cooled, emboss again with the Big Shot™ and the Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (this creates the Embedded Embossing layer).  Mount our homemade Designer Paper onto Night of Navy cardstock.

Also stamp the focal image with Versamark™ ink onto a piece of Lucky Limeade cardstock and again onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock- apply Stampin’ Emboss® Navy Embossing Powder (retired) and heat emboss with the Heat Tool.  Once cooled, cut the flower out from the Whisper White embossed piece, color the center with a Stampin’ Write River Rock marker and adhere over the Lucky Limeade flower (paper piecing the flower in the image).

********Note*********
Another alternative to the Navy Embossing Powder (EP) would be to ink the stamp with Night of Navy Craft ink and heat emboss with Clear EP, or ink with Versamark™ ink, then ink with Night of Navy Classic Ink and heat emboss with Clear EP.

Using a Brayer, apply Night of Navy ink onto the smooth interior side of the Finial Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and emboss a piece of Lucky Limeade.  Adhere this layer to Night of Navy and River Rock.

With the Big Shot™ and the Designer Frame (rectangular) EF, emboss a piece of Lucky Limeade and Whisper White.  Carefully cut around the edges and lightly sponge with a Sponge Dauber.

Layer the card according to the sketch, adhere the 5/8” White Satin Ribbon Bow and mount onto the Night of Navy card base to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Friends Never Fade

Cardstock: Lucky Limeade, Night of Navy, River Rock, Whisper White

Ink: Versamark™

Accessories: Big Shot™, Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders- Desiigner Frames (Rectangular), Finial Press, Square Lattice, Heat Gun, Stampin’ Emboss® Navy Embossing Powder (retired), Brayer, Sponge Dauber, 5/8” White Satin Ribbon, Stampin’ Write River Rock Marker

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you enjoy this card and have a great week creating your paper crafting projects- God Bless!

Journal – Friends Never Fade

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to create a gift swap for an upcoming demonstrator’s group meeting tomorrow morning and wanted to submit an item for this week’s The Paper Player’s "Anything Goes Challenge" PP22 (see http://www.thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/ for more details).

I decided to decorate a journal in a vintage collage style using Friends Never Fade- I hope whoever receives this journal likes it:-)

To create this journal:

The main focal image was created using the floral image stamp from Friends Never Fade with Versamark Ink and Black EP on Very Vanilla cardstock.

The other floral image from the same stamp set was embossed with Black EP on retired DP from the Hostess Pack.  Sponge Crumb Cake ink over the embossed images using a Sponge Dauber, and also use Basic Black over the edges on the Crumb Cake DP embossed layer.

I stamped and distressed a piece of the Newsprint DP and used multiple scraps from my cardstock stash for the other layers.

Topped it off with a few Antique Brads, Chantilly Lace and the 1 ¼” Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

Stamp Sets:  Friends Never Fade, En Francais
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, retired Hostess DP
Ink: Versamark, Basic Black, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper, Square Lattice and Finial Press EF, Top Note Die,  Heat Gun, Embossing Buddy, Black EP,  1 ¼” Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Antique Brads, Chantilly Lace, Sponge Daubers

Thanks again for visiting- have a blessed weekend!

Friends Never Fade

Hi Stampers!
Today’s card was created for two challenges – The Paper Players PP21- Ann’s Choice (see http://www.thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/ ) and  the Pals Paper Arts PPA66 – Margaret Moody’s Sketch Challenge (see http://www.palspaperarts.com/ ) .
The Paper Players Challenge required the use of DP (Designer Paper), a punch and a sentiment.    I wanted to use the 1 ¼” Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, so decided to keep the card fairly simple.
I embossed the focal image with Black EP and of course, had to add those pearls!   Since the stamped image already included sentiment, I modified the sketch and used the bow at the top for #5.

Stamp Sets:  Friends Never Fade
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: Big Shot, Finial Press EF, Basic Gray DP (retired Hostess Level I), 1 ¼” Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, 5/8” Black Satin Ribbon, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Pearls

Thanks again for visiting- I hope all of you have a lovely weekend!

Friends Never Fade with the CCMC117 Inspiration Challenge

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to create a card for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary CCMC117 Photo Inspiration Challenge (see http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com) along with the SSC170 Sketch Challenge from Stamping411 with the Operators (http://www.stamping411.blogspot.com/  .

I love this sketch and this birthday cake has so many details!

I decided to focus on some of the colors versus the birthday theme and chose to ink up my Friends Never Fade stamp set.

This card utilizes the emboss resist technique on the new Blushing Bride Hostess Level I Designer Paper.  I stamped the floral image from the set with Versamark ink first, then directly into Cajun Craze before applying the Clear EP.

Using a sponge dauber, I applied additional Blushing Bride ink onto the embossed images to soften the design on the DP and before running the Blushing Bride Cardstock through the Big Shot, I sprayed the cardstock with alcohol (70%) to achieve a deeper impression.

I only had the larger SU! pearls left (my new order will arrive on Wed) so I may replace these pearls with the 3mm size.  The ribbon is from my stash and matches the Cajun Craze ink perfectly.

Stamp Sets:  Friends Never Fade
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Cajun Craze
Ink: Versamark, Blushing Bride, Cajun Craze
Accessories:  Big Shot, Finial Press EF, Sponge Daubers, Heat Gun, Clear EP, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Texturz Backgrounds I, Pearls, 5/8” Satin Ribbon from my stash

I hope  you enjoy this card- I had fun making it!  Have a great week and thanks again for visiting and leaving a comment :-)

PPA57 and Stamping411 Color #138 - Submission #2

Hi Stampers!

Today I decided to create another card using the sketch from Pals Paper Arts http://www.palspaperarts.com/ and the colors from the Stamping411 #138 - http://www.stamping411.blogspot.com/.  I enjoyed both of these challenges and after my “experiment” with the previous card, I wanted to create another card that reflected my normal “style”.

This card uses two types of embossing - it seems as though I can not resist the embossing lately! :-)

Stamp Sets: Friends Never Fade, Herb Expressions; Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Peach Parfait, Elegant Eggplant
Ink: Versamark, Elegant Eggplant, Peach Parfait
Accessories: Big Shot, Finial Press and Vintage Wallpaper EF, Embossing Buddy, Clear EP, Color Spritzer Tool, Elegant Eggplant marker, Frost White Shimmer Paint Mist, retired ¼” Elegant Eggplant grosgrain ribbon, Antique Brad, Large Oval Punch

Thanks again for looking- have a blessed day!
