Blessed Is The One

 

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing another quick fall card designed with the Falling Leaves Border Strip and Blessings/Beautitudes 1 stamp sets along with the Craft Consortium Sunset Ink Drops Paper, twine- all from Stamp Simply!

This card is so easy to create- just stamps, ink, a bit of embossing, designer paper and twine!

I have mentioned in previous posts that I have a personal goal to try to create a card for each of the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenges (now at over 1,000) and for this card, I used the SC248 Sketch for the layout.

I am also playing along with the Word Art Wednesday #663-#664 Anything Goes Challenge and the Simon Says Wednesday “STAMP IT” Challenge.

To create this card:

De-static a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of the orange Sunset Ink Drops paper with an embossing powder tool, ink the Falling Leaves Border Strip stamp with Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamp onto the prepared cardstock, add clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool (I love how the colors of the ink drops paper are perfect for the fall leaves).

Repeat the above steps for the second border strip image.

Cut the border strip images apart and mount onto a piece of 3” x 5 ⅜” black cardstock.

Adhere the panel to a 4 ⅛” x 5 ⅜” piece of white cardstock.

Wrap the three stands of black bakers twine over the panel (adhering the ends behind the panel) and mount onto a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of black cardstock.

Mount the entire panel onto a white card base.

Adhere a scrap piece of the Sunset Ink Drops paper (approx. 1" x 5 ¼” ) to the inside left hand side of the card base ( I like to do this to use up scraps :-)).

Create a bow from the black bakers twine and adhere to the card front.

De-static a white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the Proverbs 16:20 verse from the Blessings/Beatitudes 1 stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamp onto the prepared cardstock, add clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Carefully trim the verse sentiment apart, mount each part onto black cardstock, trim close to the edge.

Mount onto the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

TCC195 You Are In My Prayers

The Card Concept is a bi-weekly photo inspiration challenge and every month for the second challenge of the month we have two photos to inspire your card!

I was inspired by the Garden Birds photo for my Clean and Layered Mixed Media card.  I am fortunate to see robins all year round (they do not migrate but tend to move into the forest areas during the winter here in Maryland- well, at least some of them, lol!).

I enjoy participating with other online challenges (I know how much work goes into maintaining a challenge blog and want to give them support). 

I will also be playing along with the Word Art Wednesday #595-#596 “Anything Goes” Challenge and I was able to incorporate the Splitcoaststampers SC166 Sketch Challenge into the design.

If you have not already visited us at The Card Concept, I hope you will find the time to do so.  Gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the DT as well as the other challenge sites.

I decided to pull out some retired designer papers along with a long ago printed digital image from Stampin’ Up! for this card.

I had the robin image from the digi stamp set, Nature (My Digital Studio from Stampin’ Up!) printed and in my stash.

The image was hand colored with water-color pencils, water-based markers and distress oxide inks.

The image was die cut with a rectangle stitched die and mounted onto black cardstock.

The sentiment from the Stamp Simply Blessings/Beatitudes 1 was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

The designer paper layers were positioned onto the sentiment panel (per the sketch) for the background and silver metallic string was wrapped over the panel before adhering it to a white card base.

The hand-colored digital robin image panel was mounted with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

They Shall Be Comforted

This week the Design Team at Stamp Simply are sharing cards for life events.  I decided to create a sympathy card, since unfortunately, I never seem to have enough sympathy cards on file.

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy playing along with online challenges and I decided to incorporate the Freshly Made Sketch #578 into the design.

I like the clean lines on this sketch and it was perfect for a scrap piece of designer paper that I had on my desk :-)

I am also playing along with the Word Art Wednesday #587-#588 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

I hope you have a chance to check out the rest of the inspiration from the Stamp Simply Design Team as well as from the other challenge sites.

The floral image from the Pretty Poppies Bundle was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink and once heat set with a heat tool, water-colored with water-based markers and pencils.  Highlights in the floral centers were created with an extra fine paint marker.

The floral image was die cut with the coordinating die and layered onto another die cut from white cardstock.

The background panels were stenciled using a stencil brush with Crushed Olive Distress Oxide ink and the Tim Holtz Flourish Layering Stencil.

A piece of Farmer’s Market (Echo Park) paper was used for the horizontal strip.

The verse from the Blessings/Beatitudes 1 clear stamp set was heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

The pearls were added in the upper right hand corner to finish off the card.
