TCC209 A Friend Loveth

Hi Friends!

We are excited to be back with our monthly challenges at The Card Concept!

The photo inspiration for our #209 {Fall Florals} Challenge inspired me to pull out a stamp that I have owned for quite a while but had not inked up yet.  So many stamps, so little time, lol!

I paired the I/O Vase Kitty Butterfly image with a retired Stampin’ Up! verse sentiment from Say It With Scripture (from 1990),

Using these older stamps helps me to fulfill one of my long-term goals to create at least one card using my older stamps (this will take years since I have almost a thousand stamp sets).

I have this goal in addition to creating a card for each of the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenges (they have over a thousand sketches) and I was able to incorporate the SC301 Sketch into the design of this card.

I am also participating with the INKspirational #324 “Make Your Mark” Challenge, My Time To Craft #542 “Add Texture” (I added texture with ribbon and the embossing), and the Simon Says Monday “STAMP IT” Challenge.

I hope you will take a moment to visit our challenge blog to see how the rest of the Design Team were inspired as well as check out the other challenge galleries to see their fabulous creations!

To create this card:

On a piece of white cardstock, de-static with an embossing powder tool, ink the Vase Kitty Butterfly image with Versafine Black Onyx ink, stamp onto the prepared panel, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, watercolor with water-based markers, watercolor pencils and distress oxide inks to color the image.

Cut out the image loosely, leaving enough room for the rectangular die (fussy-cutting around the flowers in the vase on the outer edge).

Die cut with a rectangle stitched die, protecting the left-hand side from the stitched die.

Layer a piece of 4 ⅛” x 5 ⅜“ white cardstock onto a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of black cardstock.

Add a piece of yellow designer paper approx. 4 ½” x 4” to a piece of black cardstock.

Add a piece of 1 ½” gray satin ribbon to the designer paper layer, wrap the ends of the ribbon behind the panel before mounting onto the card front.

Adhere the card front to the white card base.

Mount the layered kitty image onto card front with dimensional foam.

De-static a piece of black cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the Proverbs 17:17 verse sentiment with Versamark ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut the sentiment with a stitched tag die.

Add to the card front using dimensional foam on the outer left-hand side and directly onto the kitty image panel.

Add a few pearls to the upper right-hand corner of the kitty image panel and the lower left-hand area of the tag sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Vase Kitty Butterfly (Impression Obsession I/O Stamps), Say It With Scripture (1990 Stampin’ Up!)

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the Sunflower Season floral image (just the flower head) with Versafine Onyx Black ink and stamp onto the center left hand edge of the cardstock.

Apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Stamp the image again onto scrap paper (or a sticky note) and fussy-cut the image.

Place the fussy-cut image over the embossed image and repeat step the embossing step above for the two additional flowers.

Watercolor the floral image with distress inks and water-based markers.  Fussy cut the entire image close to the stamped edges.

Emboss a piece of white cardstock with the Sizzix 3D Texture Fades Lumber embossing folder, trim to 2 ½” x 5 ⅜”.

Mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim close to the edge.

Trim a piece of the Sunset Ink Drops designer paper to 1 ¾” x 5 ⅜” and mount onto the right-hand side of a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of black cardstock.

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing another quick fall card designed with the Falling Leaves Border Strip and Blessings/Beautitudes 1 stamp sets along with the Craft Consortium Sunset Ink Drops Paper, twine- all from Stamp Simply!

This card is so easy to create- just stamps, ink, a bit of embossing, designer paper and twine!

I have mentioned in previous posts that I have a personal goal to try to create a card for each of the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenges (now at over 1,000) and for this card, I used the SC248 Sketch for the layout.

I am also playing along with the Word Art Wednesday #663-#664 Anything Goes Challenge and the Simon Says Wednesday “STAMP IT” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to check out the rest of my Sister Design Team cards on the Stamp Simply blog, or the other challenges site yet, I hope you take the time to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

De-static a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of the orange Sunset Ink Drops paper with an embossing powder tool, ink the Falling Leaves Border Strip stamp with Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamp onto the prepared cardstock, add clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool (I love how the colors of the ink drops paper are perfect for the fall leaves).

Repeat the above steps for the second border strip image.

Cut the border strip images apart and mount onto a piece of 3” x 5 ⅜” black cardstock.

Adhere the panel to a 4 ⅛” x 5 ⅜” piece of white cardstock.

Wrap the three stands of black bakers twine over the panel (adhering the ends behind the panel) and mount onto a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of black cardstock.

Mount the entire panel onto a white card base.

Adhere a scrap piece of the Sunset Ink Drops paper (approx. 1" x 5 ¼” ) to the inside left hand side of the card base ( I like to do this to use up scraps :-)).

Create a bow from the black bakers twine and adhere to the card front.

De-static a white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the Proverbs 16:20 verse from the Blessings/Beatitudes 1 stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamp onto the prepared cardstock, add clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Carefully trim the verse sentiment apart, mount each part onto black cardstock, trim close to the edge.

Mount onto the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.
