Happiness Shared- A Sketch and Color Challenge

Hi Stampers!

I just love the PPA111 sketch this week at Pals Paper Arts and decided to combine it with the CQC102ColourQ Challenge. The designers and submissions at both site are fabulous- again, if you have the time, check them out and leave them some stamping “love”!

Once I decided on the design, this was a quick, easy card and can you believe it, I did not use an embossing folder (although I still had to use my Big Shot™- I cannot make a card without it now :-))?

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ along with the Bigz™ Top Note Die to cut a piece of Whisper White  and Basic Gray cardstock.  Cut both shapes in half and trim the edge off the Whisper White piece and sand the rough edges with the Sanding Block.

Ink the blossom stamp from Happiness Shared with Basic Gray Classic Ink and stamp the image onto the Top Note shape.  Color with Stampin’ Write Markers in Certainly Celery and Poppy Parade.  Use the Color Spritzer Tool with the Basic Gray marker to spritz the image.

Ink the Hello, Doily background stamp with Tempting Turquoise and stamp onto a piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock.  Layer with the Top Note focal image, adhere the 5/8” satin ribbon bow and mount onto Whisper White and again onto Basic Gray.

Stamp the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Basic Gray, punch out with the Word Window Punch and mount onto a piece of Basic Gray punched with the Modern Label Punch.

Add the Pearls and spritz again with the Color Spritzer Tool and Basic Gray Stampin’ Write Marker to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Happiness Shared, Hello, Doily, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Basic Gray, Stampin’ Write Markers- Basic Gray, Certainly Celery, Poppy Parade
Cardstock:  Basic Gray, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Accessories:  Big Shot™, Bigz™ Top Note Die, Color Spritzer Tool, Word Window and Modern Label Punch, Pearls, Satin Ribbon (from my stash)

Thanks again for stopping by and blessing my life!

Another Sympathy Card

Hi Stampers!
I decided to create a card with the colors from this week’s Pals Paper Arts PPA88 Celebrity Color Challenge (see http://www.palspaperarts.com/) and the sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary (see http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com/ ).  I love all of the Design Team projects along with the other entries- again, if you ever need inspiration, the weekly challenges are wonderful!
To create this card:
Stamp the floral image from Happiness Shared in Basic Black onto Whisper White.  Color the image using SU! markers in Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz.
Mount onto Pear Pizzazz and punch the edge with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.
Use the Big Shot to emboss a piece of Crumb Cake DSP with the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder.  Lightly sand with the Sanding Block to expose the white core.
Attach the 5/8” Daffodil Delight ribbon, adhere the focal image and attach the bow.  Add the pearls and the sentiment to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets:  Happiness Shared, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Basic Black
Cardstock: Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake DSP
Accessories:  Big Shot, Framed Tulips EF, Sanding Block, Pearls, 5/8” Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon, Scallop Trim Border, Modern Label and Word Window Punch, SU! Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz Markers

Thank You – Two Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!

I created this card using this fantastic cake inspiration photo from this week's Create with Connie and Mary(http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com) Thursday Challenge CCMC129 - check out the Design Team's cards along with the other entries- they are truly gorgeous!

I also used the unique sketch challenge from Stamping 411 with the Operators SSC182 (http://www.stamping411.blogspot.com/).  Again, this site has so many wonderful designers on their Design Team plus the great submissions- what a wonderful place to visit each week!

To create this card:

Using the Big Shot and the Elegant Lines EF, emboss a piece of Whisper White and spray with Frost White Shimmer Paint.

Emboss a piece of Marina Mist with the Vintage Wallpaper EF and using the “debossed” side, sponge on Whisper White craft ink. Round off the edges with the Corner Rounder Punch.  Attach the 5/8” Whisper White Satin Ribbon.

Cut a piece of striped Bashful Blue DSP and round off the edges with the Corner Rounder Punch.  Stamp the floral image from Happiness Shared with Marina Mist ink on Whisper White (this image looks more like purple since I actually forgot to clean the stamp first and it had Cherry Cobbler ink from a previous card-oops!- so I repeated the Cherry Cobbler, stamp off numerous times, then Marina Mist for the thank you sentiment to match the ink:-)).

Using the Circle Cutter Plus, cut a 3” circle from Marina Mist, adhere the focal image and add a pearl in the center of the flower.

Finish the card off with the sentiment from Short & Sweet and punch out with the Word Window Punch.  Use the Modern Label Punch with Bashful Blue for the final layer.

Stamp Sets:  Happiness Shared
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Marina Mist, Bashful Blue
Ink: Marina Mist (mixed with Cherry Cobbler by mistake), Craft Whisper White
Accessories: Big Shot, Elegant Lines and Vintage Wallpaper EF, Bashful Blue DSP,  Corner Rounder, Word Window and Modern Label Punches,  Circle Cutter Plus, 5/8” Whisper White Satin Ribbon, Pearls, Frost White Shimmer Paint

Thanks again for stopping by and I hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas week!

With Sympathy- PPA70 and CC298 Challenges

Hi Stampers!

I created this card using the wonderful sketch for this week’s Pals Paper Arts PPA70 Challenge (see http://www.palspaperarts.com/) and the colors from Splitcoast Stampers CC298 Color Combination (see http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/color-combinations-f43/cc298-chocolate-cherry-crumb-cake-t512941.html).

To create this card:

Stamp the background stamp Bella Toile with Cherry Cobbler ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock.  Using the 1 ¼” square punch, punch out nine squares and sponge Chocolate Chip ink onto the edges of each square.  Using the Color Spritzer Tool with a Chocolate Chip marker, spritz over the squares and mount onto Whisper White leaving a space around all of the squares.

Using the Big Shot, cut out an oval from Crumb Cake cardstock and Whisper White cardstock.  Using the second to the largest oval from the Crumb Cake cardstock, stamp the floral image from Happiness Shared in Cherry Cobbler ink.  Color and highlight part of the floral image with the SU! White Gel Pen.  Sponge the edges with Chocolate Chip and spritz using the Color Spritzer Tool and Chocolate Chip marker.

Using the Ornament Punch, punch out four ornaments from Cherry Cobbler.  Using the Big Shot with the Finial Press Embossing Folder, emboss the four Cherry Cobbler ornaments, large Whisper White oval die cut, and the nine square panel.

Layer the nine square panel onto Cherry Cobbler cardstock, trim close to the edges.  Using the Scallop Trim Border Punch, punch along the edge of another piece of Whisper White cardstock and adhere below the nine square panel- trim to match. Attach the Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon bow over the seam and stamp the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler.

Layer two of the Cherry Cobbler ornaments on top of the Large Oval and two behind the Large Oval.  Adhere the floral image oval in the center- attach this entire assembly in the middle of the nine square panel.

Add pearls to finish off the scallop trim edge and center of the floral image.

Stamp Sets:  Bella Toile Background, Happiness Shared, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Big Shot, Finial Press EF, Ovals Die, Sponge Dauber, Color Spritzer tool, SU! Chocolate Chip Marker,  1 ¼” Square Punch, Ornament Punch,  15/16” Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon (retired), Pearls

Thanks again for visiting and blessing my day- have a great week!

CCMC120 Color Challenge- Two Cards, One Challenge!

Hi Stampers!

I created two cards for the Create with Connie and Mary CCMC120 Color Challenge this week (http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com),

Both cards are quick and easy and utilized a few scraps that I had from previous projects. The first card uses a masking technique with Sponge Daubers to create the scene prior to stamping the tree images.

Stamp Sets:  Lovely As A Tree, French Foliage, Short & Sweet
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper EF, Sponge Daubers, Color Spritzer Tool, SU! Elegant Eggplant Marker, 5/8” Pumpkin Pie Satin Ribbon, Antique Brads

The second card implements SU! Classic Ink Pads with a Blender Pen to watercolor the images.  Cut a few layering circles, add some ribbon and pearls and the card is finished!

Stamp Sets:  Fast & Fabulous (Hostess Level II), Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant
Ink: Elegant Eggplant
Accessories: Big Shot, Square Lattice EF, Blender Pens, 5/8” Pumpkin Pie Satin Ribbon, Pearls, Circle Cutter

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- have a great evening!

APP14 Clean and Simple

Hi Stampers!

I needed several cards and thought that the APP#14- Clean and Simple Challenge from The Paper Players would be an excellent chance to create some quick cards
(please see http://www.thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/  for more details).

The first card uses the new stamp set Happiness Shared with the sentiment from Thoughts & Prayers. I used Concord Crush Ink along with Marina Mist, Concord Crush and Whisper White Cardstock (embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper EF) and the bow is from the new 5/8” Marina Mist Satin Ribbon.

The second card also uses Marina Mist, but this time it is paired up with Early Espresso. I used a masking technique with Marina Mist Ink for the circle around the butterfly image (All A Flutter)- butterflies were stamped in Early Espresso. Used the Thinking of You stamp from Sincere Salutations and attached this to an Early Espresso layer punched from the new XL Decorative Label Punch. Finished off with the 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon.

The next two cards have a more masculine “feel”- I used one of my favorite sets- Lovely As A Tree along with sentiments from Teeny Tiny Wishes and Sincere Salutations.

The “Thinking of You” card has Pear Pizzazz Decorative Paper along with Whisper White (embossed with the Square Lattice EF) and Early Espresso. Finished off with Antique Copper Hodgepodge Hardware (retired) and a small piece of 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon.

The “With Sympathy” card uses River Rock, Basic Black and Whisper White. I embossed the River Rock layer with the Finial Press EF, punched the lower layer with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and again, that luscious 5/8” Black Satin Ribbon.

Thanks again for visiting and all of your encouragement! Have a blessed week!
