Life Is Fragile, Handle with Prayer

Happy New Year’s Eve Friends!

I hope all of you have a safe and Happy New Year!

Every day is a reminder that "Life is Fragile, Handle with Prayer" and I know that my husband and I have been praying this past year and will continue to do so in 2017 :-)

The Lord has promised to answer our prayers and sometimes that answer may be "no", "yes" or "wait" and even though we may not understand the reason for the answer here on earth, we have to trust in the Lord. We have put our trust and faith in Him and pray that you have as well.

This evening I wanted to share another card that I designed using the December 2016 Our Daily Bread Designs Release stamp set, Handle with Prayer and ODBD Praying Border Die along with other previously released ODBD Dies and ODBD Paper.

I will also be linking this card to the Word Art Wednesday #262-#263 "Anything Goes" Challenge :-)

If you have not had a chance to visit the ODBD Blog yet or the Word Art Wednesday Challenge site, I would encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all of my Sister ODBD "Breadsticks" as well as the Word Art Wednesday gallery!

To create this card:

1). Ink the hand image from ODBD Handle with Prayer using black archival ink, stamp onto a piece of vellum cardstock and carefully heat set with a heat tool.

2). Color the ODBD Handle with Prayer image from the underside using water-based markers, allow the ink to dry and die cut with the ODBD Ovals Dies.

3). Die cut and emboss white cardstock with the following ODBD Dies- Praying Border Die, Bitty Blossoms Dies, Ornate Ovals Dies and Ovals Dies.

4). Die cut and emboss purple cardstock with the following ODBD Dies- Praying Border Die, Bitty Blossoms Dies and Ornate Ovals Dies (use the largest frame in the die set and cut two).

5). Die cut and emboss light green cardstock using the ODBD Bitty Blossoms Dies (leaves) and Lovely Leaves Dies.

6). Stamp the sentiment from ODBD Handle with Prayer stamp set using black archival ink onto white cardstock, heat set with a heat tool and die cut/emboss with the ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies.

7). Cut pieces of purple cardstock to cover the ODBD Side Step Fancy & Fun Folds card base, add pieces of the purple pattern paper from the ODBD ChristmasCard Collection 2016 Paper Pad.

8). Layer the stamped vellum ODBD Handle with Prayer image onto the white oval die cut from step #3, layer the white die cut/embossed ODBD Ornate Ovals die cut frame over the image and mount onto the purple ODBD Ornate Ovals Die cut frame.

9). Add the layered die cut frame onto the side step portion of the card base.

10). Finish off the card by adding the die cuts from the above steps- the layered ODBD Praying Border Die, Bitty Blossoms Dies and Lovely Leaves Dies along with the ODBD Handle with Prayer stamped/die cut sentiment and pearls to the flower centers.

Happy New Year and thanks again for taking the time to visit!! May the Lord richly bless all of you in 2017 and may you seek His Guidance throughout the year.

Pink Christmas with Christmastime and Gloria!

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas!  I am still celebrating Christmas this week by sharing a few cards that I designed for Christmas using the December 2016 ArtisticOutpost (AO) release stamp sets, Christmastime and Gloria (both available at Our Daily Bread Designs).

If you have not had a chance to visit The Artistic Outpost Blog or the challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Ink the AO Christmastime stamp with an embossing ink, stamp onto white cardstock and emboss with white embossing powder.

2). Using a water brush, apply a variety of pink and raspberry distress inks (I used spun sugar, victorian velvet, picked raspberry) to cover the white cardstock, gently wipe the ink away from the embossed areas.

3). Once the watercolor dries, apply additional ink with a sponge dauber to darken some of the areas around the ornaments.

4). Trim the panel, mount onto a piece of raspberry cardstock die cut and embossed with the ODBD Snowflake Sky Die and adhere to the white card base.

5). Add a bit of looped metallic silver thread to the area where you are placing the sentiment (I use hot glue to adhere).

6). Ink the sentiment from AO Gloria stamp set with embossing powder, stamp onto a piece of raspberry cardstock and heat emboss with white embossing powder.

7). Create the flag banner on the sentiment by cutting the “V” by hand, distress with your fingers a bit and mount onto the card front along with dimensional foam.

8). Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the ornaments and add a few rhinestones to finish off the card.

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs to all of you and Happy New Year!

Love is Like Wildflowers

Hi Friends!

Merry Christmas Eve!!  I decided to take a quick break from Christmas cards (I will be posting more Christmas cards later today and tomorrow :-)) and pulled out Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps (SNSS) Wildflowers Clear Stamp Set and Grunge Elements with Grunge Elements 2 (all available at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps) to create a CAS Mixed Media card.

To create this card:

1). Ink the SNSS Wildflowers floral image with Versamark™ ink and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

2). Once the embossing has cooled, watercolor with elegant eggplant, bermuda  bay and pear pizzazz ink using a waterbrush.

3). Use a paper towel to wipe off the ink from the embossing areas, stamp the hearts from SNSS Grunge Elements 2 and splatter from SNSS Grunge Elements with a mixture of the elegant eggplant and bermuda bay inks.

4). Ink the sentiment with elegant eggplant ink and stamp in the upper corner.

5). Die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die and adhere to the bermuda bay card base with dimensional foam.

I had fun designing this quick card and hope I have inspired you to create something this week!

Vintage Christmastime

Hi Friends!

Merry Christmas Eve, Eve :-)!  I will be sharing several Christmas cards over the next few days that were created with the December 2016 ArtisticOutpost (AO) release stamp sets, Christmastime and Gloria (available at Our Daily Bread Designs).

This card was designed using only the AO Christmastime background stamp and I am linking to the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #31 "Merry & Bright" Challenge.

I had fun designing this card and it is a bit difficult to see all of the vintage crazing in the photo but it looks very "aged" IRL  :-)

If you have not had a chance to visit The Artistic Outpost Blog or the linked challenge site yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from my Design Team sisters on the AO Blog as well as the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge gallery!

To create this card:

1). Ink the AO Christmastime background stamp with various water-based markers, “huff” onto the ink to re-moisten before stamping onto a piece of vanilla cardstock.

2). Ink the ornaments only on the AO Christmastime background stamp with a red water-based marker, stamp onto a separate piece of vanilla cardstock and carefully cut out the ornaments (setting aside for now).

3). Using tea dye, vintage photo and walnut stain distress ink, carefully sponge the distrees inks onto the stamped AO Christmastime panel to “age” the paper.

3). Use a distressing tool to distress the edges and apply vintage distress collage medium over the entire panel.

4). Once the panel has dried, apply distress crazing medium over the entire stamped panel.

5). Distress the edges of a piece of artichoke cardstock, mount onto the vanilla card base and sponge vintage photo and tea dye distress inks over the edges to “antique” the paper.

6). Once the AO Christmastime panel has dried, add the cord cording and bow and mount the entire panel onto the card front.

7). Use an extra fine white paint pen to add highlights to the ornament strands.

8). Add the fussy-cut ornaments to the card front with dimensional foam, add gold bows along with pearls to finish off the card.

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs to all of you and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
