Hi Stampers!!
I had fun creating
this Mixed Media card for The Card Concept #27 Challenge using our wonderful photo
for inspiration. I was inspired by the
woodgrain background along with the ombre colors of the “LOVE” Letters :-)
The Card Concept is a
bi-weekly challenge that has an inspiration photo along with a number of design
styles that you can choose from to create your card- Clean and Simple, Clean
and Graphic, Clean and Layered, Shabby Chic, Freestyle Collage, Classy and
Elegant and Mixed Media.
Since this card has hearts, I am also linking to the Splitcoaststampers MIX54 Mix-Ability Hearts Challenge from February 7, 2014 :-)

project in one of the styles to join in on the fun!
Apply Gesso to a
piece of Whisper White cardstock and allow it to dry (you can use the Heat Tool
to speed up the drying process).
Once dried, apply
Gelatos™ (Bubble Gum and Guava) to the background, add water and use your
finger to smooth onto the background.
Apply Wendy Vecchi®
Crackled Texture Paste to the background using the round circles in the Balzar
Designs Mini Punchenella stencil- allow to dry (or use the Heat Tool to speed
up the process).
Apply Ranger® Tm
Holtz® Distress Stains- Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks and
spritz with water- allow the ink to drain down the panel.
Continue to layer more
ink adding Black Soot and Brushed Pewter Metallic Distress Stain.
Ink the Notable
Notions script stamp using Jet Black Stāz-On® Ink and randomly stamp over the
background. Add Jim Holtz® Adirondack®
Cranberry and Silver Alcohol Ink over the texture area and allow the ink to
spread over the textured area.
Trim the panel and add
the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware ribbon slid to the 5/8” Basic Black Satin
Ribbon and mount to the background panel.
Mount the panel onto a
piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Basic Black card
base.
Using My Digital
Studio (MDS) to print out the hearts from the digital stamp brush set, Always and
the sentiment (from Teeny Tiny Wishes) onto Whisper White cardstock.
Trim each word of the
sentiment and mount each onto Basic Black cardstock.
Color one of the
hearts using Worn Lipstick Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Stain and use an
AquaPainter™ to apply Frost White Shimmer Paint in the center of the remaining two
hearts.
Fussy-cut the hearts out and
mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock (fussy-cutting around the hearts to
create a frame).
Add the key trinket
with a piece of metallic wire to one of the frosted hearts and the keyed heart
along with the colored one at the lower part of the card base using Stampin’
Dimensionals®.
Add the letters to
the remaining frosted heart using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and mount the heart
over the ribbon at the top of the card.
Add the Frosted
Sequins to finish off the card.

That background is awesome, gorgeous card!
An awesome mixed media design Julie!
Oh my goodness Julie! Your card is just stunning! I didn't get a chance to comment last week as I away but I wanted to say how amazing and detailed your cards always are. I agree we have a similar style and also found that we have board on pinterest dedicated to us - actually I think it was my mum who found it as she is always on there. She couldn't wait to tell me about - proud mum that she is!
Super Mixed media! Once again , thanks for the process of how you created this one...I'm learning so much:)
Awesome mixed media creation, Julie!
