Chalkboard Birthday

Hi Friends!!

I am sharing a card this morning that I designed using the Chalkboard- Birthday stamp from Divinity Designs, LLC along with retired Stampin’ Up! Trim the Tree designer series paper stack.

I have owned this stamp for several years and this is the first time I had a chance to ink up the Chalkboard- Birthday image (love using my stash- the paper was retired a few years ago as well :-))

I incorporated the Splitcoaststampers (SCS) SC758 Sketch Challenge for the layout and am also linking to the Just Add Ink #488 10 Year Anniversary Challenge (what a great milestone!) and the A Place to Start January “Anything Goes” Challenge- optional twist CAS (Clean and Simple) .  This card was very simple for me but I am not sure if it could qualify as a CAS card by all.

The main focal image was stamped with black ink, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I added a bit of layering with designer paper and black cardstock just using a trimmer (versus my favorite dies).

The card seemed a bit plain to me so I added the black ribbon- hopefully the recipient (my nephew in law) did not feel that it was too feminine (although the gift card that was inside most likely made up for it :-)).

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites, I hope you will take the time to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

Stamp Sets: Chalkboard- Birthday (Divinity Designs LLC)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black

Cardstock/Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black; designer series paper from the retired Stampin’ Up! Trim the Tree Designer Series Stack

Accessories: Embossing Buddy®, Clear EP, Heat Tool, ½” Black Seam Binding

I am so thrilled that you took the time to stop by! I hope you have a fabulous weekend and you are able to drop in again soon!

Festive Pines- Christmas Wishes to You and Yours :-)

Hi Stampers!

I still had the Ornamental Pine set on my desk (and decided to create one more card using the Pals PaperArts PPA224 Sketch along with the Festive Friday FFC42 Inspiration Photo and another October design for the CCC14 Christmas Card Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  Hopefully you  are not tired of this set yet- I love it! :-)

If you have not already visited the challenge sites, I encourage you to do so- fantastic Design Team samples as well as their galleries!

To create this card:

Using the large branch stamp from Ornamental Pine, ink the image using Always Artichoke Classic Ink.  Wipe the branch portion off with a baby wipe and color the branch with the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write marker and stamp the image onto Whisper White cardstock.

Re-ink the needle area and stamp at the lower corner of the panel.

Add a few highlights with the White Gel Pen, trim the stamped panel and mount onto Cherry Cobbler cardstock, trim again and mount onto Early Espresso cardstock.

Ink the pine cones using Early Espresso Classic Ink (or the Stampin’ Write marker) and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.  If needed, darken some of the areas with the marker and carefully cut out my hand (“fussy-cut”) and add the pine cones to the focal image panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim to approx. 3 ¾” x 5 ¼” and mount onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock, trim and mount onto the Early Espresso card base.

Adhere the strips of Trim the Tree Designer Series Pack (DSP) onto Early Espresso cardstock and add to the card front per the sketch.
Mount the focal image panel onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Ink the sentiment using Early Espresso Classic Ink (or the Stampin’ Write Early Espresso marker as I did) and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Punch the sentiment out using the Ticket Duo Punch and mount onto a ticket punched from Cherry Cobbler and another one from Early Espresso (cut the Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso tickets in half vertically and adhere behind the sentiment so you can see the layers).

Mount the sentiment onto the card front directly onto the panel and using a Stampin’ Dimensional® on the right hand side to attach to the card front.

Add the ½” Always Artichoke Triple Seam Ribbon bow with the Antique Brad along with a few Pearls to finish the card.

Stamp Sets: Ornamental Pine, That’s The Ticket

Ink:  Always Artichoke, Early Espresso; Stampin’ Write Marker- Early Espresso, White Gel Pen

Paper: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Trim the Tree DSP Pack

SUO107 Truly Grateful to be "Out in the Woods"

Hi Stampers!

I hope that you will visit us at SUO-Challenges to check out the rest of the Design Team projects and join in on in on the fun with your Stampin’ Up! Only creations as well as visit the CCMC site and check out all of their fantastic designs and gallery!

To create this project:
Ink the moose image from Walk in the Wild using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.
Create a mask for the moose using a sticky note and also create a mask for the moon with the 1 ¼” Circle Punch.
Mask the moose and moon image and using a Sponge Dauber with Marina Mist Classic Ink, sponge the ink onto the sky in a horizontal pattern to mimic woodgrain.
Color the moose using Stampin’ Blendabilities- Light and Medium Crumb Cake and the grassy area with the Light and Medium Old Olive markers.
Cut the image out using the Big Shot™ with the Ovals Collection Framelits™ (also cut an oval of the same size from Early Espresso cardstock).  Hand-cut the Early Espresso oval in half horizontally and mount behind the focal image.
Use a Sponge Dauber to apply Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink to the edges and use the retired Color Spritzer Tool with the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write marker to add a bit more distressing..
Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.  Trim and mount onto a panel of Early Espresso cardstock, trim again and mount onto another panel of Crumb Cake cardstock, trim once more and mount onto the Early Espresso card base.
Cut the angled piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Trim the Tree DSP Paper Stack, mount onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and adhere this panel to the card front per the card sketch.
Ink the woodgrain background stamp from Truly Grateful using Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.   Trim a piece to use as one of the vertical banners, cut the banner points by hand using the image as a guide, use the Distressing Tool to distress the edges and use a Sponge Dauber with Early Espresso Classic Ink to add a bit more distressing and definition along the edges.
Trim a piece of Early Espresso cardstock (I had a piece already embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder in my stash)- cut the banner points with the Hexagon Punch and distress the edges using the Distressing Tool.
Adhere both banners to the card front, add the strands of Burlap Ribbon and mount the moose oval using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.
Stamp the sentiment using Early Espresso Classic Ink onto another portion of the previously stamped woodgrain background (in the step above) and hand cut the banner points on both ends using the image as a guide.  Mount onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock (cutting the banner points by hand as well).
Adhere to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the retired Bronze Button with the Burlap Ribbon tied in the center to finish off the card.
