SC624 To Pray is to Let Go and Let God

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful week so far!  It’s time for the new Splitcoaststampers’ SC624 Sketch Challenge and I just love the sketch that Carey designed for us this week!

I decided to create a quick Mixed Media card using the brand new ODBD December 2016 release Handle with Prayer stamp set along with the coordinating ODBD Praying Hands Die, ODBD Deco Border Die and the ODBD previously released Pierced Circles Dies, Pierced Rectangles Dies and ODBD Beautiful Boho Collection 6x6 Paper Pad.

If you have not already visited the above challenge sites yet, I hope you will have a chance to do so- fabulous inspiration from my DT Sisters at the SCS Sketch Gallery and ODBD Blog as well as the Word Art Wednesday challenge site!

To create this card:

1). Ink the ODBD Handle with Prayer hand image with archival black ink and stamp onto white cardstock. Heat set with a heat tool.

2). Color the image with Prismacolor colored pencils, blend the colors with a paper stump and add darker shadows with a dijon and blush water-based marker.

3). Die cut and emboss the ODBD Handle with Prayer image using the coordinating ODBD Praying Hands Die and also die cut another hand image from white cardstock to layer for additional thickness.

4). Die cut and emboss a piece of white cardstock with the ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies, layer onto a piece of light blue cardstock, trim and mount onto the bright pink card base.

5). Die cut and emboss a piece of white cardstock with the ODBD Deco Border Die.

6).  Cut a piece of patterned paper (angled per the SC624 sketch) from the ODBD BeautifulBoho Collections 6x6 Paper Pad and adhere the die cut ODBD Deco Border Die piece along the angle.

7). Die cut and emboss a piece of white and light blue cardstock using the ODBD Pierced Circle Dies, layer and mount onto the card front (again, per the sketch).

8). Add the die cut/colored ODBD Handle with Prayer hand image with dimensional foam.

9). Ink the sentiment from ODBD Handle with Prayer using archival black ink and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock.  Die cut and emboss with the ODBD Pierced Circle Dies, mount onto the card front.

10). Add a few rhinestones to finish off the card.

I had fun designing this card and hope I have inspired you to come join us in the SC624 Sketch Challenge and/or the ODBDSLC281 “Let’s Be Sentimental” Challenge!

Hugs and have a blessed Christmas week, my friends!
