Vintage Framed Roses in Paris

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing this card on the Artistic Outpost blog and wanted to share it here with you as well :-)   

For this quick Mixed Media card, I chose to highlight a portion of the Roses in Paris background stamp and paired it with ODBD Custom Dies- Ovals Dies and Ornate Ovals as well as the Ephemera Essentials 6x6 Paper Pad (all are available from Our Daily Bread Designs). 

I also used the Splitcoaststampers’ CC631 Color Challenge and will be linking to the Word Art Wednesday #278-#279 Anything Goes Challenge and the Simon Says April 2017 "Work It Wednesday" Challenge.

To create this card:

1). On a piece of the kraft Ephemera Essentials 6x6 Paper, stencil brushed corduroy distress ink using a flourish stencil and stencil brush, trim the panel, mount onto a piece of black cardstock and lightly distress the edges with a distressing tool.

2). Add the strip of 1” black satin ribbon and mount the pleated red ribbon over the black ribbon (wrapping the edges behind the panel).

3). Mount the entire panel onto the white card base.

4). Die cut and emboss a piece of black cardstock using the Ornate Ovals Dies and set aside.

5). Ink the Roses in Paris background stamp with archival black ink onto white cardstock, heat set with a heat tool and water color using watercolor pencils, water soluble graphit pencils and water based markers.  Die cut and emboss with the Ovals Dies and adhere to the center of the Ornate Ovals die cut created in step 4.

6). Add the layered focal image frame to the card front with dimensional foam, apply a clear glitter pen to the rose petals to add shimmer and pearls to the corners to finish off the card.

This card was quick to create and I think would work well for a variety of occasions, don't you? You could send it as is or add a sentiment at a later date but I love the versatility of the Roses in Paris background stamp!

A Friend Loves At All Times

I hope all of you are having a great week so far!  Today I am sharing a card that I designed using the Our Daily Bread Designs July 2016 Release stamp set, A True Friend along with the new Ornate Ovals Dies, Layered Lacey Ovals Dies and the previously released Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies.

A True Friend

I just love this iris image along with all of the sentiments in this stamp set, don’t you?

I decided to create a Mixed Media card using the iris and sentiment images from ATrue Friend and will be linking to Word Art Wednesday #240/#241 “Anything Goes”Challenge.

To create this card:

Using the Vintage Flourish Pattern Die, emboss a piece of white cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of purple cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of green cardstock.

Cut a piece of whtie cardstock with the ODBD Ornate Oval Dies, add to the card front with dimensional foam, adhere the green satin ribbon (wrapping the edges behind the card front) before mounting the entire panel onto the white card base.

Using archival black ink, stamp the sentiment from A True Friend onto a piece of white cardstock, die cut with the ODBD Layered Lacy Ovals Dies and mount to the card front with dimensional foam.

Stamp the iris image from A True Friend with embossing ink onto a piece of white cardstock, emboss with white embossing powder and once the image has cooled, color with water-based markers.

Fussy-cut the iris image and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam as well.

Add the green satin triple ribbon bow with the purple button in the center to finish off the card.

ODBD July 2016 New Release

Hello Friends!

Welcome to the July 2016 Our Daily Bread Designs Release!!  I am so excited to announce that in addition to being on the Artistic Outpost Design Team (which is a division of Our Daily Bread Designs), I am now on the Our Daily Bread Design Team affectionately known as the “Breadbaskets”!   

This is an amazing Design Team and I am so thankful and honored to be able to create alongside these talented women :-)

Wow!  The ODBD July 2016 New Release has four gorgeous floral stamp sets along with three spectacular die sets- I absolutely love all of the images, plus my mother loved flowers, especially irises, so this release is near and dear to my heart :-)

 I know that you will not want to miss the inspiration from the rest of the Breadbaskets, plus we would love for you to hop along with us- see more details below :-)

My first card uses the You Bless Me stamp set along with the Layered Lacey Ovals Dies, Beautiful Borders Dies and the Soulful Stitches 6x6 Paper Collection.

I decided to stamp the image several times, watercolor with water-based markers, fussy-cut the flowers to layer with dimensional foam and added a few pearls to finish off the card.

My second card features the new Sweet As Perfume stamp set with the Ornate Ovals Dies, Beautiful Borders Dies along with the Heart and Soul 6x6 Paper Collection.

I pulled out my sewing machine to stitch the Heart and Soul paper to the card base with a zig-zag stitch, watercolored the flower image with water-based markers before fussy-cutting and layering onto the dies with dimensional foam.
