Today
we are reminding you that it is not too late to join in on the fun with us at
the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light ODBDSLC285 “Spring Has Sprung-Blooming with Die Cut Flowers” Challenge!
I
decided to create another lantern with roses using ODBD Custom Dies from the
April 2017 Release- Luminous Lantern, Rose and Rose Leaves.
We
hope you will take the time to check out the rest of my ODBD Design Team Sisters’ blogs and see their gorgeous projects:
To
create the lantern, die cut four pieces of gray cardstock using the Luminous Lantern Die along with the four sided base, adhere the sides
and top together with adhesive and use a temporary adhesive for the bottom (so
you can insert the battery operated candle).
To
create the roses, die cut two of each petal from the Rose Dies using lilac
cardstock, work the paper with a bone folder to break up the fibers and separate
the cardstock by pulling the paper apart in half (sometimes this is known as
faux suede).
Assemble the petals (I use
hot glue and start from the bottom up) and use just a few petals to create the
buds.
Die
cut and emboss the leaves using the Rose Leaves Dies and the stem from the
Lovely Leaves Dies.
Add
the rose and buds to the lantern using hot glue to finish off the project.
Don’t forget- you have until April 30,
2017 to join us for a chance to be spotlighted for the Shining the Light
award or to win a $15 ODBD gift certificate (one random participant will be
chosen).
Thanks
again for taking the time to stop by! We
hope you will be able to join us for the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the
Light ODBDSLC285 “Spring Has Sprung- Blooming with Die Cut Flowers” Challenge!
Hugs
and I hope you have a wonderful week, sweet friends!

Beautiful roses, you did a wonderful job on them my friend!
Great color combo! I love your 3D creation - sure to brighten up any place you put it.
What a beauty you have created, Julie! I love your lilac rose supported by the vine. Faux suede is one of my favorite techniques when making flowers. I can only imagine how gorgeous this is in real life! TFS
What a stunning lantern, Julie!! I just love your purple rose paired with the slate grey lantern. The use of the faux suede technique is perfect!! Stunning 3d creation my friend!
