Peace I Leave With You

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing another card designed with the new Doves of Peace (designed by Krista Hamrick), Texture Tiles 3 and the previously released stamp set, Peaceful Peonies (designed by NinaB Designs)from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps.

I am participating with the Paper Craft Crew Challenges #317 Sketch Challenge  (oops! just noticed the square notation but converted mine into a normal A2 size) along with the {PIN}Spirational #230 Inspiration Challenge (I was inspired by the blues, white and peaceful feeling) and the Word Art Wednesday #364-#365 “AnythingGoes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the texture image from Texture Tiles 3 with Versamark™ ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Once the embossing has cooled, use a sponge dauber to apply Tim Holtz™ Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink, use a damp paper towel to remove the excess ink and die cut with a stitched strip die.  Mount onto black cardstock, trim close to the die cut edge and adhere to a piece of white cardstock trimmed to 4” x 5 ¼”.

2).  Stamp the dove image from Doves of Peace with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink onto a piece of white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Once the embossing has cooled, use water-based markers to color the image and fussy-cut around the edges.  Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the globe area.

3). De-static a piece of black cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the sentiment from Peaceful Peonies with Verasmark™ ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Die cut with a stitched oval die and mount onto another die cut from the same size oval (to give the sentiment additional stability).

4). Die cut a circle from white cardstock with a stitched circle die, mount onto another circle die cut from black cardstock.  Die cut the banner from black cardstock using a stitched banner die, split the banner in half, adhere to the card front and mount the entire panel onto a piece of black cardstock before mounting onto the white card base.

5). Add the die cut stitched circle with dimensional foam, adhere the looped silver cord and mount the sentiment with dimensional foam.  Add the fussy-cut dove image and finish off the card with a few rhinestones.

Doves of Peace

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the December release at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps.  Today I am sharing a quick Mixed Media card using the new stamp set Doves of Peace along with the December Stamp of the Month, Wood Backgrounds (free with your net purchase of $75 (US) in December 2018).

I love participating in online challenges and used the Global Design Project #166Sketch Challenge for the layout and am also linking this card to the PapercraftCrew Challenge #316 “Favorite New Product” (love both of these sets) as well as the Simon Says Wednesday “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the Doves of Peace  image with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Watercolor the image with water-based markers and fussy-cut around the edge.

2).  On another piece of white cardstock, image the small background image from  Wood Backgrounds with distress ink, stamp repeatedly to create the background and trim the panel.  De-static the lower right hand corner with an embossing powder tool, stamp the sentiment “be with you” from Doves of Peace with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

3). Use a circle punch or die to create the design element in the upper right-hand corner, trim the panel and mount onto a piece of black cardstock.  Trim close to the edge of the background panel.

4). Trim another piece of white cardstock to approx.. 4” x 5 ¼”, mount onto a piece of black cardstock and trim close to the edge.  Mount the entire panel onto a white card base and adhere the panel created in step 2 & 3 to the card front using dimensional foam.

5). De-static a piece of black cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the word “Peace” from Doves of Peace using Versamark™ ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Trim the sentiment and mount onto the card front.

6). Add a bit of looped silver cord to the circle cut-out area and mount the fussy-cut Doves of Peace  image over the silver cord with dimensional foam.

7). Add a few silver sequins and use a clear glitter pen on the water in the globe image to finish off the card
