Psalm 62:1- My Soul Finds Rest in God Alone

Hi Friends!

Wow, I cannot believe that August 2016 will be over for us here in the Mid Atlantic in a few hours!!  This summer has gone by fast for sure :-)

I have a few more cards that I created with the Our Daily Bread Designs August 2016 Release stamps that I wanted to share and this card was designed with the new ODBD By The Sea stamp set along with the ODBD By The Shore Collection 6x6 Paper Pad.

I love the pelican image along with the verses and sentiments in the ODBD By The Sea stamp set as well as the new By The Shore Collection 6x6 Paper Padso many fabulous summer scenes and paper pattern designs!

Psalm 62:1  "My soul finds rest in God Alone" is so comforting to me!
As I have mentioned in previous posts, my husband Dave and I enjoy watching birds- we find that enjoying nature and God's masterpiece of creation allows us to "Rest in Him" for sure!

I think that the large die from the ODBD Ornate Ovals Dies makes a very nice frame for the pelican, don't you?

If you have not had a chance to visit the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog or the two challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Die cut and emboss a piece of dark brown cardstock with the ODBD Flourished Star Pattern Die, mount onto a piece of sky blue cardstock, trim close to the die cut and mount onto the white card base.

Die cut and emboss a piece of sand cardstock with the ODBD Lavish Layers Dies, mount onto a piece of the ODBD By The Shore Collection 6x6 Paper (die cut and embossed with the ODBD Rectangles Dies) and set aside.

Die cut an oval from the ODBD By The Shore Collection 6x6 Paper (I used the sky area) with the ODBD Ovals Dies and mount this oval onto a die cut a piece of white cardstock (die cut and embossed with the largest die from the ODBD Ornate Ovals Dies).

Stamp the sentiment from the ODBD By The Sea stamp set with archival black ink onto white cardstock, die cut and emboss with the ODBD Layered Lacey Ovals Dies and mount onto the layered panel created in the above step.

Ink the pelican image from the ODBD By The Sea stamp set with archival black ink, stamp onto white cardstock, color with watercolor pencils (adding just a bit of water and applying layers of color for more dimension), fussy-cut the image and mount onto the layered panel with dimensional foam.

Adhere the triple taffeta ribbon bow along with the antique brad in the center (wrap the ends of the ribbon behind the panel) and mount the entire panel onto the card front.

Add a white highlight to the pelican's eye with a extra fine white paint pen and use a clear glitter pen to add glitter to the feathers (difficult to see this both in the photo) to finish off the card.

Thanks again for visiting- hugs and have a blessed week, my friends!

ODBB August 2016 Mid-Month New Release Reminder

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far!  Today we are taking a look back at the Our Daily Bread Designs August 2016 Mid-Month Release!  These stamps, dies and papers are perfect for summer, nautical and masculine cards, scrapbook pages and 3-D projects!

I know that you will not want to miss out on the inspiration from the rest of the Breadbaskets and we would love to have you visit each of our blogs as well as the ODBD blog- please see more details below...

My first card features the new You Anchor Me (Stamp/Die Duo-Clear Stamps) along with the Flourished Star Pattern Die, Ornate Ovals Dies, Ovals Dies, Double Stitched Rectangles Dies and the new By The Shore Collection 6x6 Paper Pad. I added a piece of rope that I "upcycled" from a shipping package as well and used the  Leafy Edged Border Dies a guide to create the sloping angles for the paper layers :-)

I think that this card could be perfect for an encouragement for either a guy or a gal, don’t you?

My husband and I love watching birds and even though we do not have a chance to see pelicans that often, it was fun to color this image and recall the times that we have visited areas where pelicans were hanging around :-)  In fact, until I "googled" for images of pelicans, I did not realize how many different types of pelicans there are in the United States- I chose a white pelican for my image today.

I had so much fun designing these cards with the August 2016 Mid-Month Release and know you will as well!! I hope you will take the time to visit the rest of my Breadbasket Design Team Sisters to check out their gorgeous creations!

SUO156 Primary Colors- Happy Butterfly Birthday

Hi Friends!

It’s time for the SUO156 “Primary Colors” Challenge at SU-Only Challenges- perfect for back to school!

I decided to create a birthday card using Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry for the yellow, Dapper Denim for the blue and Real Red for the red.

I also incorporated the Create with Connie and Mary CCMC421 Sketch into the design (love their challenges :-)) plus they are also my DT Sisters on the SUO Challenge site.

I hope you will stop by the SU-Only Challenge site to check out the rest of the Design Team projects as well as the Create with Connie and Mary gallery- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the Timeless Textures images with Dapper Demin and Real Red Classic Ink, stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock to create your own “designer paper”.

Cut two circles from the stamped panel using the Big Shot™ with the Circle Framelits™ (one larger circle and a medium circle) and also cut circles from Real Red cardstock using the same size framelit.

Cut the Real Red circles in half and layer behind the die cut stamped circles to create a small frame for each.

Trim a piece of Whisper White cardstock, layer onto a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock, trim and layer onto a piece of Real Red cardstock.

Mount the entire panel onto the Extra Thick Whisper White card base.

Ink the sentiment from Rose Wonder and stamp onto the card front.

Add a bit of splatter with the Timeless Textures splatter image using Real Red and Dapper Denim Classic Ink, mount the larger die cut stamped circle directly onto the card front and mount the smaller circle (per the sketch) with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add a strip of Real Red cardstock (again, per the sketch) and a few Pearls.

It is difficult to capture the shimmer on the wings but it is there :-)
Create the butterflies by stamping the Papillon Potpourri image onto Whisper White cardstock using Stampin’ Archival™ Basic Black ink, color the images with the Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Markers and punch out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch.

Mount onto the card front and add Clear Wink of Stella® to the butterfly wings along with Pearls to the centers of each butterfly to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Papillon Potpourri, Timeless Texture, Rose Wonder

Ink: Stampin’ Archival Pad™- Basic Black, Dapper Denim, Real Red; Stampin’ Write Markers- Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry; Clear Wink of Stella®

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Crushed Curry , Real Red

Tools/Accessories: Big Shot™, Circle Framelits™,  Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by and we hope to see your Stampin’ Up! Only project in our “Primary Colors” Challenge gallery!

Happiest of Birthdays to You!

Hi Friends!

I wanted to share another card that I designed with the Our Daily Bread Designs August 2016 Release Woodpecker stamp set!

My husband, Dave and I love to watch birds and we often see Red-Bellied Woodpeckers at our feeders so when I saw the Woodpecker stamp set as part of the August ODBD release, I knew that this set would definitely be coming home with me- lol!

I have incorporated the Stampin’ Royalty SR343 “BirthdaysChallenge along with the Splicoaststampers’ SC604 Sketch Challenge  and the Hand Stamped Sentiments HSS#245 Inspiration Challenge into the design.

If you have not already had a chance to visit the above galleries yet, I hope you will do so as well as stop by the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the Woodpecker image with water-based markers and cut out with the ODBD Vintage Borders Dies.

Add a bit of glitter to the back of the woodpecker image with a clear glitter pen (hard to see in the photo).

Die cut and emboss a piece of textured soft blue cardstock with the ODBD Layered Lacey Square Dies and emboss piece of the Patriotic Collection 6x6 Paper Pad with the ODBD Boho Backgrounds Die.

Mount the embossed piece of the Patriotic Collection 6x6 Paper onto a piece of black cardstock, trim close to the edge, mount onto a piece of white cardstock (trimming per sketch) and mount onto the black card front.

Layer a piece of 1” black satin ribbon over the card front and adhere the ends behind the panel.

Stamp the sentiment from Woodpecker with archival black ink onto white cardstock, die cut and emboss with the Ornate Ovals Dies.

Trim off one end of ODBD Layered Lacey Square die cut, adhere to the card front and mount the entire panel onto the white card base.

Add the die cut Woodpecker image along with the sentiment with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

I am so thrilled that you visited with me today- hugs and have a blessed week, my friends!

Happy Birthday with ODBD Vintage Bird Labels

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far! Today I am sharing a card that I designed with the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) August Release stamp set, Vintage Bird Labels (Clear Stamps).

My husband, Dave and I love to watch birds so when I saw this stamp set in the new release, I knew that I would have to have this one for sure!

I am also linking to the Hand Stamped Sentiments HSSC245 Inspiration Challenge- I love the nature images in their challenge and the field of flowers with the butterflies on this ODBD Vintage Bird Labels image reminds me of our times at Shenandoah National Park :-)

If you have not had a chance to visit the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog yet, I hope you you will do so and check out the wonderful inspiration at from my Design Team Sisters!

To create this card:

Emboss a piece of white cardstock with the ODBD Vintage Flourish Pattern Die, mount onto a piece of bright green cardstock, trim close to the die cut edge, mount onto the black card front.

Ink the ODBD Vintage Bird Labels (Clear Stamps) image using archival black ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock and color with water-based markers.

Die cut the ODBD Vintage Bird Labels image with the ODBD Vintage Labels Dies, trim off the border and mount onto a die cut piece of bright green cardstock (cut with the same size die from the ODBD Vintage Labels Dies).

Die cut a piece of white cardstock with the ODBD Vintage Borders Dies and mount the layered focal image in the center.

Ink the sentiment from ODBD Vintage Bird Labels with archival black ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock, die cut the sentiment with the ODBD Ovals Die and layer onto a die cut piece of white cardstock using the ODBD Layered Lacey Ovals Dies.

Layer the sentiment onto the main focal image panel, add a piece of 1” Black Satin Ribbon over the card front and mount the entire layered focal image panel with dimensional foam.

Add the silver cord bow with the orange button to finish off the card.

I hope this card inspires you to get crafty this weekend :-)  Hugs and have a fabulous weekend, my friends!
