Phil 4:8- Think About Such Things (One Layer Card) :-)

Hi Stampers!!
I had a chance to stamp today and decided to try one of the most difficult styles for me- a One Layer Card for the As You See It AYSI090 Challenge and chose to incorporate the Our Daily Bread Designs ODBDSLC241 Color Challenge as well as the Simon Wednesday “Make It Masculine” Challenge.

Again, if you have not already done so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above sites to check out the wonderful Design Team samples as well as their fantastic galleries!

To create this card:

Score a piece of 5 ½” x 11” retired Natural Whites cardstock at 4 ¼” and fold in half to create the card base.

Ink the sentiment from the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Sentiment Collection 9 using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto the front of the card.

Use a  piece of scrap paper or a sticky note to create a mask and ink the Lighthouse Collage (ODBD) stamp using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto the front of the card overlapping  part of the masked  image.

If needed, use a Faber-Castell® Black 2.0 Pitt Pen marker to darken some of the black areas.

To create the illusion of a night sky, apply Marina Mist Classic Ink with AquaPainter™ and while still moist, add Night of Navy Classic Ink (being careful not to have any of the ink spread onto the lighthouse).

Color the compass with Stampin’ Write markers- Tangerine Tango, Marina Mist, Night of Navy and Smoky Slate and add a bit of Tangerine Tango to the top of the lighthouse.

Create shadows with a Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker to finish off the card.

Quick, simple and the card is finished!

Stamp Sets:  Lighthouse Collage, Sentiment Collection 9 (both Our Daily Bread Designs)

Ink:  Stāz-On® Jet Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Sahara  Sand, Smoky Slate, Tangerine Tango; Faber-Castell® Pitt Pen Black 2.0 Marker

Paper: Naturals White

Accessories: AquaPainter™, scrap paper for masking

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- have a wonderful weekend, my friends!
