Give Thanks- Seasonal Shelves

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a card that I designed with the retired Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Shelves along with some satin ribbon and metallic paper from my stash .

I have had this stamp set for almost twenty years and still love the images - a timeless set for sure!

As mentioned in my previous posts, in addition to making an effort to ink up stamps and use papers, etc that I have not used in a while, I am also working on creating a card for each of the Splitcoaststampers’ (SCS) Sketch Challenges (now at 800) and this card uses the SC314 Sketch for the layout.

I love to participate in challenges, so I am also linking this card to the Addicted to Stamps and More #388 “Holiday” Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #438-#439 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

This card was very easy to create- stamp the main image with black embossing ink onto vanilla cardstock and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.  Watercolor the image with water-based markers and distress inks, fussy cut the image and mount onto black cardstock (trimming close to the edge).

Emboss the metallic paper with the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder, die cut with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto black cardstock.

Die cut a piece of vanilla cardstock with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto black cardstock.  Adhere the die cut/embossed metallic panel and add the strips of black and copper satin ribbon (wrapping the ends behind the panel).

Mount the entire panel onto a white card base.

Adhere the focal image panel with dimensional foam or chipboard to finish off the card.

Seasonal Shelves- Give Thanks

Hi Friends!!

This morning I am sharing a card designed with the retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set, Seasonal Shelves.  This set from 1999 (wow, 20 years old!) and I also used some older metallic papers that I have had for at least 10 years- love using my stash!

If you have not had a chance to do so, I hope you will visit the above challenge sites- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Emboss sheets of light copper metallic cardstock with three different embossing folders (I used three Stampin’ Up! folders- Quilt Top, Square Lattice and Tin Tile).  Trim onto ¾” wide strips and mount onto black cardstock.

Mount onto a piece of the light copper metallic cardstock, trim and mount onto black cardstock.  Adhere the entire panel onto the front of a white card base.

Ink the Seasonal Shelves image with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, watercolor with water-based markers in neutral tones.  Fussy cut the frame, mount onto black cardstock and fussy cut around the edges.

Mount onto light copper metallic cardstock, trim and mount onto black cardstock.

Mount the entire focal image panel onto the card front using dimensional foam (or chipboard).

Finish off the card using a clear glitter pen on the wreath  and an extra fine white paint pen for highlights on the hanging dried flowers.

Stamp Sets: Seasonal Shelves (retired Stampin’ Up!)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate, Early Espresso; Tim Holtz™ Vintage Photo Distress Oxide; Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen, Sharpie® Extra Fine White Paint Pen

Accessories: Big Shot™, Sizzix™ Textured Impressions Embossing Folder- Quilt Top, Tin Tile 3-D, Square Lattice; Embossing Buddy®, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- I hope all of you have a fabulous weekend!

The Earth Laughs in Flowers- Seasonal Shelves with Two Challenges :-)

Hi Stampers!!

I wanted to create a card using the CQC291 ColourQ Challenge along with the Freshly Made Sketches FMS186 Sketch Challenge.

When I saw the cute chicken in the inspiration photo from the ColourQ, I thought of a neglected retired set, Seasonal Shelves and decided to give it some  "love"  :-)

Again, I hope you will take the time to visit the above sites- both sites have fabulous Design Team creations as well as the wonderful galleries!

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of retired Poppy Parade cardstock, trim and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Cut a piece of retired Gumball Green Designer Series Paper (DSP) on a diagonal, adhere to the card front and add a scrap piece of Poppy Parade cardstock to cover the seam of the DSP.

Ink the retired stamp from Seasonal Shelves using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Color the image using Stampin’ Write Markers- Hello Honey, retired Bordering Blue, Gumball Green and Poppy Parade and the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker to add shadows.

Fussy cut the image and use a foam brush to apply Mod Podge® to the entire image.

Allow the Mod Podge® to dry and mount the focal image onto a piece of Moonlight DSP, trim and mount onto a piece of retired Poppy Parade cardstock.

Ink the sentiment banner with the Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write marker and punch the image out with the Banner Punch.  Punch another banner from the Moonlight DSP and adhere behind the focal image.

Add the focal image to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.
Use the Bow Builder Punch to create the paper bow from retired Poppy Parade cardstock and add the Hello Honey button with Natural Linen Thread to the center.

Mount the bow onto card front to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Seasonal Shelves, Banner Blast

Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Hello Honey, Sahara Sand, retired Bordering Blue, Gumball Green, Poppy Parade

Paper: Whisper White, retired Poppy Parade, Moonlight DSP, retired Gumball DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™, Honeycomb Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Punches- Bow Builder, Banner; Foam Brush, Mod Podge®, Hello Honey button, Natural Linen Thread
