All About You - You Are Amazing!

Hi Friends!

I am having so much fun this week designing with the new July release from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps and this card features the new stamp set, All About You (new release available on Friday, July 7th).

I wanted to create a quick Clean and Simple (CAS) card using the CAS(E) This Sketch #228 Sketch Challenge and the CAS Colours and Sketches #230 Colour Challenge.

Again, if you have not had a chance to visit the challenge sites or SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Ink the All About You sentiment using Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock., apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

2). Create a mask for the waves with either scrap paper or as I did with an old transparency sheet.  Use a sponge dauber to apply the lemon lime, island indigo and berry burst dye based ink. Once you have sponged the ink to the desired darkness, lightly spritz with water and heat set with the heat tool.

3). Trim the panel, mount onto a piece of black cardstock and adhere to the white card base.

4). Heat emboss the “Are Amazing” sentiment from All About You with white embossing powder onto a piece of black and heat set with the heat tool. Trim the sentiment and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

5). Add a few sequins to finish off the card.

Thanks again for stopping by!  Hugs and I hope all of you have a great week!

Thoughts of You- A CAS Winter Scene

Hi Friends!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  I had a chance to stamp a few cards this weekend and wanted to share a quick and easy card that I created using two Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamp Sets- Landscape Silhouettes and LongStem Silhouettes.

If you have not had a chance to check out the above challenge sites, I hope you will find the time to do so- gorgeous Design Team samples and inspiration from all!

This card was very easy to create:

Using Sponge Daubers, apply Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie and Midnight Muse Classic Ink to a piece of Whisper White cardstock to create the night sky.

Stamp the silhouette image from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Landscape Silhouettes onto the sponged sky using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink.
Using a paint brush with Titanium White Acrylic Paint, add a few stars to the sky.

Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment from Long Stem Silhouettes using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto the Basic Black card base.

Add the silhouette scene using dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Classic Ink- Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, retired Midnight Muse; Titanium Acrylic White Paint

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black

Accessories: Sponge Daubers, Paint Brush

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs and have a blessed day, my friends!

CAS Season of Change

Hi Friends!!

I hope you had a fantastic Monday!  Whenever I am designing a card, I tend to create a few “trial” pieces that as I mentioned in my last post, usually end up in a scrap bin or filed for a later date.

In an effort to "complete what I started" :-) , I decided to finish one of the panels that used the Pals Paper Arts PPA274 Color Challenge and also link this to the Addicted to Stamps and More #169 Clean and Simple  Challenge.

I hope you have a chance to visit the above sites and check out all of the wonderful inspiration!

To create this card:

Using Sponge Daubers, apply Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral and Chocolate Chip to the maple leaf from the retired Season of Change from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps (SNSS).

Stamp onto Whisper White cardstock, masking a few of the leaves as you continue stamping.

Ink the sentiment with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink and stamp along the edge of the panel.

Use the Stampin’ Write Chocolate Chip Marker with the Color Spritzer Tool to add a bit of “distressing” and stamp the bold splatter from Gorgeous Grunge with Crushed Curry Classic Ink (stamping off before stamping onto the panel).

Trim the panel and mount onto Calypso Coral cardstock , trim and mount onto the Chocolate Chip card base to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Season of Change (retired SNSS)

Ink:  Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip; Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write Marker

Paper: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Sponge Daubers, Color Spritzer Tool

Thanks again for stopping by- I will be sharing the new SUO Challenge shortly :-)  I hope all of you have a terrific Tuesday!

HYCCT1517 Acorny Ombré

Hi Again Friends!!

This card was created for the Splitcoaststampers Hope You Can Cling To  HYCCT1517 Lori’s “Light Days” Challenge (to create a card using the ombré technique) and I decided to also incorporate the Hand Stamped Sentiments HSSCS222 Color Challenge along with the Pals Paper Arts PPA272 Sketch Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to do so,  I hope you will take the time to visit the above galleries- wonderful inspiration from all!!

To create this quick and simple card:

Using Sponge Daubers create the ombré background from the retired Irresistibly Yours Designer Specialty Paper (DSP) by sponging the colors starting at the top with Hello Honey blending in the middle withTangelo Twist and at the bottom with Cajun Craze Classic Ink.

Wipe off the excess ink from the embossed areas on the DSP with a lightly damp paper towel.

***FYI- I also inked the retired Script background with the same colors and stamped over the panel but once I wiped off the ink with the lightly damp paper towel, it is difficult to see the background stamp in the photo.

Trim the background panel and mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Tangelo Twist card base.

Stamp the acorns with Crajun Craze Classic Ink and the acorn tops with Hello Honey rolled into Tangelo Twist onto Whisper White cardstock.  Use the Acorn Builder Punch to punch out all of the acorn pieces and adhere the pieces together.

Stamp the sentiment using Cajun Craze Classic Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Tangelo Twist cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Mount the sentiment panel to the card front and add the acorns using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Adhere a few Cajun Craze Candy Dots to the acorn tops finish off the card.

Quick, easy and fun!!

Stamp Sets:  Acorny Thank You, retired Script background

Ink: Cajun Craze, Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist

Paper: Whisper White, Tangelo Twist, Irresistibly Yours DSP

Accessories: Sponge Daubers, Acorn Builder Punch, Cajun Craze Candy Dots

JUN15VSNC You Are My Happy- A Tribute to My Husband :-)

Hi Stampers!

I received my order from the new catalog this week and could not wait to create something with the new stamp set, The Wilderness Awaits.

I love all of the realistic wildlife images in this set and thought it would be perfect for the Splitcoaststampers’ Virtual Stamp Night JUN15VSNC  “You Are My Happy” Challenge (see details here and gallery here).

In addition to only having one hour to complete your card, this challenge wanted us to let the person that receives this card to know why they are our "happy" :-)

I created this card for my husband…some of you are aware that he has been undergoing chemo treatments since November and I am so thankful for his love for the Lord, for me, the 32+ years we have spent together, his attitude of gratitude during this time of medical issues and the moments we get to share together- all of this is precious to me and he is "my happy" :-)

We both love nature and watching wildlife and even though we have never had the pleasure of seeing an elk in the wild, we are hoping one day to travel to some of the more Northern and Western State Parks and possibly see this majestic animal in their natural habitat.

I decided to incorporate the Splitcoaststampers’ CC533 Color Challenge as well (Basic Gray, Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral)- see details here and gallery here .

If you have not had a chance to do so, I hope you visit the linked sites to check out the marvelous inspiration by all!

To create this card:

Ink the elk image with Stāz-On® Jet Black ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Create a mask for the elk using a piece of scrap paper and also use a circle punch for the “moon”.

Place the elk mask onto the stamped image and position your “moon”.

Apply Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral to the sky area using Sponge Daubers and when satisfied with the sky, remove the masks.

Use the Stampin’ Write Basic Gray marker to color the elk image and add additional details with the Faber-Castell® XS Black Pitt Pen marker.

Add additional color to the sky area with the Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker and sponge the edges with Calypso Coral Classic Ink.

Emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock along with a scrap piece of Basic Gray cardstock with the Big Shot™ and Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Trim the embossed Whisper White panel, mount onto a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock, trim and mount onto the Basic Gray card base.

Use the Big Shot™ with the MFT Stitched Round Rectangle Die to cut out the focal image as well as a scrap piece of Whisper White and the embossed woodgrain scrap piece of Basic Gray cardstock.

I did add addtional detail to the elk with the Pitt Pen marker - close up of the details :-)
Stamp the sentiment using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto the embossed piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and create the banner points with the Hexagon Punch.

Line up the die cut stitching with the focal image panel and adhere the sentiment to the focal image.

Line up the embossed die cut piece of the Basic Gray cardstock with the die cut stitching of the focal image (you may need to trim a bit off the top of the scrap piece) and adhere to the focal image.

Mount the layered focal image onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add two pieces of retired Calypso Coral Stitched Satin Ribbon (from the SAB Sycamore Street Collection) to a retired Antique Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware clip and secure by tying Natural Linen Thread around the ribbon.

Add the clip to the card front with Mini Glue Dots® to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: The Wilderness Awaits
Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral; Stampin’ Write Markers- Basic Gray, Calypso Coral; Faber-Castell® XS Pitt Pen Black marker

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Basic Gray

Hi Stampers!

Here is the second card that I created using the CQC253 ColourQ Challenge along with the Mojo357 Sketch Challenge.

Hopefully you will have a chance to visit both challenge sites- so many wonderful Design Teams samples and entries!

To create this card:

Using the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge, ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock first using Summer Starfruit Classic Ink followed by Island Indigo Classic Ink and repeat again with Early Espresso Classic Ink.

Use a Sponge Dauber to apply Island Indigo and Early Espresso Classic Ink to the edges, trim and mount onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Tempting Turquoise card base.  Apply additional Early Espresso Classic Ink over the edges to tone down the Tempting Turquoise cardstock.

For the back panel per the sketch, cut a piece of Tempting Turquoise Designer Series Paper (DSP) and mount onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock.

Stamp the panel using the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Island Indigo Classic Ink and repeat again with Early Espresso Classic Ink.   Use a Sponge Dauber to apply Early Espresso Classic Ink to the edges and adhere to the card base.

Cut two pieces of the retired Soho Subway DSP and mount onto pieces of Early Espresso cardstock.   Sponge Early Espresso Classic Ink over the edges, stamp the Summer Starfruit panel using the Gorgeous Grunge splatter stamp using Early Espresso Classic Ink and add both pieces to the card front (again, per the sketch).

Adhere a piece of retired Soho Subway DSP onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock for the center strip.

Create the sentiment banner using Truly Grateful- stamp the sentiment with Early Espresso Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  Apply Island Indigo and Early Espresso Classic Ink using a Sponge Dauber, use the Hexagon Punch to create the banner points and mount onto Early Espresso cardstock (also creating the banner with the Hexagon Punch).

CC490 You Make the World a Better Place :-)

Hi Again Stampers!

This month, I have been invited to be one of the Guest Designers for the Splitcoaststampers’ Color Challenge :-)

I found the CC490 Challenge Colors to be delightful together- Coastal Cabana, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi...the challenge came in when you could have a flower on the card but it cannot be the focal image (nor can the sentiment be the focal image)...  I decided to add a map for the WT490 Ways to Use It Challenge as well :-)

Again, I hope you will find time to visit the gallery this week and possibly join in on the fun and create a card of your own!

To create this card (see the previous post for the 1st card):

Stamp the ship from Traveler onto Whisper White cardstock using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink.   Stamp another image onto a sticky note and mask the ship.

Use the 1 3/8” Circle Punch to punch out a circle from a piece of scrap paper and mask the area on a piece of Whisper White cardstock (with the circle cut out and over the ship area).

Use a Sponge Dauber with Daffodil Delight Classic Ink to color in the center of the masked circle, remove the mask and re-mask the “sun” using just the circle portion of the mask.

Create a mask for the horizon line (to mimic the ocean).   Keep the circle and ship masks in place and using a Sponge Dauber, apply Daffodil Delight Classic Ink to show the reflection of the sun, Coastal Cabana Classic Ink for the water around the ship and Cherry Cobbler for the reflection of the ship.

Use the Stampin’ Blendabililites™ Cherry Cobbler Collection to color the ship.   Re-mask the ship along with the sun and using Sponge Daubers, add Coastal Cabana along with Cherry Cobbler for the sky area.   Use a Sakura .005 Micron Pen to add additional water lines to the ocean portion.

Punch the image out using the Big Shot™ with the Circles Collection Framelits™ and cut an additional circle from Cherry Cobbler and Wild Wasabi cardstock.

Repeat the above masking and sponging steps for the globe image as well as the suitcase- coloring the globe using the Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Blendabilities™ Collection along with the Wild Wasabi Stampin’ Write marker and the suitcase with the Stampin’ Blendabilities™ Cherry Cobbler, Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight Collections along with the Crumb Cake and Wild Wasabi Stampin’ Write markers.
Use the Big Shot™ with the Ovals Collection Framelits™ to cut out the images and another oval from Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

Before mounting the images on the matching ovals, ink the World Map background using Memento™ Tuxedo Black ink – remask the ship, globe and suitcase images before stamping with the World Map.

Use a Sponge Dauber to apply Crumb Cake Classic Ink over the images to “antique” the Whisper White cardstock and apply Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink around the edges.

Mount the ship onto the Cherry Cobbler and Wild Wasabi circles (cut the circles in half to allow a bit to show outside of the ship image).   Mount the globe and suitcase images onto the ovals of Cherry Cobbler cardstock (cutting the ovals in half prior to mounting).

Stamp the World Map image using Memento™ Tuxedo Black ink onto Coastal Cabana cardstock and distress the edges using the Distressing Tool.  Apply Crumb Cake Classic Ink using a Sponge Dauber and mount onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock, trim and mount onto the Wild Wasabi card base.

Mount a piece of Wild Wasabi cardstock (previously embossed with the Big Shot™ and the retired Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder) onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  Add an additional strip of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and mount the strip onto the Coastal Cabana map background.

Add the ship, suitcase and globe images using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to the card front.

Ink the sentiment from Starburst Sayings using Coastal Cabana Classic Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.  Re-ink the same stamp using Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink and stamp again onto Whisper White cardstock.   Use the Big Shot™ with the Starburst Framelits™ Collection to cut out both sentiments- carefully trim the WORLD from the Coastal Cabana image.

Add the Daffodil Delight details on the sentiment using the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities™ marker and sponge additional Cherry Cobbler Classic ink along the edges.

Mount the Coastal Cabana “WORLD” image and add the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals™.

Add a few Daffodil Delight Candy Dots to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Traveler, World Map, Starburst Sayings
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wasabi, Memento™ Tuxedo Black, Sakura .005 Micron Pen

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wasabi

Accessories: Big Shot™,  Circles, Ovals and Starburst Framelit™ Collections, Sponge Daubers, Distressing Tool, scrap paper for masking, Candy Dots

Thanks again for visiting- have a fabulous evening and I hope you can join in on the challenges this week!

Serve the Lord- Two Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!

I had a chance to work in my craft room today and wanted to create a card using The Card Concept #15 Color Challenge along with the Our Daily Bread Designs ODBDSLC210 Sponging or Stenciling.   For the Card Concept, you have to choose the style and I think this card could be classified as Clean and Layered or Elegant.

I hope you will find the time to visit the both sites to see the gorgeous Design Team cards as well as a fabulous galleries of entries!

To create this card:
Using a Sponge Dauber with Coastal Cabana Classic Ink along with the Honeycomb stencil, gently sponge the ink in a diagonal pattern onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink over the stenciled area.

Stamp the floral image and crochet trim onto Whisper White cardstock.  Color the flowers using Stampin’ Blendabilities™ Coastal Cabana and Old Olive Collections,   Use a Stampin’ Write Sahara Sand marker to create a few shadows and Frost White Shimmer Paint for the background.

Hand cut around the lace edge of the floral image and use the Big Shot™ with the Crocheted Border Die.

Adhere the lace border onto the front of the card and add the 5/8” Basic Black Satin ribbon strip.

Mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock, trim and mount onto the Basic Black card base.

Add the floral image using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Serve the Lord (Our Daily Bread Designs)

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Coastal Cabana, Stampin’ Blendabilities™ Coastal Cabana and Old Olive Collections,  Stampin’ Write Sahara Sand marker

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Coastal Cabana
