Hi Friends!   

It’s time for the SUO162 “Holiday Cuteness” Challenge atSU-Only Challenges!  I decided to create a fun card for fall using Bear Hugs, Acorny Thank You and Vintage Leaves.  

I am also linking to the final Tic-Tac-Toe #22 Challenge- so sad to see this challenge site end and wish all of the Design Team members well! They have inspired us so with their creations :-)  I chose the diagonal Scene, Use Dimension and Texture.

To create this card:

Ink the Bear Hugs large bear with Basic Black Archival Ink,  stamp  onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Using the Stampin’ Write Soft Suede Marker  with the AquaPainter™ to watercolor the image and die cut with the coordinating Bear Hugs Framelits™.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a scrap piece of Soft Suede cardstock as well as a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim the Whisper White panel to approx. 4’ x 5 ¼”, mount onto a piece of Hello Honey cardstock, trim and mount onto the Rich Razzleberry card base.

Ink the acorn images from Acorny Thank You with Rich Razzleberry, Hello Honey and Soft Suede Classic Ink, stamp onto Whisper White cardstock and punch out with the coordinating Acorny Thanks Builder Punch.

Ink the leaf images from Vintage Leaves with with Basic Black Archival Ink, stamp  onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Color the leaves with Hello Honey, Garden Green and Soft Suede Classic Ink along with an AquaPainter™, dry with the Heat Tool and fussy cut the images.

Tuck the bear image into the circle, add the Gold Metallic Thread loops before layering the acorns around the front bottom edge with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Tuck the leaves into the circle as well as adding  additional leaves to the top corners of the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals® , apply Clear Wink of Stella® to the leaves to finish off the card.

Bear Hugs- You're So Sweet

Hi Friends!

I had a chance to create another quick card this evening and decided to participate in the #60 Bear Hugs Challenge at What Will You Stamp? (a new challenge site for me)  along with the Stampin’ Celebration SC127 Sketch Challenge and the Splitcoaststampers' CC579 Color Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to check out the above sites, I encourage you to do so- wonderful samples from all!

I love this sweet bear set, but must confess, I truly struggle with designing "cute" cards...

The background was created with the Smakin' Acetate technique (I am addicted- lol!)....

Cut open a clear envelope (or transparency sheet) and gently press the Hello Honey Classic Ink Pad directly onto the acetate (not the whole pad only partial areas), press the envelope together, smoosh the ink around a bit, re-open the envelope and press a piece of Whisper White cardstock down onto the ink on one side of the envelope.

Once the ink dries, use the Big Shot™ with the retiring Honeycomb Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss the panel.

Trim and mount onto a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Gray, trim and mount onto the Hello Honey card base.

Emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the retiring Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim and mount onto a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock and adhere onto the card front.

Ink the large bear image, the honeypot and the sentiment with Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. 

Stamp the skirt image onto a piece of retired Moonlight Designer Series Paper using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Bear Hugs Framelits™ to cut out the bear and honeypot images (fussy-cut the skirt image).

Color the bear with an AquaPainter™ and Basic Gray Classic Ink and fold up the arms.

Use an AquaPainter™ with Lost Lagoon Classic Ink to color the skirt and lower part of the honeypot adding shadows to both with the Stampin’ Write Lost Lagoon Marker.

Color the honey with the Hello Honey Stampin’ Write Marker and add Crystal Effects™ over the honey (set aside to dry).

Trim the sentiment, create the banner points with the retiring Hexagon Punch, mount onto Lost Lagoon cardstock, trim and create the banner points again with the punch and add a strip of Basic Gray cardstock (also creating the banner points with the Hexagon Punch- I am going to miss this punch in the catalog). 

Wrap a few pieces of the retired SAB 2015 In-Color Thick Baker's Twine around the sentiment and set aside.

Mount the bear, sentiment and honey pot using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the two Lost Lagoon buttons (with separated and knotted Hello Honey Thick Baker’s Twine in the center) to finish off the card.

SUO 145- Love You, Papa Bear

Hi Friends!   

It’s time for the SUO145 “Cute Critters” Challenge and I decided to combine a the new Bear Hugs stamp set with the coordinating Bear Hugs Framelits™ (both in the 2016 Occasions Mini Catalog) along with Timeless Textures (also in the Mini) and Watercolor Wash (2015-2016 Catalog) to create my Clean and Simple (CAS)  “cute critter” card.

 I also incorporated the Splitcoaststampers’ CC572 Color Challenge along with the CAS363 “Won’t You Call Me Sweetheart” Challenge and the Tic-Tac-Toe #6 Challenge (Celebrate, CAS,Critters).

 I hope you will have a chance to check out my sister Design Team member samples at the SU-Only Challenge site as well as the fantastic Design Team samples and gallery at the other galleries- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the Bear Hugs images using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the images with an AquaPainter™ and Classic Ink- Soft Suede for the bears, Pacific Point for the skirt and Real Red for the heart.

Cut out the images with the Big Shot™ and the coordinating Bear Hugs Framelits™.

With Marina Mist and Wild Wasabi Classic Ink, ink the Watercolor Wash background stamp (top half with Marina Mist, bottom with Wild Wasabi), use a brayer to lift the ink off of the background stamp and brayer onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Ink the line image from Timeless Textures with Wild Wasabi Classic Ink and stamp over the grass area.

Stamp the sentiment from Bear Hugs with Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink.

Trim the panel and mount with Stampin’ Dimensionals® onto the Whisper White card base.

Adhere the skirt onto the large bear and mount both bear images onto the background with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Using a long piece of Natural Linen Thread, double up the length to create a “rope” for the heart image, knot the ends and add the die cut heart to the center.

Bend the arms up on the bears and adhere the heart rope to the large bear image to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Bear Hugs, Watercolor Wash, Timeless Texture

Ink:  Stāz-On® Jet Black, Marina Mist, Real Red, Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi,  Soft Suede

Paper/Cardstock: Whisper White

Accessories: Big Shot™, Bear Hugs Framelits™, AquaPainter™, Natural Linen Thread, Brayer

I think this card could be used for Valentine's Day, Father’s Day or a card for a brand new Dad- what do you think?

Bear Hugs- Wishing You A Lake Full of Fish

Hi Again Friends!

Here is another card that I created this past weekend using a brand new stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini, Bear Hugs along with the coordinating Bear Hugs Framelits™ and a few of my favorite online stamping challenges.

This card was created using the Create with Connie and Mary CCMC398 Color Challenge, the JAI303 “E” Challenge (“E” for Embossing) and FabFri83 Sketch Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above galleries yet, I hope you will find the time to do so- wonderful Design Team samples and inspiration from all!

This card was fun and easy to create:

Ink the sentiment, large bear and three of the fish images from Bear Hugs using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock. 

Using an AquaPainter™ with Soft Suede Classic Ink, color the bear and lightly color the fish, add Mossy Meadow along with Watermelon Wonder to the three fish.

Trim the sentiment and create the banner points with the Hexagon Punch, mount onto Mossy Meadow cardstock and punch the ends with the Hexagon Punch as well.

Use the Big Shot™ with coordinating Bear Hugs Framelits™ to cut out the bear and the three fish.

Create a rope from Natural Linen Thread and adhere the three fish to the “line”.

Emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Arrows Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, a scrap piece of Watermelon Wonder and Soft Suede with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and a small rectangle piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Zig Zag Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Trim and mount the rectangular piece of embossed Whisper White cardstock to a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock, wrap a few strands of Natural Linen Thread around the panel and set aside.

Add the strips of Woodgrain embossed Watermelon Wonder and Soft Suede cardstock with a stapler to the embossed Arrows Whisper White panel, trim and mount onto a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock and adhere the entire background panel onto the Watermelon Wonder card base.

Add the Zig Zag embossed rectangle along with the sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals®, add the line of fish to the bear and mount the bear to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black, Soft Suede, Mossy Meadow, Watermelon Wonder

Paper: Whisper White, , Soft Suede, Mossy Meadow, Watermelon Wonder
