TCC165 Peace On Earth

Hi Friends!

Welcome to The Card Concept #165 Peace on Earth Challenge!  Sorry I am a bit late with my card this week, we are still in the middle of renovations and spackling/painting walls has become my full-time job, lol!

For those of you who are not familiar with The Card Concept Challenge, we are a bi-weekly challenge that uses an inspiration photo for you to create a card.

We hope you can join us for our challenge.  We are flexible- you can choose one card-making style or a combination of styles, the choice is yours, plus our Design Team has created cards to help give you even more inspiration!

For this challenge, I was inspired by the “Peace on Earth” theme as well as the silver and gold colors to create a simple Classy and Elegant style card! I am so far behind on my Christmas cards and hope to make multiples of this card this week!

Again, in an effort to use my existing stamps, I pulled out a few retired Stampin’ Up! sets- Dove of Peace and the simple stamp, Magical Season.

I am also participating with the Addicted to Stamps and More #419 “Any Occasion” Challenge, the Double Trouble #98 “Something, Anything, Everything” Challenge and the Simon Says Wednesday “Happy Holidays/Christmas” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit The Card Concept, or the other challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the Dove of Peace image with Versamark™ ink onto the prepared panel, apply Ultra Fine Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once cooled, fussy-cut the dove image and set aside.

Emboss another piece of white cardstock with the retired Finial Press (SU!) embossing folder (I had this panel already embossed in my stash).

Add a strip of silver ribbon, wrapping the ends behind the panel.  Add another strip of gold ribbon, again wrapping the ends behind the panel (both of these ribbons were in my stash, so thankful to use just a bit of that stash).

Adhere the panel onto a white card base.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the Magical Season image with Versamark™ ink onto the prepared panel, apply Ultra Fine Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once cooled, die cut and emboss the sentiment image with the intricate rectangle die.

Mount the dove image along with the sentiment onto the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Dove of Peace, Magical Season (both retired Stampin’ Up!)

Ink/Mediums:  Versamark™

Cardstock/Paper:  Whisper White

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr.™,  Finial Press Embossing Folder (retired Stampin’ Up!), Embossing Powder Tool, Ultra Fine Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Spellbinders Timeless Rectangle Dies

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- I hope you have been inspired to join us at The Card Concept! The challenge gallery will be open until 12 noon EST Monday, December 13th  - we are looking forward to seeing your artwork in our gallery!

Dove of Peace- Another Sneak Peek :-)

Hi Again Friends!

This card was created using the Splitcoaststampers’ CC545 Color Challenge (minus the “dessert” of the butterfly) using the Tis' the Season TTS49 Sketch Challenge (flipped the sketch).

This is also another design for the Splitcoaststampers' CCC15 Christmas Card Challenge (this challenge is for your own goals to create Christmas cards all year long-love this incentive!) :-)

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites yet, again, I would encourage you to do so- fabulous Design Team samples and inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Use the Embossing Buddy® to de-static a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, ink the Dove of Peace image using Versamark™ Ink (only inking the dove at this time) and stamp onto the prepared piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.

Apply Stampin’ Emboss® Gold Embossing Powder and use the Heat Tool to heat set the powder.

Carefully cut out the dove around the embossed outline (“fussy-cut”) and mount using Stampin’ Dimensionals® onto a square of Brushed Gold cardstock.

Repeat the embossing steps above for the sentiment portion of the Dove of Peace stamp set, trim around the sentiment and set aside.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, trim the panel and add the 5/8” Gold Satin Ribbon bow.

Mount the embossed panel with the bow onto a piece of Brushed Gold cardstock, trim and adhere to the Very Vanilla card base.

Mount the focal image panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and  add the sentiment to the card front.

Add a few Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Dove of Peace

Ink: Versamark™

Paper/Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, retired Brushed Gold

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, 5/8” Gold Satin Ribbon, Pearls

Dove of Peace with All Ye Faithful :-)

Hi Stampers!

Woohoo!   My new Holiday Mini pre-order arrived late last week and I finally had a chance to play :-)

This card was created with Dove of Peace and All Ye Faithful stamp sets using the Pals Paper Arts PPA263 Color Challenge, the Just Add Ink JAI275 SketchChallenge and the Splitcoaststampers’ CCC15 Christmas Challenge.

This new dove image reminds me of cloisonne jewelry and I thought that the PPA263 Color Challenge was a perfect combination for a festive dove :-)

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites yet, again, I would encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this Mixed Media card:

Use the Big Shot™ with the Boho Chic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock, trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock,  trim again and mount onto the Rich Razzleberry card base.

Use the AquaPainter™ to apply Frost White Shimmer Paint (mixed with rubbing alcohol) to the Pear Pizzazz panel and heat (carefully) with the Heat Tool to dry.

Stamp the sentiment using Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the Big Shot™ and the MFT Horizontal Stitched Strips die.

Mount the sentiment onto Rich Razzleberry cardstock, trim and adhere to the card front.
This was difficult to photograph with the shine on the Dove and background :-)

De-static a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Embossing Buddy®, stamp the dove image only from Dove of Peace with Versamark™ Ink, apply Stampin’ Emboss® White Embossing Powder and use the Heat Tool to heat set.

Use Stampin’ Write markers- Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise and Pear Pizzazz to color the dove and when finished, wipe the excess ink off of the embossed areas with a slightly damp paper towel.

Carefully cut out the dove, de-static with the Embossing Buddy®, apply Stampin' Emboss® Clear Embossing  Powder, heat set and when cooled, mount onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add a few Rhinestones to the sentiment strip to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Dove of Peace, All Ye Faithful

Ink: Versamark™, Rich Razzleberry; Stampin’ Write Markers- Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise; Frost White Shimmer Paint

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, - Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Boho Chic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, MFT Horizontal Stitched Strip Die, AquaPainter™, Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® White and Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Rhinestones
