Beauty is God's Handwriting

Hi Friends!

I am still making an effort to create cards using some of my older stamp sets.

This Clean and Simple card combines three retired Stampin’ Up! sets- Natural Beauty, God’s Beauty and Botanicals.

This card was quick and easy to create- I heat embossed the butterfly image with clear embossing powder onto a white cardstock panel and once cooled, masked the image before stamping the text image and sentiment using water-based markers.  A water brush was used to blend a bit of the color and I used the remaining ink off the silicone mat to create a bit of splatter.

The text image was used on the base and the main image panel was mounted with dimensional foam.

I finished off the card using a clear glitter pen and white gel pen.

If you have not had a chance to stop by the above challenge sites, I encourage you to do so- fabulous galleries and inspiration from all!

Stamp Sets: Nature’s Beauty, God’s Beauty and Botanicals (all retired Stampin’ Up!)

Clean and Simple- Special Blend

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a fun June so far!  I have been busy organizing my stamping area lately - sometimes I can get so caught up in the process that I lose track of time.  A bit like stamping, but if I do not make the organization a priority at time, I will not be able to find anything- lol!!

I did take some time out ot create a few cards and today I am sharing a quick card designed with the previously released stamp set, Special Blend from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps!  I love all of the fun images and sentiments in this set, don’t you? Perfect for coffee cards, encouragement, friendship, birthday and so many other occasions!

For this card, I decided to keep it Clean and Simple (CAS) and decided to incorporate the following challenges into the design: CAS Colours and Sketches #276 Sketch Challenge and the  CASOLOGY #304 Pearl Challenge (it is hard to see in the photo but the striped background paper has a pearlized finish as well as the pearls in the corners of the sentiment).
If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1).  Using archival black ink, stamp the cup and sentiment images from Special Blend onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Once the embossing has cooled, color the cup image with water-based markers and fussy-cut.

2). Die cut the sentiment with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto black cardstock and trim close to the edge.

3). Using a piece of pre-embossed designer paper, sponge distress ink over the non-embossed areas to create the striped background.  Trim and mount onto black cardstock, trim and mount onto the white card base.

4). Add the sentiment panel directly to the card front and mount the cup image with dimensional foam.

5). Use a glitter pen to add shimmer to cup image and add a few pearls to the corners of the sentiment to finish off the card.

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz, Pretty in Pink; Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen

Cardstock/Designer Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black,  retired Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (all Stampin’ Up!)

Accessories/Tools: Big Shot™, MFT Stitched A2 Rectangle Set 1 Dies, Sponge Dauber, Embossing Buddy®, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Pearls

Thanks again for taking the time to visit! I hope all of you have a great week and stop by again soon!

Peace on Earth

Hi Friends!

This card was designed using the brand new Creative Worship Clear Stamp Set, Peace on Earth (designed by Krista Hamrick) available on pre-order from Sweet ‘nSassy Stamps

I love the images in this set- perfect for cards, Bible Art Journaling, home décor as well as scrapbooking and other crafts.

I incorporated the Freshly Made Sketches #304 Sketch Challenge (used scoring for the horizontal center layer- hard to see in the photo), the CAS Colours and Sketches #239 “Colors" Challenge and the Happy LittleStampers September Christmas "Anything Goes- optional twist Sparkle” Challenge into the design.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Ink the dove image from Peace on Earth with Versafine™ onyx black ink, stamp onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Once the embossing has cooled, watercolor the image using ink from markers (fresh fig, always artichoke and tangerine tango) along with a gray watercolor pencil for the dove’s feathers (use a water brush to dilute the pencil) and fussy-cut around the edges.  Once dry, apply shimmer to the dove with a clear glitter pen.  Add the fussy cut dove with dimensional foam onto a die cut circle from white cardstock and layer the white circle onto a circle die cut from fig cardstock.

2). On a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of white cardstock, score two lines at the top and bottom of the area for the horizontal panel in the sketch (hard to see in the photo).  Ink the "Peace" along with the "on earth" sentiments and star image from the Peace on Earth Clear Stamp Set with Versafine™ onyx black ink, stamp onto the panel, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with the heat tool.  Color the images with the same markers and apply shimmer to the letters and stars with a clear glitter pen.

3). Layer the scored background panel onto a piece of artichoke cardstock, trim and mount onto fig cardstock, trim and mount onto a white card base.  Add the fussy cut dove circle element with dimensional foam onto the card front.

4). Add the few embellishments with Nuvo™ Jewel Grey Mist drops to finish off the card.

The colors are a bit non-traditional for Christmas but I had fun creating this CAS Mixed Media card!

Stamp Sets:  Peace on Earth (Creative Worship from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)

All About You - You Are Amazing!

Hi Friends!

I am having so much fun this week designing with the new July release from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps and this card features the new stamp set, All About You (new release available on Friday, July 7th).

I wanted to create a quick Clean and Simple (CAS) card using the CAS(E) This Sketch #228 Sketch Challenge and the CAS Colours and Sketches #230 Colour Challenge.

Again, if you have not had a chance to visit the challenge sites or SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Ink the All About You sentiment using Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock., apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

2). Create a mask for the waves with either scrap paper or as I did with an old transparency sheet.  Use a sponge dauber to apply the lemon lime, island indigo and berry burst dye based ink. Once you have sponged the ink to the desired darkness, lightly spritz with water and heat set with the heat tool.

3). Trim the panel, mount onto a piece of black cardstock and adhere to the white card base.

4). Heat emboss the “Are Amazing” sentiment from All About You with white embossing powder onto a piece of black and heat set with the heat tool. Trim the sentiment and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

5). Add a few sequins to finish off the card.

Thanks again for stopping by!  Hugs and I hope all of you have a great week!

2). Color the flower with alcohol and water based markers, add clear shimmer with a clear glitter pen.

3). Fussy cut the flower image and set aside.

4). Trim a piece of white cardstock to approx.. 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the verse sentiment from Peaceful Peonies using archival black ink onto the panel, score two lines vertically for the sketch element, mount onto the black card front and adhere the entire panel onto the white card base.

5). Die cut a piece of designer paper with a stitched rectangle die and mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim close to the die cut.

CAS A Woman Who Fears the Lord

Hi Friends!

This card was designed using the CAS Colours and Sketches #169 Sketch Challenge (I flipped the sketch :-)) along with Kath's #63 Color Challenge at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and the Splitcoaststampers' CAS373 "It's About Birthdays" Challenge (this card is for one of the ladies in our Bible Study group).

I hope you will take the time to visit the above linked sites- so much inspiration!

To create this card:

Ink the butterflies from Papillon Potpourri, flower and branches from Choose Happiness using Versamark™ ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Color the butterflies with the Stampin’ Write So Saffron marker and punch out using the Elegant Butterfly Punch.

Color the branches with the Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write marker and the flowers with the Blushing Bride and Watermelon Wonder Stampin’ Write markersm fussy-cut the images and add white to the center with the Faber-Castell® Pitt Pen White Marker.

Using the Smakin’ Acetate technique, press the Blushing Bride Classic Ink pad against the acetate, spritz with water, lay a piece of Whisper White cardstock down into the ink and lift up the cardstock (pressing in the ink to remove from the acetate).

Ink the sentiment from the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD)  Scripture Collection 4 with Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink, stamp onto the background panel and add a few splatters with Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink using the splatter stamp from Timeless Textures.

Trim the panel, mount onto Watermelon Wonder cardstock, trim and mount onto Pear Pizzazz cardstock, trim and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Using the dot image from Timeless Textures, stamp with Watermelon Wonder onto the pieces of Watermelon Wonder cardstock, trim and mount onto Pear Pizzazz cardstock.

Adhere the layered Watermelon Wonder pieces to the card front per the sketch and mount the branches, flowers and butterflies.

Add the Pearls to the butterfly centers to finish off the card.

I know this does not appear as a “normal” birthday card but since the sentiment is not the traditional "Happy Birthday" that the recipient could display this throughout the year versus just for a few days :-)

Stamp Sets: Choose Happiness, Papillon Potpourri, Timeless Textures (Stampin’ Up!), Scripture Collection 4 (ODBD)

Ink: Versamark™, Watermelon Wonder; Stampin’ Write Markers- Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Watermelon Wonder; Faber-Castell® White Pitt Pen Marker
