TCC223 I Will Give You Rest

Hi Friends!

Today, we are starting our January #223 Cozy New Year Challenge.

I was inspired by the Nordic pattern in the coffee cup along with the textures from our photo to create a  Clean and Layered/ Mixed Media card.

We hope that you will take a moment to stop by our challenge blog and check out how the rest of our wonderful Design Team was inspired as well!

We are looking forward to seeing how you may be inspired by our photo.  Would it be the colors, coffee/hot chocolate, textures, or something else?

We are looking forward to seeing your card in our gallery!

I enjoy playing along with online challenges and will be linking this card to the Word Art Wednesday #734-#735 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the sentiment from Scripture Collection 4 with Versafine Black Onyx ink, stamp onto the prepared cardstock paper and apply clear embossing powder.

Heat set the powder with a heat tool and once cooled, die cut with a square die and mount onto a piece of black cardstock (trimming close to the edge).

To create the background, cut five pieces of the Let's Get Cozy designer paper to 3 3/4" x 5".

Using the Stack ‘n Quilt method (see the tutorial here at Splitcoaststampers),  stack the five pieces together and cut along the diagonal, across, etc., layer onto white cardstock (per the tutorial).

Emboss the panels with the Tin Tile embossing folder, trim close to the edge.

Mount onto another piece of white cardstock, trimming close to the edge.

Layer a piece of burgundy satin ribbon along with the midnight stitched ribbon over the diagonal, wrap the edges behind the panel.

Mount the entire panel onto a piece of midnight cardstock, trim and adhere to a white card base.

Mount the layered verse sentiment to the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Scripture Collection 4 (Divinity Designs, LLC)

I hope you have had a chance to stop by The Card Concept to see how the rest of the Design Team were inspired as well as check out the other challenge gallery entries- wonderful inspiration from all!

We hope you are inspired to create a card and join us for our Cozy New Year Challenge at The Card Concept!  The deadline to play along is Monday, February 9th at noon EDT.

Give Thanks- Seasonal Shelves

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a card that I designed with the retired Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Shelves along with some satin ribbon and metallic paper from my stash .

I have had this stamp set for almost twenty years and still love the images - a timeless set for sure!

As mentioned in my previous posts, in addition to making an effort to ink up stamps and use papers, etc that I have not used in a while, I am also working on creating a card for each of the Splitcoaststampers’ (SCS) Sketch Challenges (now at 800) and this card uses the SC314 Sketch for the layout.

I love to participate in challenges, so I am also linking this card to the Addicted to Stamps and More #388 “Holiday” Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #438-#439 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

This card was very easy to create- stamp the main image with black embossing ink onto vanilla cardstock and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.  Watercolor the image with water-based markers and distress inks, fussy cut the image and mount onto black cardstock (trimming close to the edge).

Emboss the metallic paper with the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder, die cut with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto black cardstock.

Die cut a piece of vanilla cardstock with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto black cardstock.  Adhere the die cut/embossed metallic panel and add the strips of black and copper satin ribbon (wrapping the ends behind the panel).

Mount the entire panel onto a white card base.

Adhere the focal image panel with dimensional foam or chipboard to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Seasonal Shelves (retired Stampin’ Up!)
