Fabulous Mediterranean Moments

Hi Friends!!

Today I am sharing another quick card using an image colored with a water soluble graphite pencil with a bit of color from the Splitcoaststampers CC649 Color Challenge and a touch of scoring for the CAS(E ) This Sketch #235 Sketch Challenge.

If you have not already had a chance to visit the above challenge sites, I hope you will do so- wonderful examples from their Design Teams as well as in their galleries!

To create this card:

1). Score a 3 ¾” x 5” piece of Stampin’ Up! Whisper White cardstock on the bottom and along the right hand edge for the CTS235 sketch design (I already had this image stamped and watercolored in graphite so I could not add as many score lines to the bottom as I would have liked per the sketch :-)).

2). Ink the Mediterranean Moments scene using archival black ink, heat set with the heat tool and watercolor with a Derwent® water soluble graphite pencil. 

A bit darker shot to try to show the scoring :-)

3). Add color with Stampin’ Write Markers- Lemon Lime Twist for the leaves and Bermuda Bay for the motor scooter.

4). Trim a piece of Basic Black cardstock, mount the watercolor panel and adhere to the Extra Thick Whisper White card base.

5). Ink the sentiment from the retired Absolutely Fabulous stamp set with archival black ink and stamp onto the card front.

6). To finish off the card use a Clear Wink of Stella® glitter pen to add shimmer to the motor scooter.

SUO174 Watercolor Fun with Mediterranean Moments

Hi Friends!   

It’s time for the #174 “Watercolor Fun” Challenge at SU-Only  Challenges! I absolutely love to watercolor and decided to use classic ink and watercolor pencils for the watercolor on this card as well as added heat embossing and a bit of clear glitter. 

I incorporated the CC633 Color Challenge along with the Splitcoaststampers’ Free for All F4A376 “It’s CAS to Me” Challenge, the Simon Wednesday “Pop of Pink” Challenge  and the Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration #263 Challenge into the design.

If you have not had a chance to stop by the SU-Only Challenge site to check out the rest of the Design Team projects or the other challenge galleries yet,  I encourage you to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Ink the Watercolor Wash background stamp with Pool Party Classic Ink, use a paper towel to lightly pick up some of the ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

2). Trim the panel, ink the small splatter stamp from Timeless Textures with Pool Party, randomly stamp over the area and repeat with Basic Black Archival Ink (stamping off first) before stamping on the panel.

3). Mount onto Basic Black cardstock, trim and mount onto Melon Mambo cardstock.  Adhere the entire card front onto an Extra Thick Whisper White card base.

4). Stamp the sentiment from Rose Wonder with Versamark™ onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, apply Stampin’ Emboss® White Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.  Hand trim the banner points and set aside.

5). Ink the Mediterranean Moments image with Stampin’ Archival™ Basic Black Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.  Color the image with Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils and an AquaPainter™, adding additional color with Stampin’ Write Markers as needed.

6). Trim the image, mount onto Basic Black cardstock, trim and mount onto Melon Mambo cardstock.

7). To finish off the card, add the focal image and sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals®  and use the Clear Wink of Stella® Glitter Pen to add shimmer to the background.

SUO169 Mediterranean Sympathy

Woohoo! It’s time for a new #169 “Celebrating Green” Challengeat SU-Only Challenges and I decided to create a quick watercolor card using the Mediterranean Moments and Rose Wonder stamp sets.

I also incorporated the Alphabet Challenge “Y- You Choose”Challenge along with the Simon Wednesday “Anything Goes” Challenge.

 If you have not had a chance to stop by the SU-Only Challenge site to check out the rest of the Design Team projects or the other challenge sites, I hope you will do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). De-static a piece of Basic Black cardstock with the Embossing Buddy®, ink the sentiment stamp from Rose Wonder with Versamark™ ink, stamp onto the prepared cardstock, apply Stampin’ Emboss® White Embossing Powder and heat set with the heat tool.  Create the flag banner by hand and set aside

2). Ink the scene image from Mediterranean Moments with Stampin’ Archival Basic Black ink, stamp onto Whisper White cardstock, heat set with the heat tool and color using the Black Watercolor Pencil as well as Stampin’ Write Markers- Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi (using the AquaPainter™ to blend and soften the colors).

3). Trim the panel, mount onto Basic Black cardstock, trim again and set aside.

4). Emboss a piece of Old Olive cardstock with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim and mount onto Basic Black cardstock, trim and mount onto the Extra Thick Whisper White card base.

5). Add the watercolor panel from step #2 directly to the card front and mount the sentiment banner from step #1 with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

 6). Apply Clear Wink of Stella® to some of the building surfaces to finish off the card.
