TCC138c Love Has Four Paws

Hi Friends!

Welcome to TheCard Concept #138c {Dog Days of Summer} Challenge- we have a fun inspiration photo for you!

The hot red colors as well as the cute dog with the sunglasses inspired me to create a Clean and Layered card- we are looking forward to seeing what we inspire you!

I love animals, especially cats and dogs and a while back, our Design Team member, Mackie Robertson created a card using the Spellbinders Merry Hugs die.

Once I saw Mackie’s card (here is her blog post with her cute card), I had put this die on my wish list and a few months ago, Spellbinders had a huge sale (and of course, I had to buy it!  Thanks Mackie for enabling me :-).

I decided to incorporate the Splitcoaststampers SC465 Sketch into the design and am also playing along with the Through the Craft Room Door  August "Anything Goes" Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit The Card Concept or the other challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!
To create this card:

Emboss a piece of white cardstock with a paw embossing folder, trim and mount onto black cardstock.

Trim a piece of poppy cardstock for the vertical layer, mount onto black cardstock and adhere to the background panel.  Mount the entire panel onto a white card front.

De-static a piece of black cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the sentiment from the Love Has Four Paws stamp set (Whimsy Stamps) with embossing ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  FYI- I cut the sentiment stamp in half so I could split onto two banners.

Trim the sentiment and create the banner ends by hand.

Mount the “Love Has” portion of the sentiment directly onto the card front.

Die cut the Merry Hugs dog image from black cardstock and adhere to a die cut white rectangle.  Mount the entire die cut onto black cardstock and trim close to the edge.

Mount the dog image onto the card front with chipboard (or dimensional foam) along with the “Four Paws” sentiment.

Die cut the heart/paw piece several times from poppy cardstock, layer a bit of black cardstock behind the paw area and add to the card front.

Adhere the black rhinestones to the card front to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Love Has Four Paws (Whimsy Stamps)

Ink/Mediums: Versamark™

Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Poppy Parade (all Stampin’ Up!)

Tools/Accessories: Gemini, Jr™, Dies- Merry Hugs (Spellbinders), Stitched Rectangle STAX A2 Set 1 and Paw Prints Die-namics (My Favorite Things);  Paw Print Embossing Folder (Darice), Embossing Buddy®, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Black Rhinestones

Thanks again for taking the time to visit!  I hope I have inspired you to create your own card based on our {Dog Days of Summer} photo and link up to our gallery at The Card Concept- we would love to see what inspired you! The challenge is open until August 17th   at noon EDT.
