SUO101 Bows, Bows, Bows !

Hi Stampers!

Time for the new SU-Only Challenges- "Bows, Bows, Bows"!!   You can create bows from cardstock, ribbon, twine – there are so many possibilities :-)

I hope that you will come check out the rest of the Design Team projects and join in on in on the fun with your Stampin’ Up! Only creations.

I created a birthday card for my stash and entered this card as my second entry into the Seize theBirthday Challenge:-)

To create this project:
Ink the Carolina Wren and foliage stamps from An Open Heart using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.
Color the foliage using the Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities™ and cut out using the Banner Collection Framelits™ (also cutting a banner the same size out of Cajun Craze cardstock).   Cut the Crajun Craze banner in half and layer behind the foliage banner and add the lower part of the image behind the banner.
Color the Carolina Wren image using Stampin’ Write markers- So Saffron, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and Basic Black and carefully cut out the image.  Adhere the wren using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to the banner.
Close-up of wren :-)
Split a White Paper Tea Lace Doily in half and adhere to the top portion of a piece of Park Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP).
Add a strip of Cajun Craze cardstock to hide the seam of the doily and add the 5/8” Gold Satin Ribbon. Adhere the DSP background panel to the Whisper White card base.
Create the 5/8” Triple bow from Gold Satin Ribbon, add to the top of the banner and add the banner to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.
Stamp the sentiment using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and use the Hexagon Punch to create the banner points.   Mount onto a smaller banner created from Cajun Craze cardstock and add to the cardfront.
Add the Pearls to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets: An Open Heart, Wetlands
Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Stampin’ Write Markers- So Saffron, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and Basic Black , Stampin’ Blendabilities™- Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler Collections, Chalk Marker
Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Cajun Craze, Park Lane DSP
Accessories:  Big Shot™, Banner Collection Framelits™, Hexagon Punch, Pearls, White Tea Lace Paper Doily, 5/8” Gold Satin Ribbon

Thanks again for stopping by - I hope you have a chance to join in on our SUO101 “Bows, Bows, Bows” Challenge!  Have a great week!!

Just gorgeous, Julie! The images are colored so perfectly and your bow is fabulous. So glad to finally find out what kind of bird that is. How did you figure that out?

Thanks Sandy! My husband and I are avid bird watchers and I immediately recognized one of our favorite wren "buddies" :-) One of the distinguishing marks of the Carolina Wren is their short angled tail along with the black lines above and below the white stripe through the eye :-) Again, thank you for your sweet comment and have fun stamping! Hugs to you, my friend!

Love the wren! We miss our Eastern birds here in Hawaii. Gorgeous job on the whole card. Oh, and of course the fabulous bow for the challenge!
