A Retro Card for a True Friend :-)

Hi Again, Stampers!!

I decided to create a card using the colors in this week’s DD50 Dynamic DuosChallenge along with a soon-to-be retired set, Printed Petals.  The flowers in this set seem a bit retro to me, so I decided to go with a more contemporary card :-)   A bit out of my comfort zone but that is what I love about weekly challenges :-)

Again, if you have a chance, stop by the Dynamic Duos site- they are starting their new Design Team rotation next week-can't wait to see the creations from the new team (they already provide so much inspiration)!

To create this card:

Using the Embossing Buddy® , de-static a piece of Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral and stamp the floral image using Versamark™ ink.  Apply Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool to melt the powder.  Once cooled, carefully cut out each flower and use the ¾” Circle Punch to punch out the center of each flower.

Use the 1” Circle punch to punch out two circles from Blushing Bride and one from Calypso Coral cardstock.  Adhere the floral center circles onto the cardstock circles to form the flower centers and mount onto each flower.

Another view to try to photograph the Rhinestones :-)
Use the Big Shot™ along with the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Calypso Coral and a piece of Blushing Bride Designer Series Paper.  Mount both onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and add the ½” Basic Black cardstock strip to hide the seam between the two.

Cut the horizontal strips from Basic Black cardstock they are approx. an inch wide and add the ½” wide panel of Blushing Bride on one strip and Calypso Coral on the other two.  Emboss these strips using the Big Shot™ with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Adhere the horizontal strips to the card front and add the flowers using Glue Dots™.
Add the sentiment layer and Rhinestones around the floral centers and at the edge of the sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Printed Petals, Simple Friendship (MDS)

Ink: Versamark™, Printer Ink- Black

Paper: Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Basic Black, Whisper White, Blushing Bride DSP (retired)

AccessoriesEmbossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Big Shot™, Elegant Lines and Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, Punches- ¾” Circle, 1” Circle, Small Oval, Modern Label; Rhinestones

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you like this retro style card!!  Have a great Thursday!!

10 Minute CAS Card- Color Challenge plus a Sketch!

Hi again Stampers!

I wanted to participate in a few challenges and chose to create a card using this week's CTS#14 CAS(E) this Sketch! and the colors from this week's CCMC238 Create with Connie and Mary Challenge.  This is the first time I have been able to participate at the CAS(E) this Sketch! blog and if you have not visited either one of these sites yet, take a few minutes to check them out!!  Great ideas and so much inspiration!!

Clean and Simple (CAS) cards are a bit more difficult for me- not sure why because they should be simple, right?  They are quick to assemble once I decide on the design, but I always have to restrain myself from "overworking" them with sponging, distressing and embellishments :-)  I truly admire those who are so creative with the CAS style :-)

This card only took ten minutes to create since I was able to incorporate a few scraps that were already embossed- love being able to pull a card together using scraps :-)

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ with the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock and adhere this to a piece of Island Indigo.

Stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White with Island Indigo Classic Ink and adhere to the embossed Island Indigo strip (using the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder).

Ink the smooth side of the interior the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder with Calypso Coral Classic Ink and emboss a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock.  Punch out the flower using the Blossom Punch and add the stamped center created from the medium medallion stamp in Lacy & Lovely.

Add the Lucky Limeade leaves and pearl center to the flower to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Lacy & Lovely, Teeny Tiny Wishes

 Ink: Calypso Coral, Island Indigo

Paper:  Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Island Indigo

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders- Elegant Lines, Fancy Fan, Lacy Brocade; Punches- Bird Builder, 1 ¼” Circle, 1 3/8” Circle, Blossom; Pearl

Thanks again for visiting- have a wonderful week crafting and loving your Valentine!

Springtime Vintage- Two in One!

Hi Stampers!

Spring is definitely here this week on the East Coast and the gorgeous PP86 Spring Color Challenge from The Paper Players is perfect for this time of year!

I decided to use the color combination along with the SSC246 sketch from Stamping411.   As always, the gals at both sites have created such beautiful projects- such inspiration!  Hopefully you will have the time to visit each of their sites:-)

Actually this card has very little stamping, four embossing folders and six punches- fairly quick to create once the rolled flowers were made.

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and a piece of Everyday Enchantment DSP.  On the embossed Crumb Cake layer, emboss again using the Decorative Oval Frame.  Carefully cut out the Oval Frame (use the part of the background layer that will not show on the card).

Emboss a piece of Very Vanilla with the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder- punch out a piece with the  XL Oval Punch  and trim another piece for the central panel.  Add the Victoria Lace border with Sticky Strip at the bottom (ruffling the lace as you adhere it to the back).   Layer entire panel onto a piece of Lucky Limeade, add the ½” Crumb Cake Seam Binding and the rows of Pearls.

Emboss a piece of Wisteria Wonder with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.  Create the background layers, add the additional ½” Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon with Antique Brad, Tiny Tags and Rolled Flowers.

Stamp Sets:  Tiny Tags

Ink: Lucky Limeade and Wisteria Wonder

Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, Everyday Enchantment DSP, Very Vanilla

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders- Elegant Lines, Perfect Polka Dots, Square Lattice and Decorative Frame- Oval, Punches- 1 3/8” Circle, 1 ½” Circle, Scallop Trim, XL Oval, Jewelry Tag, Bird Builder, ½” Crumb Cake Seam Binding, Antique Brad, Pearls

Thanks again for visiting- all of you are such an encouragement to me!

Love You- Two in One!

Hi Stampers!

“Love is in the Air” with Valentine’s Day approaching and I thought I would take the time to create at least one Valentine’s Day card (although this may be a bit feminine for my husband).

I decided to use the Friday Mashup FM42colors (I love the colors that Rita chose but I have not mastered paper piercing yet to "Mash It Up" :-) along with the great FMS18 Freshly Made Sketch from Linda.  Both sites have terrific designers and the samples are just gorgeous!  If you have the time, check them out!

Using Versamark™ ink, stamp the floral image and the sentiment from Creative Elements onto Blushing Bride and Riding Hood Red cardstock.  Heat emboss using Stampin’ Emboss® Brown Embossing Powder (retired from SU! years ago- I need to use all of these colors up since I just read that embossing powder does have a shelf life).

Once cooled, carefully cut out the flowers and mount onto a panel of Blushing Bride that has been stamped with the scroll image from Creative Elements (I just love this stamp set!).

Use the Big Shot™ with the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions™ Folder and emboss a piece of Early Espresso Cardstock (I love embossed Early Espresso cardstock- it looks like dark chocolate:-)).

Assemble the card according to the sketch and add the pearls to finish.

Stamp Sets:  Creative Elements

 Ink: Versamark™

Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Riding Hood Red, Early Espresso

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Elegant Lines Textured Impressions™ FolderHeat Tool, Stampin’ Emboss® Brown  Embossing Powder (retired), Pearls, 5/8” Early Espresso Satin  Ribbon (retired)

Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you can “play” along with some of the weekly challenges this week!

Another Anniversary Card- Sketch, Color and Die Cut Challenge!

Hi Stampers!

I always seem to be in need of Anniversary cards so I decided to create a Clean and Simple card (CAS) using this week’s  SSC224 sketch from Stamping411, colors from the Paper Pals PPA114 Celebrity Color Challenge and since it has a die cut, it also qualifies for the Just Add Ink JAI88 “Just Add A Die Cut” Challenge.

Again, if you have time to "surf", check out their sites- the Design Teams and entries will provide great inspiration!

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ along with the Flower Burst Embosslits™ die to cut three flowers from Pumpkin Pie Designer Series Paper.

Lightly sand with the Sanding Block to expose the white core and mount onto three pieces of Lucky Limeade (embossed with the Snowburst Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and punched with the Decorative Label Punch).

Also, while you are working with the Big Shot™, emboss a piece of Whisper White with the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Assemble the layers on the Rich Razzleberry cardfront with a strip of Pumpkin Pie DSP at the top, the embossed Whisper White panel at the bottom and a piece of 5/8” Rich Razzleberry Satin Ribbon to cover the pieced edge.

Attach the 5/8” Rich Razzleberry Satin Ribbon bow, sentiment and pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Teeny Tiny Wishes

 Ink: Rich Razzleberry

Cardstock:  Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Pumpkin Pie DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Flower Burst Emblossits™ Die, Elegant Lines  adn Snowburst Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Sanding Block, 5/8” Rich Razzleberry Satin Ribbon, Decorative Label, Word Window and Modern Label Punches, Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by and encouraging me- have a great week!

Get Well Wishes - Another Clean and Simple Card

Hi Stampers!

I decided to create another Clean and Simple (CAS) card using this week’s PP56 Sketch from The Paper Players along with the colors from the Splitcoast Stampers CC333 Island Tango Delight (the center of the little flowers is the only Daffodil Delight used on the card) and since this card is a Get Well card, it also qualifies for the SUO24 Get WellWishes Challenge

To create this card:

Using SU! markers in Tango Tangerine, Island Indigo and Daffodil Delight color the Triple Treat Flower image, “huff” on the stamp to re-moisten the ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Punch the flower image out with the XL Fancy Flower Punch and mount onto an embossed piece of Tangerine Tango (here I used a scrap that had already been embossed with the Square Lattice EF).

Emboss a piece of Island Indigo with the Elegant Lines EF, trim and assemble the panels.  Add the sentiment and 5/8” White Satin Ribbon to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Triple Treat Flower, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Island Indigo, SU! Markers- Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango
Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Lattice and Elegant Lines EF, 5/8” White Satin Ribbon, Punches- XL Fancy Flower, 1 3/8” Circle

Thanks again for visiting- I hope all of you have a great time stamping this weekend!

Button, Button- Set Sampler

Hi Stampers!

Boy, has it been a busy month for me!  I can now finally share with you the set sampler that I have been working on using the new set Button, Button from the Occasions Mini catalog.

I am part of Cindy Foder's downline and at our last quarterly meeting, she asked me if I would be willing to stamp the card fronts for the set samplers that are rewarded to the top demonstrators.   It is her custom to ask for a volunteer to stamp the set samplers and she needed 8 card fronts (4 sets of 2) with the first set consisting of 15 cards each,  second set of 9, third set of 7 and last set of 6 (a total of 54 card fronts).   Each set should have a few more embellishments or techniques than the last and she wanted to highlight the new stamp set from the Occasions Mini "Button, Button".

Set #1- Get Well Wishes and Just for You-
Button #1The first card has the floral button heat embossed with Black EP onto Whisper White.  Punch out the button with the 1” Circle Punch and layer onto the flower from Daffodil Delight (punched with the Scallop Punch and embossed with the Big Shot and the Square Lattice EF).  Add the pearl to cover the buttonhole.  The sentiment is stamped using Teeny Tiny Wishes in Basic Black and punched with the Curly Label XL Punch.  The background layers are Basic Black and Whisper White embossed with the Big Shot and the Square Lattice EF.  Layer all onto Daffodil Delight to finish off the card.
Button #2

The second card utilizes one of my favorite techniques, Emboss Resist with Cherry Cobbler and Chocolate Chip ink. The sentiment is from the Hostess Level III Occasional Quotes set and the Pinking Heart Border Punch and Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding finish were used to off the card.

Set #2 –Welcome Baby and Someone Cares-
Button #3For the Welcome Baby card, emboss the Garden Green background with the Big Shot and the Vintage Wallpaper EF.  After stamping the Whisper White cardstock with the multiple button stamps in Garden Green, Marina Mist and Melon Mambo and sentiment from Curvy Verses in Garden Green,   punch the edge with the Pinking Heart Border Punch and run the entire piece through the Crimper Tool.  Attach the 5/8” Marina Mist Satin Ribbon to complete the card.

Button #4For the Someone Cares card, ink the inside of the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder with Concord Crush before embossing the Peach Parfait cardstock.  Combine this with the Whisper White Square Lattice EF and Concord Crush punched with the Eyelet Border Punch.  Stamp the sentiment from the Hostess Level II set Occasional Quotes in Concord Crush onto Whisper White, punch out with the Decorative XL Label Punch and layer with Concord Crush.

Button #5Set #3–Thinking of You and Happy Birthday-
The Thinking of You card incorporates a technique called “Embedded Embossing.”  The buttons from Button, Button are randomly stamped in Real Red, Pink Pirouette and Certainly Celery onto Whisper White and punched out with the 1” circle punch.  Using the Fancy Flower XL Punch with Pink Pirouette cardstock for the flower and punch the  leaves from Certainly Celery using the 5-Petal Flower XL Punch (cut in half).
Adhere the leaves, flower and flower center to the Real Red layer and run the entire piece through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice EF.   Add Dazzling Diamonds with the Two-Way Glue Pen after the dry embossing.  Use the Big Shot with the Elegant Lines EF with a piece of Pink Pirouette, mount this onto a Real Red layer.  Mount the floral focal piece onto Whisper White and stamp the sentiment from Curly Cute in Real Red.  Punch the edge with the Eyelet Border, attach the 1/4” Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon and Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Button #6The Happy Birthday card’s focal image was created with the Emboss Resist technique on Whisper White with Baja Breeze, Marina Mist, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry and Tangerine Tango Classic Ink.  Once the embossing layers are completed, run the entire piece through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice EF.
Mount the focal image onto Whisper White and Rich Razzleberry.  Add the 5/8” Rich Razzleberry Satin Ribbon to a larger piece of Whisper White and mount the focal image.  Stamp the sentiment from A Word for You in Rich Razzleberry and punch the edge with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.  Adhere the Rhinestones and mount the entire layer onto an embossed piece of Basic Black using the Big Shot with the herringbone pattern plate from the Textured Backgrounds I set.

Button #7Set #4–Thank You and With Sympathy-

The Thank You card is Heat Embossed with Gold EP on Early Espresso cardstock.  Mount onto a layer of Crumb Cake embossed with the Square Lattice EF and attach the 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon and Antique Brad.

Button #8The With Sympathy card uses Emboss Resist on the Newsprint DSP with Clear EP and sponged with Early Espresso and Basic Black Classic Ink.  Emboss the Very Vanilla cardstock using the Finial Press EF with the Big Shot along with the background piece of Basic Black (hard to see in the photo).  Sponge the reverse side of the embossing on the Very Vanilla layer to highlight the de-bossed area and punch the edges using the Eyelet Border Punch.  Finish off with  1 1/4” Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, pearls, sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and the Modern Label Punch.

It was my honor to be able to create these cards for my "sister" demonstrators!  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask and I love reading all of your comments.  Have a great week stamping and I hope I have been able to motivate you to try something new this week!

Thank You – Two Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!

I created this card using this fantastic cake inspiration photo from this week's Create with Connie and Mary(http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com) Thursday Challenge CCMC129 - check out the Design Team's cards along with the other entries- they are truly gorgeous!

I also used the unique sketch challenge from Stamping 411 with the Operators SSC182 (http://www.stamping411.blogspot.com/).  Again, this site has so many wonderful designers on their Design Team plus the great submissions- what a wonderful place to visit each week!

To create this card:

Using the Big Shot and the Elegant Lines EF, emboss a piece of Whisper White and spray with Frost White Shimmer Paint.

Emboss a piece of Marina Mist with the Vintage Wallpaper EF and using the “debossed” side, sponge on Whisper White craft ink. Round off the edges with the Corner Rounder Punch.  Attach the 5/8” Whisper White Satin Ribbon.

Cut a piece of striped Bashful Blue DSP and round off the edges with the Corner Rounder Punch.  Stamp the floral image from Happiness Shared with Marina Mist ink on Whisper White (this image looks more like purple since I actually forgot to clean the stamp first and it had Cherry Cobbler ink from a previous card-oops!- so I repeated the Cherry Cobbler, stamp off numerous times, then Marina Mist for the thank you sentiment to match the ink:-)).

Using the Circle Cutter Plus, cut a 3” circle from Marina Mist, adhere the focal image and add a pearl in the center of the flower.

Finish the card off with the sentiment from Short & Sweet and punch out with the Word Window Punch.  Use the Modern Label Punch with Bashful Blue for the final layer.

Stamp Sets:  Happiness Shared
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Marina Mist, Bashful Blue
Ink: Marina Mist (mixed with Cherry Cobbler by mistake), Craft Whisper White
Accessories: Big Shot, Elegant Lines and Vintage Wallpaper EF, Bashful Blue DSP,  Corner Rounder, Word Window and Modern Label Punches,  Circle Cutter Plus, 5/8” Whisper White Satin Ribbon, Pearls, Frost White Shimmer Paint

Thanks again for stopping by and I hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas week!

PP19 and SSC172- Two Challenges in One!

Hi Again, Stampers!

I needed another sympathy card so I decided to incorporate two challenges– The Paper Players PP19- Jaydee’s Color Challenge (see
http://www.thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/ ) along with the sketch challenge from Stamping411 with the Operators #SSC172 (see http://www.stamping411.blogspot.com/).

I decided to use one of the new Hostess Level II sets- Fast & Fabulous to create the focal image.

I stamped the large floral image in Basic Black on Whisper White and used a Blender Pen with  Real Red ink to fill in the flowers.

Sponge Daubers and the Color Spritzer Tool with Basic Black were used to distress the image.

The Real Red layer was embossed with the new Elegant Lines EF and a few pearls, Frost White Shimmer Paint and 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon finished off the card (the Shimmer Paint did not photograph well).

Stamp Sets:  Fast & Fabulous, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red
Accessories: Big Shot, Elegant Lines EF, 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Modern Label Punch, Frost White Shimmer Paint Mist, Pearls, Sponge Dauber, Color Spritzer Tool, Dimensionals

This is a quick easy card- I hope you like it!

CAS85 Upsy Daisy

While I had the Upsy Daisy set out, I decided to create a couple of cards using the fall colors for the Clean and Simple (CAS) Challenge from Splitcoast (see http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=all&si=CAS85&what=keywords for their gallery submissions) along with the new SUO Challenge #2 Big Shot (see http://suochallenges.com/?p=36).

The first card uses the emboss resist technique along with sponge daubers with Early Espresso, Riding Hood Red and Tangerine Tango.

Stamp Sets:  Upsy Daisy, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Ink: Early Espresso, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango
Accessories:  Big Shot, Finial Press EF, Sponge Daubers, Word Window and Modern Label Punch, 5-in-1 Distressing Tool, Color Spritzer Tool, Early Espresso Marker, 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon.

The second card uses the same set but instead of emboss resist, I punched the Very Vanilla circle out with the new 2 ½” XL Circle punch, sponged the colors with the sponge daubers and then stamped the Upsy Daisy in Early Espresso.

I used the new embossing folder, Elegant Lines, and half of a previously embossed Top Note die cut and some more of that luscious Early Espresso Satin Ribbon.

Stamp Sets:  Upsy Daisy,  Heard From The Heart
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Ink: Early Espresso, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango
Accessories:  Big Shot, Elegant Lines and Square Lattice EF, Sponge Daubers, Color Spritzer Tool, Early Espresso Marker, 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon.

Thanks again for visiting!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope all of you are able to take time to have some fun stamping- it is so therapeutic!
