Happy Birthday!

Hi Friends!

This morning I am sharing a card designed with the June Stamp of the Month, Texture Tiles 2 along with previously released stamp sets, Special Blend and Choose Faith (all from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps).

I incorporated several online challenges into the design- the Splitcoaststampers SC696 Sketch Challenge (modified a bit with the #4 and #5 elements on the sketch) and the CC672 Color Challenge as well as the Simon Monday “Food and/ or Drink” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). De-static two pieces of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the stacked cup image from Special Blend  onto one of the panels and the “Happy Birthday” sentiment from Special Blend onto the other.

2). Die cut the stacked cup image with a stitched rectangle die and color the image using water-based markers.  Trim the sentiment by hand and mount both the sentiment and the cup image onto navy cardstock.  Die cut a piece of designer paper with the same stitched rectangle die and also mount onto navy cardstock.

3). To create the background panel- die cut a piece of white cardstock with a rectangle stitched die.  Press light pink ink onto a silicone craft mat, spritz with water and press the rectangle die cut into the ink.  Lift up , dry with a heat tool and repeat the process (if desired).  Ink the bold word images from Choose Faith (I used “GRACE” and “JOY”) with light pink ink and stamp repeatedly onto the panel.  Ink the brick wall image from Texture Tiles 2 with navy ink and stamp onto the background panel.  Mount the panel onto navy cardstock and mount again onto pear cardstock.  Adhere the panel to a white card base.

4). Mount the pear designer paper rectangle directly to the card front on an angle (per the sketch) and tilt the stacked cup image (again adhere directly to the card front).  Mount the portion of a white paper doily behind the sentiment and mount the sentiment with dimensional foam.

5).  Add a few buttons to the sentiment  and finish off the card with a clear glitter pen adding shimmer to the stacked cups and clear enamel drops to the dripping coffee.

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Petal Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, Night of Navy, Early Espresso; Tim Holtz® Worn Lipstick Distress Ink; Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen, Nuvo™ Morning Dew Crystal Drops

Phil 1:3 - I Thank My God Upon Every Remembrance of You

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing another card designed with the June Stamp of the Month, Texture Tiles II along with previously released stamp sets, Special Blend and Scripture & Sentiment Companions from  Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps!

I enjoy playing along with online challenges and incorporated the Splitcoaststampers(SCS) SC701 Sketch Challenge, the SCS CC685 Color Challenge and the Word ArtWednesday #338-#339 “Anything Goes” Challenge into the design.

Don't forget, you can receive the June Stamp of the Month, Texture Tiles II free with a $75 (net US $$ after all discounts) plus shipping is free on orders $75 and over!

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1).  Using archival black ink, stamp cup image from Special Blend  and the verse sentiment from Scripture & Sentiment Companions onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Once the embossing has cooled, die cut the cup image with a stitched oval die and hand trim the sentiment into a flag banner.

2). Die cut another oval from black cardstock (I used a die just a bit larger than the stitched oval) and mount the cup image onto the black oval. Color the image using distress ink and markers.  Add a bit of stenciling to the background with a chevron stencil.

3). Mount the scripture sentiment onto black cardstock and trim close to the edge.

4). Using the cracked line image from Texture Tiles II, stamp repeatedly onto a piece of white cardstock.  Tap a bit of distress oxide ink onto a clear envelope, spritz with water and place the cardstock into the ink, lift and repeat to finish the background.  Dry with a heat tool and die cut with a stitched rectangle die before mounting onto a die cut rectangle from black cardstock.

5). Die cut the designer paper rectangles with a rectangle die, mount onto black cardstock and trim close to the edge.  Mount onto the background panel (per the sketch), add the die cut oval with dimensional foam.  Add the sentiment (using dimensional foam on the far right side) and add the pink button. FYI- I used a small strip of black cardstock to mimic the thread for the button :-)

6). Use a glitter pen to add shimmer to stacked cup image and add a few sequins to finish off the card.

Clean and Simple- Special Blend

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a fun June so far!  I have been busy organizing my stamping area lately - sometimes I can get so caught up in the process that I lose track of time.  A bit like stamping, but if I do not make the organization a priority at time, I will not be able to find anything- lol!!

I did take some time out ot create a few cards and today I am sharing a quick card designed with the previously released stamp set, Special Blend from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps!  I love all of the fun images and sentiments in this set, don’t you? Perfect for coffee cards, encouragement, friendship, birthday and so many other occasions!

For this card, I decided to keep it Clean and Simple (CAS) and decided to incorporate the following challenges into the design: CAS Colours and Sketches #276 Sketch Challenge and the  CASOLOGY #304 Pearl Challenge (it is hard to see in the photo but the striped background paper has a pearlized finish as well as the pearls in the corners of the sentiment).
If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1).  Using archival black ink, stamp the cup and sentiment images from Special Blend onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Once the embossing has cooled, color the cup image with water-based markers and fussy-cut.

2). Die cut the sentiment with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto black cardstock and trim close to the edge.

3). Using a piece of pre-embossed designer paper, sponge distress ink over the non-embossed areas to create the striped background.  Trim and mount onto black cardstock, trim and mount onto the white card base.

4). Add the sentiment panel directly to the card front and mount the cup image with dimensional foam.

5). Use a glitter pen to add shimmer to cup image and add a few pearls to the corners of the sentiment to finish off the card.
