HYCCT1506 Happy Anniversary Hearts

Hi Again Friends!

Again, I hope you have a chance to check out the challenge sites- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Using My Digital Studio (MDS) print out the three hearts from the Always brush stamp set (reducing in size) onto Whisper White cardstock.

Carefully cut out the hearts, use a Sponge Dauber to apply Real Red Classic Ink to each heart, de-static with the Embossing Buddy®, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Clear Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Create the background by spritzing a piece of Whisper White cardstock with water and dropping Brusho® Brilliant Red, Purple and Turquoise Crystal Colours over the panel and spritz with water again (actually the background on the card is the result of pressing into the original panel that had excessive powder and water- this background was a bit softer in color and not so saturated...I am still experimenting with Brusho®)

Dry the Brusho® background with the Heat To

ol and stamp the script stamp from the retired Notable Notions using Stāz-On® Jet Black  Ink.

Trim the background panel into thirds and adhere the left and right panel directly onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

De-static a piece of Basic Black  cardstock with the Embossing Buddy®, stamp the sentiment from the retired hostess set, Express Yourself with Versamark™ ink, apply Stampin’ Emboss® White Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Adhere the sentiment strip to the center panel and add to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Card Concept #27- Love is in the Air

Hi Stampers!!

I had fun creating this Mixed Media card for The Card Concept #27 Challenge using our wonderful photo for inspiration.  I was inspired by the woodgrain background along with the ombre colors of the “LOVE” Letters :-)

The Card Concept is a bi-weekly challenge that has an inspiration photo along with a number of design styles that you can choose from to create your card- Clean and Simple, Clean and Graphic, Clean and Layered, Shabby Chic, Freestyle Collage, Classy and Elegant and Mixed Media.

Since this card has hearts, I am also linking to the Splitcoaststampers MIX54 Mix-Ability Hearts Challenge from February 7, 2014 :-)

I hope you will have a chance to check out the rest of the Design Team projects and create your own project in one of the styles to join in on the fun!

To create this card:

Apply Gesso to a piece of Whisper White cardstock and allow it to dry (you can use the Heat Tool to speed up the drying process).

Once dried, apply Gelatos™ (Bubble Gum and Guava) to the background, add water and use your finger to smooth onto the background.

Apply Wendy Vecchi® Crackled Texture Paste to the background using the round circles in the Balzar Designs Mini Punchenella stencil- allow to dry (or use the Heat Tool to speed up the process).

Apply Ranger® Tm Holtz® Distress Stains- Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks and spritz with water- allow the ink to drain down the panel.

Continue to layer more ink adding Black Soot and Brushed Pewter Metallic Distress Stain.

Ink the Notable Notions script stamp using Jet Black Stāz-On® Ink and randomly stamp over the background.  Add Jim Holtz® Adirondack® Cranberry and Silver Alcohol Ink over the texture area and allow the ink to spread over the textured area.

Trim the panel and add the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware ribbon slid to the 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon and mount to the background panel.

Mount the panel onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Basic Black card base.

Using My Digital Studio (MDS) to print out the hearts from the digital stamp brush set, Always and the sentiment (from Teeny Tiny Wishes) onto Whisper White cardstock.

Trim each word of the sentiment and mount each onto Basic Black cardstock.

Color one of the hearts using Worn Lipstick Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Stain and use an AquaPainter™ to apply Frost White Shimmer Paint in the center of the remaining two hearts.

Fussy-cut the hearts out and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock (fussy-cutting around the hearts to create a frame).

Add the key trinket with a piece of metallic wire to one of the frosted hearts and the keyed heart along with the colored one at the lower part of the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the letters to the remaining frosted heart using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and mount the heart over the ribbon at the top of the card.

Add the Frosted Sequins to finish off the card.

PP29 Valentine's Day with The Paper Players

Hi Stampers!

I created this card for the PP29 Valentine’s Day Theme Challenge at The Paper Players

I love the heart image from the Always set and thought I would incorporate that stamp with some of the new colors and accessories.

To create this card:

Using the Big Shot, emboss a Whisper White panel with the Finial Press EF.  Lightly sponge Cherry Cobbler over the raised images and spray with Frost White Shimmer Paint (mixed with 70% alcohol).  Layer this onto Basic Black and then onto the Whisper White card base.

De-static a piece of Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler using the Embossing Buddy.  Stamp the heart image from Always using Versamark ink onto both pieces of cardstock.  Heat emboss with Basic Black EP and carefully cut out each heart around the outside border.

Ink the En Francais background stamp with Cherry Cobbler and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White.  Sponge the edges with Cherry Cobbler and lightly sponge over the center area as well to tone down the white.  Spray this panel with Frost White Shimmer Paint and adhere to a Basic Black layer (leave a little extra at the bottom of the Basic Black for the punched border using the Pinking Hearts Border Punch).

Adhere the hearts in an overlapping design onto the En Francais background and attach the 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon bow.  Remove the stem from the Vintage Brad and use a mini glue dot to attach it to the center of the bow.

De-static a small piece of Whisper White and stamp the sentiment from Occasional Quotes in Versamark ink and heat emboss with Basic Black EP.  Layer this onto Basic Black – punch the lower portion with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch as well.
Attach to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Always, En Francais, Occasional Quotes (Hostess Level III)
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler
Ink: Versamark, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Big Shot, Finial Press EF, Sponge Dauber, Embossing Buddy, Heat Gun, Basic Black EP, Frost White Shimmer Paint, Vintage Brad, 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon

Thanks again for stopping by and all of your encouragement!
