He Lives- Wishing You A Blessed Easter

 

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing another quick Easter card designed with the Stamp Simply February Mini Release Stamp/Die Bundle set, He Lives along with other tools/supplies from Stamp Simply.

I enjoy playing along with online challenges and was inspired by the colors in The Spot #152 Inspiration Challenge .  I love this gorgeous inspiration photo with the oranges, greens and soft blues. 

I am also linking to one of my favorite challenges- the Word Art Wednesday #481/#482 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with embossing powder tool, stamp the daffodil image from the He Lives Bundle using a pigment black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing is cooled, use the coordinating dies from the He Lives Bundle to die cut the daffodil.  Watercolor the daffodil with water-based markers, and once dried, white accents with an extra fine white paint pen.

The background was created by smooshing distress oxide inks in the middle of an acetate envelope, spritzing a bit with water and pressing a piece of white cardstock into the ink.  Once you are satisfied with the color, dry with a heat tool.

De-static the lower right-hand corner and heat emboss the sentiment from the He Lives Bundle (using the same steps as above).

Add the die cut lace strip along with green seam binding (wrap the edges behind the panel) and adhere the panel onto a white card base.

Add the die cut daffodil image with dimensional foam (or chipboard) and finish off the card with a few rhinestones.

Welcome to The Card Concept #149 {Welcome Wee One} Challenge!

Look at this sweet nursery! There are so many items to inspire you- the curtains, rug, blanket, pictures on the wall, horse figurines, plant, ottoman along with all of the blues, corals, white and black.

I was inspired by the theme of baby (when I think of babies, I think of teddy bears:-)) as well as the corals and shades of blue to create a Shabby and Vintage card using some of my older stamp sets. 

I will also be linking this card to The Spot #150 “Birthday Themed Challenge”, the Simon Monday “Add Some Texture” Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #478-#480
“Anything Goes” Challenge.

To create this card:

Use the Stack ‘n Quilt Technique (see Splitcoaststampers for the tutorial), cut four pieces of designer paper into diagonal pieces, etc.  Layer the pieces onto a piece of white cardstock, trim and emboss with a quilt embossing folder.

Mount onto a piece of vanilla cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of blue cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of coral cardstock.

Use a distressing tool to distress the edges, add a piece of blue satin ribbon (wrapping the ends behind the panel) and mount onto a white card base.

Ink the bear image and the sentiment with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, stamp onto a piece of vanilla cardstock, apply clear embossing powder, heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, watercolor the images with water-based markers.

Die cut the bear image with a stitched circle die, mount onto a circle die cut from blue cardstock, mount onto another circle die cut from coral cardstock. 

Distress the edges and mount the circle element onto the card front with chipboard (or dimensional foam). 

Die cut the sentiment with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto blue cardstock and mount again onto coral cardstock (trimming the edges close to the die cut edge each time).

Distress the edges and finish off the card by adhering the sentiment to the card front using chipboard (or dimensional foam).

Farmhouse Valentine Folio Easel Card

 Hi Friends!

 We are focusing on Valentine cards this week on the Stamp Simply blog and today I am sharing a special “Valentine” that is an Anniversary card for my husband:-). 

My hubby and I are celebrating our 38th Anniversary today and I thought I would create a mini folio easel card.

There are several hinged layers on the front of the card that can be used for journaling, photos or "love notes".  

I incorporated the Splitcoaststampers SC417 Sketch into the layout (another one of my goals is to try to create a card for each of the over 800 Splitcoaststamper Sketch Challenges).  

I will also be participating with The Spot #144 “Showcase Your Best Work” along with the Try It On Tuesday “Uplifting or Positive Quote” Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #473-#474 “Anything Goes”Challenge.

As I create and design, I think about and pray for the recipient so this card is very special to me- it is a labor of love, so it is my best work :-)  

Not sure if the sentiment would be considered a "quote" for the Try It On Tuesday Challenge, but my hubby and I often say this to one another, even after all of this time! It is also uplifting to me to think back on the 38 years we have been together and all of the fabulous memories.  It sure has flown by fast and does not feel like it has been over half of our lives together, that's for sure:-) 

To create this card:

This card is a basic easel card- see a tutorial here at Splitcoaststampers for the design for the easel (I used the 4 ¼” x 11” version at the bottom of the tutorial).  The sentiment is on a belly band and when you remove it, you can access the flaps on the front of the card.

 I created the front flaps using black cardstock (adding 1/2" for the hinges to the length). 

I used a corner rounder for the corners and the flaps are covered with the Graphic 45 Farmhouse 8x8  paper along with plain vanilla cardstock. 

For the interior, I also used the Graphic 45 Farmhouse paper and used  Pearlescent Metallic Gold Cardstock was used for the die cut circle for the sentiment on the front. 

I love the soft metallic look to this metallic pearlescent cardstock plus it is 105# cardstock (very heavy) and has the metallic on both sides!  FYI- This is the first time I have used this cardstock and I am in love!

The heat embossed sentiment “You + Me = Forever” is from the Farmhouse Simple Sentiments- I absolutely love the fonts used on the entire farmhouse series at Stamp Simply!

The card was finished off using black rhinestones and ½” black seam binding.

Isn't the Graphic 45 Farmhouse paper gorgeous?  

I love all the cut-a-parts, borders, and patterns- we collect antique honey dishes and I know that the background is considered chicken wire, but it looks a bit like a honeycomb, right?

Floral Clusters- Winter Poinsettia Background

Today I am sharing another Christmas card designed with stamps and dies from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

I love the sweet poinsettia image from Winter Poinsettia as well as the beautiful fonts used for the sentiments in Christmas Peace, don’t you? 

I decided to create a monochromatic card and used the poinsettia image to create my own background “paper”.

d will be linking this card to the Tic-Tac-Toe #093 Challenge (middle row across- Red, Winter Holiday, Spotlight Technique) along with The Spot #140 "Over the Top Holiday Cards" and Simon Says Monday "Favorite Technique" Challenge.

My favorite technique is an “oldie”- Heat Embossing. I use Heat Embossing on almost every card I design- I still love watching that powder melt, lol! 

If you have not had a chance to visit any of the challenge sites or The Stamp Simply blog yet, I encourage you to do so.  Wonderful inspiration from the galleries as well as from my Design Team “sisters” on the Stamp Simply DT!  

To create this card:

Ink the poinsettia image from Winter Poinsettia with Versamark ink and repeatedly stamp onto a prepared piece of red cardstock (stamping off the edges to create an all over pattern).  Apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool (I had to stamp a few at a time, heat emboss and repeat until the panel was finished).

Trim the embossed panel and mount onto a piece of black cardstock.

Ink the poinsettia image with Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Once the embossing powder has cooled, fussy cut the image (I cut off the berries so it would fit the card better).  Use a clear glitter marker to add shimmer to the flower petals and set aside to dry.

Using the same steps as above, heat emboss the sentiment from Christmas Peace  onto white cardstock.  Once the embossing powder has cooled, die cut with a label die and cut a few extra labels (the same size) to adhere behind the sentiment.

Add a piece of black seam binding to the background panel (wrapping the ends behind the panel).  Mount the panel onto a white card base.

Add the sentiment die cut with dimensional foam (or chipboard, which I prefer) and adhere the fussy cut poinsettia at the top.

Finish off the card with a black seam binding bow, a red button, and a few white pearls.

We have not been able to visit family since they are all out of state and this Christmas will be different for us as well.  I am thankful that, so far, my hubby and I have not contracted COVID, but we do know many that have, and our prayers are with all of them and their families.

Stack and Quilt Floral Cluster- Winter Poinsettia Card Set

 Hi Friends!  

I am having fun creating Christmas cards and this set of five cards was designed with Stamp Simply stamp sets, Winter Poinsettia and Christmas Peace along with the Kaisercraft Peace & Joy paper pad using the Stack and Quilt technique from Splitcoaststampers. 

I love to participate with online challenges and am linking to the Simon Says Wednesday “Christmas”Challenge, The Spot #137 “Color Challenge” and the Word Art Wednesday #466-#467“Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to check out the Stamp Simply blog yet or the challenge sites above, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this set of cards:

Pull out five pieces of 4” x 5 ¼” designer paper from the Peace & Joy paper pad and stack them together before cutting on the diagonal along with three other cuts to create five pieces for the quilt pattern from each piece of designer paper (please see the tutorial for more details). 

Layer and adhere each piece separately onto a piece of white cardstock- you will have five panels when finished. Once you have all five pieces “quilted” to the white cardstock, emboss using the Script Background embossing folder.

Lightly distress the edges of the quilted panel and add the crocheted lace. FYI- make sure you have the embossed script wording upright before adding the crochet lace. See the last card below with the lace and ribbon at the top- I originally added the lace thinking that it was at the bottom, but oops!, the embossed wording was upside down, lol!.  No worries, I removed the lace/ribbon (carefully) and turned the it around but had to keep it at the top since the adhesive tore the paper a bit :-) 

Add the green grosgrain ribbon, adhere the ribbon ends behind the panel and mount onto another piece of white cardstock. Distress the edges and adhere to a piece of black cardstock before mounting the entire panel onto the white card base.

Stamp the Christmas Peace sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto white cardstock,  apply clear embossing powder applied and heat set with a heat tool.  Die cut with a circle die, mount onto another circle die cut from black cardstock and mount onto the card front with chipboard (or dimensional foam).

Stamp the Winter Poinsettia image with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto white cardstock,  apply clear embossing powder applied and heat set with a heat tool.  Watercolor the image with water-based markers and die cut with the coordinating die.

Mount the poinsettia die cut onto the card front with chipboard or dimensional foam.

Use a clear glitter marker to add shimmer to the poinsettia petals, a white paint pen to add highlights to the berries and flower center and add a few pearls to finish off the card.

I had so much fun creating this set of cards! What a great way to use up some of your designer paper, love this stack and quilt technique!
